    Where to start?? Honestly I can't answer that for you... you just have to find out for yourself .. but trust me this book is full of gooey goodness .. wrapped up in a delicious package ..

    The love between Elle, Sadie, Callum & Derek is simply beautiful . With these four no bars are held .. no stone is left unturned when it comes to expressing every inch of their love .. They have their good moments of course their unhappy moments but their unbreakable bond & support for each other is what makes this story !! I can't wait for the next book ..

    One of the best books I have ever read. I know that I will be rereading this book for a long time to come. Elle and Sadie lead you on a journey of self discovery that helps not only them but Callum and Derek too. I am on pins and needles waiting for the next installment.     Lisa Bilbrey's "Forbidden Awakenings" is the first tale in the Awakenings Series. This is a hot M/M/F/F polyamory tale. Lots of hot sexy combos. I think the M/M stuff was my fave. Family drama and stress infused with lots of sexy lovin'. Ha - and they work together! I can't wait to read #2.

    Characters: Edie and Sadie—Friends with benefits (a fact Edit has kept from her family)
    Derek and Callum—Best Friends
    Ivy—Edie’s sister and Nick—Ivy’s finance (who also has secrets—possibly the reason awakenings is plural)
    Helina and James (a wimp)—Edie and Ivy’s parents

    The story begins with Edie and Sadie applying to Davis Architects, a prestigious Architectural Firm, for an opportunity to work with the firm on a new project. They are accepted and go out to celebrate. At a club, the two girls meet Derek and Callum. They go home and enjoy sex together.

    As a result of the night together, they become fast friends and the two girls encourage the two boys to explore and take their friendship to the next level (I presume this is the forbidden awakening). Soon everyone is enjoying everyone else in various ways. You could say they have sex at the drop of a panty, but they hardly every wear them. This bi/homosexual friendship is just perfect, and Edie is having the best time of her life.

    Meanwhile there are several side plots. First, Edie and Sadie make their presentation for the project. Before they can complete the presentation, the developer is so impressed with the ideas presented, including Edie’s family friendly approach, that he hires Davis Architects immediately. Later we learn Davis Architects had tried to land the contact before and had failed miserably, but had been given a second chance

    Another plot involves Edie. They go to a party where Max (an acquaintance of Derek and Callum) asks Edie to dance She refuses; he asks again and she breaks down. Later we learn this is because Leo one of Edie’s boyfriends had abused her. This leads to Edie’s relationship with her family.

    Edie believes that her mother has always favored Ivy, her sister, over her. No matter what she does, her mother finds fault. Even the exception to is wrong for Edie. The only boyfriend her mother approved of is Leo, the boy who abused her. Edie’s mother accuses her of being selfish and only concerned with her needs.

    This leads us to Ivy and Nick’s wedding. Edie is part of the wedding and as a result Sadie, Derek, and Callum are invited. Immediately after the wedding and photo shoot, Edie can’t wait to be with Sadie. You guessed it; they get caught by her mother in a compromising position. Helina is horrified. Sadie comments that she really wanted this day to be special for Ivy and wouldn’t intentionally do anything to ruin it for her. Really?

    It was at this point that I stopped reading. I had been reading hopping that Edie’s comments about the value of family in her presentation would lead to some sort of reconciliation with her family. This scene seemed to indicate there was no hope.

    I can’t comment too much on the author’s writing skills as I skimmed through the sex scenes which were the greater part of the writing. As you can surmise from my summary of the first part of the book, the theme of the book appears to be homosexuality is good, heterosexuality is bad. In reality nothing is totally bad or totally good (perfect).

    Forbidden Awakenings is the first book in the Awakenings series and is a very unconventional romance. Elle Reid & Sadie Williams are best friends and lovers for the last 10 years. They meet Callum Davis and Derek Flores at a club. That night changes their lives because they all end up together in this relationship.

    I loved that both Callum and Derek have supportive parents. I was upset that both Elle and Sadie didn’t. I think our children should be loved unconditionally but we don’t always get or give that kind of love. But, this is how life is and we don’t always get what we want or need.

    If you love ménage romances (f/f, f/m/fm, m/m, f/f/m/m and any other combo you can think of) you definitely get with Forbidden Awakenings and you also get a huge cliffhanger. The kind that is jaw dropping! I sure hope that it won’t take long for the Awakenings #2 to be released! I haven’t read anything from this author before but, I will be reading the next book! I have to find out what happens next! I picked up this book after promoting the book for my blog TaSTy WordGasms and new I had to read it. I give Forbidden Awakenings 4.5 stars.

    This should have been a 5 star review, and would have been except for the “countless” mistakes throughout the book. ie. words out of order in a sentence, words in a sentence for no reason, there instead of their in one instance. First time reading this author and loved the story just didn’t like have to stop all the time to mentally remove words from a sentence or change the order of the words among other things. Such a shame as I loved the storyline and would have loved to read more from this author.
