Rosie Hunt is a British author of cozy mysteries both puzzling and historical. Her books include the Lady Felicity Quick mystery series set in the green and pleasant countryside of southwest England in the 1920s.

A history addict and former journalist, Rosie grew up immersed in the worlds of Poirot and Miss Marple. This early exposure to baffling murder mysteries rather coloured her outlook on life, and it was only a matter of time before she wrote her own.

Rosie loves clotted cream, knitting, and Golden Age crime fiction and never misses an opportunity to visit a National Trust property. She lives with her husband and their fluffy, four-pawed overlord on a river in Northern Europe.

Who knew flowers could lead to such heartache. A winner struck down, a dowager in distress and Lady Felicity cast once more as sleuth if you’ll pardon the cliche because this time it’s personal. I enjoyed this story immensely. It was full of big surprises and a few red herrings to keep us guessing. The true culprit was quite devious at covering their tracks. What an interesting twist at the end for Felicity! I look forward to her new adventures!

Lady Felicity works well with Alex and investigating for the newspaper and helping solve mysteries. She is very good at figuring out puzzles. He is good about encouraging her to have more confidence.

I received a free copy of this book from the author and am leaving this review voluntarily.

Lady Felicity has been invited to be a guest judge at the local rose competition, even though she knows next to nothing about roses. As she makes her way around to each exhibit, her confusion intensifies. At the awarding of the prize, she is asked to be one of the people to hand the silver platter over to the winner. In the winners speech, he makes mention to many things about the past and most people in the crowd become very uncomfortable.

Later in the day, Lady Felicity and Alex, hear a female worker scream and try to calm her down when they notice what she saw. The recent winner has been killed. Lady Felicity makes it known that she will not put herself into this investigation, but when it becomes evident that others think her grandmother had something to do with it, she is drawn into it for her grandmother sake.

She and Alex work each angle of the investigation and are sometimes just a half step ahead of the local police, but nonetheless, she arrives at the correct conclusion and nabs the right suspect in the end.

Who knows where her talents will lead her next?

If you love historical mysteries, you’ll love this series. Lady Felicity Is the granddaughter of a great newspaper man and she inherited his inquisitiveness and the ability to get to the bottom of an issue. Her brother and grandma are just beginning to come to terms with the way she challenges the expectations of a woman in society. Lady Felicity’s Grandma is very involved in fund raising for many charities. She convinces Felicity to be a celebrity judge at a famous rose contest. After winning best in show, the breeder is found murdered and Grandma is under suspicion. After the ladies of the various charity fund raisers start to ostracize her, Felicity has to get involved. She works with Alex, the Western Daily News star reporter, as an assistant and the romance between them grows. Wonderful story with an ending I didn’t see coming. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher."

It’s so good to read a fun cozy mystery that has good character and relationship development over the series, with no typos or internal inconsistencies as many kindle unlimited books seem to have. Also not easy to discern the various perpetrators. Very satisfying.

I love the Lady Felicity series! This book does not disappoint! Great description, character development and plot twists! Highly recommend!

This was my introduction to the Lady Felicity series and I was not disappointed. It was easy to jump into the series without having read the previous books, and I enjoyed the main characters and the villains too. There are actually 2 mysteries that needed solved, and both solutions were interesting. I did think Felicity’s concern about her grandmother’s problems due to the murder was emphasized too much.
I appreciate the author’s embrace of women’s rights and possibilities, but I think she made too big of a point about that as the book was ending. I don’t think everyone in this time period of the events would have agreed, and it also seemed as though I was suddenly reading the author’s views rather than a character’s.
But she very successfully sets up the next book with the very end of this one. It made me want to see what Lady Felicity’s next case will be! I received an ARC and these are my thoughts on this book.
