As a linguist working in data analysis, Aveline has always loved patterns and words. Drawn to narratives emphasising time and place, she creates speculative fiction flavoured by history and geography. Her greatest desire is to time travel –until then, writing and regular travel will suffice!
Aveline has visited more than 70 countries, but during lockdown spent her travel money collecting a splendid library of illustrated books, inspiring her to write more. Her stories have been published in ASF’s Zodiac series "Leo" and "Sagittarius", Black Ink Fiction’s "Fantasy on Four Feet", and PS Publishers’ "From the Waste Land" – a forthcoming centenary tribute to the T.S. Eliot poem.
After many years in the most liveable city of Melbourne, she is now based in the never-tiring city of London, where she lives in an open relationship with her books.

More than anything, I am a lover of stories. To tell them, to be told, to listen to, to watch, to play, to read, to write, there are so many ways for stories to be conveyed and I have yet to find a medium I don't enjoy. Stories are a huge part of my life, and being a nerd has exposed me to some of the best. Whether it's Asimov, King, Bradbury, Jacques, Tolkien, Crichton, Adams, Abnett, Ross, or any of the other uncountable storytellers I've been so lucky to witness, I am inspired and awed by those who have come before me.
I live in southern Iowa with my wife, our two dogs, and a herd of four cats.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Treasure Trove of Re-Imagination
The stories held within feel at first familiar, but they quickly delve deeper and with great detail into the lives of the forgotten and overlooked. Each one of these stories is a pleasure, opening one’s eyes to the possibilities of what happens when the support gets the spotlight.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great collection of fantasy stories.
I really enjoyed reading this anthology of stories. They were all interesting and well written; none disappointed me. My two favourites were Black fox and Bitterbird by Leanbh Pearson , and A pale horse named Death. By Nat Whiston.

5.0 out of 5 stars Animal fantasy rules OK!
Confession: I have a little story here, but I'm rating the others . I was so thrilled to edit this wonderful collection: dogs, horses, a divine fox, and even a cheeky crow deliver tales of magic, horror, comedy and romance. I love this book and I hope you will too
