4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 338 ratings

What if the love you thought was dead... was still alive?

Five years ago, Finn fell in love with an alpha he shouldn't—his student. Eighteen years younger, and a wolf from the despicable Weregrits, Dante is exactly who Finn shouldn't bed... except he's the only person who has seen Finn for who he is, and the only alpha Finn has ever loved.

When an argument goes wrong and a riptide washes Finn away, everyone—including Dante—believes Finn dead. In grief, Dante has spiraled, and murdered.

Fresh out of jail for his crimes, Dante returns to Finn's old home, intent on paying his respects to his dead omega... except he finds Finn still alive. And now Finn wears horrific scars from that accident.

Worse, Finn is in heat.

After a blazing night together, Finn conceives. The pups are Dante's. The pack hasn't forgotten Dante's crimes, and Finn hasn't forgotten Dante's love.

Dante's not leaving his omega again. But as the pack threatens their bond, and as Dante's past catches up with them, can he keep his family... or will he lose them all?

The Forbidden Alpha is a 86k standalone wolf-shifter novel with MPreg, May/Dec, teacher/student, second chance and ugly duckling themes.

Hello! Thank you for wondering about me. I’m a funny, dick-loving goofball with a surprisingly tolerant husband, and an ever-growing menagerie of stuffed animals and edible balls (in the garden). When I’m not busy writing (which is very rare), I can be found wrangling pests in the garden, or drawing copious amounts of peens!

I’ve been scribbling since I was fourteen, and I believe that everyone needs a safe place. My dorky guys fall in love, make mistakes, and sometimes they fumble a little before finding their way back into each other’s arms. :D

This was a wonderful romantic story about Dante and Finn. Dante was beaten and banished from the village he had been staying working as an apprentice / student to Finn. One day, five years ago, Dante and Finn had an argument on a pier by the ocean. During that argument Finn threw the wooden ring Dante had made for him and in a fit of anger Dante pushed one of Finn’s magical carts into the ocean. Finn dove in after it and Dante jump in after to save Finn but never found his beautiful omega.

Broken hearted and having lost the only person he loved, Dante’s wolf took over murdering others his pack wanted killed not caring what happened to him. Turning on his pack he confessed to the authorities and was imprisoned for years. When he had served his sentence and released from prison, Dante returned to the village his omega had lived.

What Dante didn’t know, until he saw his omega with his own eyes, was Finn was alive. What Dante would also so find out was Finn had been brutal scarred from being pounded into a coral reef that had ripped at his skin and muscles. It was so beautiful when Dante only saw his omega, the love of his life and not the scarring of his body. Well, yes, he did see the scarring but that was nothing compared to his omega being alive.

The problem was the villager hated Dante and knew the murder had been released from prison and later found out that Dante was with Finn, and Finn had become pregnant by his Alpha, Dante. Not only the villager did the couple deal with but also Dante’s pack that seeks revenge for Dante turning evidence against the pack. The torment and fear the couple went through was tremendous and left questions and doubts in Finn’s mind.

Though the couple had a very few on their side, no one else knew the real Dante, the kind, caring, loving Alpha he was to his omega. It was true that Dante had extreme problems with controlling his wolf and that was his biggest negative trait.

I loved this book. It’s true that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that love and determination wins out in the end. I highly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed and advance copy of this book and was not required to leave a review.

Loved Finn and Dante and Old Bill! This one made me feel bad for Dante even though he did wrong in the past I hated how everyone treated him. Would love to see more of Finn’s brothers.

I received a copy of The Forbidden Alpha from the author Anna Wineheart in exchange for an honest review. Occasionally an author I like writes a character I don’t like, and that is the case here. Although I believe in rehabilitation, having a murderer as one of the main characters isn’t my cup of tea. Having been a teacher, I cringe at teacher/student sex. Also, I don’t care for werewolf sex with the partners in different mindsets, one human and one wolf. There was much I did like about the story though, not the least of which was a return to the world where shopping carts are sentient and often act like pets. Since Finn has two unmarried brothers, they are likely to star in other books in this series, which I will look forward to reading.

Finn and Dante are wolf shifters, both from different packs and very much different in temperament, but very much in love. Finn is 43yo, an omega, an artisan in wood and a teacher of that skill. He teaches both humans and magic folk whereas Dante came to Finn very young as a feral wolf. Dante is now 25yo, having returned to the Topanga pack as an alpha and finding that Finn is not dead but badly injured from what should have ended his life. Will they be able to share the love they feel?
There are so many insecurities in this book. Finn who apparently was beautiful before the accident, now can’t stand people ogling him b/c of the scars. And Dante who has murdered people and been made an outcast. It is truly a poignant love story between unlikely people. There is much angst and lots of M/M loving so if that bothers you, don’t get this book. The scenes are well-done and the writing is good. My only problem was the length of the book, which I believe could have been shortened and obtained the same result. Could just be me b/c I have so many reviews not done but promised.
If you like paranormal M/M romance with descriptive scenes, you’ll like the story. I was offered an ARC to review.

Dante was Finn's student and then his Alpha. An accident leaves Finn scarred and Dante devastated thinking his Omega to be dead. With nothing more to live for, Dante gets mixed up in crime and is sent to jail for his crimes. Once released, Dante goes back to Finn's home to say sorry to his ghost, only when he arrives he finds his omega alive and in heat. This time they swear to stay together, but will everyone else allow that to happen?

Well written story with two sweet men who love each other even with their flaws. Definitely a recommended read.
