Fractured Night (Stone Bay Series Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 21 ratings

A small town, forced proximity, LGBT romantic suspense from USA Today Bestselling author, Persephone Autumn.

Shallow. Heartless. Egocentric. The top three words people use to describe Phoebe Graves.

Somehow, I’ve always seen past her icy facade. Seen beyond her callous exterior.

And those minor glimpses… they make me want her more.

But Phoebe and I exist in different worlds in our small town. Though we’re both Seven—the Stone Bay founding families—she flaunts her privileged status while I live a more humble life.

The last thing I envision is my life colliding with hers.

When Phoebe walks into my family’s business, searching for answers on the town’s latest tragedy, my mother suggests we join forces to find the culprit. To make Stone Bay safe again.

Much to my surprise, Phoebe says yes.

In the weeks that follow—as the evidence grows and the list of names shrinks—the unexpected happens. Phoebe lets me in. Reciprocates my affections. Then asks for secrecy.

As time ticks on, as Phoebe gets consumed by the case, doubt seeps in and I question our relationship.

One night, one hasty decision, fractures our lives forever.

Two words easily sum up Phoebe Graves—fire and ice. Not just in looks, but also personality.

From one day to the next, I never know what to expect from Phoebe. One minute, she's closed off and cold and focused solely on work. The next, she cracks the door to her heart and mind open and gives me a glimpse of who she is when not under someone's thumb.

Friends ask why I don't give up on Phoebe—on trying to be her friend, on the mysterious crush I've harbored for years. And the truth is, I don't know why.

As cruel as she's been to me at times, this small piece of me refuses to let go. Phoebe isn't some project or conquest I want to claim defeat on. There's always been something about her. A nameless connection just out of reach. An invisible impulse beckoning me closer. An irrefutable tether keeping me in her orbit.

I devoured Fractured Night by Persephone Autumn! This was my first book by Persephone and it was amazing! I loved the mystery suspense in this book! Delilah and Phoebe are apart of the founding families called The Seven. Their families couldn't be more different than each other. Phoebe's family is more on the flashy side while Delilah's family is more down to earth.

After a string of murders in their small town of Stone Bay, Delilah's mom suggests they work together to try and figure out who the serial killer is. I loved the way they worked together to figure out the mystery. Delilah has always has a major crush on Phoebe and as they spent more time together, the crush just intensifies. I loved the slow burn between them and their banter!

Overall, this book was great and I can't wait to read other books by Persephone Autumn.

This was my first ever FF book, and I actually enjoyed it a lot more then I thought I would. It had just the right amount of spice without feeling like that's all you were reading every other chapter. I also don't normally reach for m*rder mystery/suspense books, but this one was so good and kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Really liked it and would recommend it.

“Fractured Night”, book two in the wonderful Stone Bay Series by Persephone Autumn, is a captivating opposite attract forced proximity small town romantic mystery that will have you flipping pages and holding your breath until the very end.
I have dubbed Persephone the “queen of the slow burn” and in Fractured Night, she is at the top of her game. Phoebe Graves and Delilah Fox are two daughters of the small-town Stone Bay founding families, but are as opposite as you can get. Delilah is the sunshine half, caring, trusting and sees the goodness in everyone. She also has carried a crush on Phoebe since they were schoolmates. Phoebe grew up in a household more focused on appearance and status. As a result, she is distant, cool to others, and has no clue what love looks like.
When they are thrown together to help solve a local mystery, they are forced to spend time together and the chemistry between them threatened to set my kindle on fire. Persephone builds the push, pull relationship one layer at a time. A brilliant emotional depiction of showing three-dimensional characters peeling away layer after layer of assumptions, fears, and discovering their inner beauty follows. I could read a hundred thousand pages of this wonderful couple. Captivating, realistic, heartbreaking and so freaking tender, their journey will have you laughing, crying, and shouting to the sky. This is where Persephone’s skills shine. I absolutely love the poignancy and pacing of she takes with this tender romance.
But there’s more. The romantic arc of the couple rises alongside a perfectly constructed parallel mystery. The intertwined plots crash together in a climax that will force you to forget everything around you. Personal note, I missed the first quarter of the super bowl because I refused to put down this book until I reached the end.
Clear your calendar and start this beauty today.

"Fractured Night" isn't just a book—it's a sapphic symphony wrapped in a mystery, with every page a crescendo that pulls you deeper into the enigmatic world of Stone Bay. It's the kind of read that seduces you with its complexity and the raw, undeniable chemistry between Phoebe and her unexpected partner in crime-solving, Delilah. Their journey from antagonists to lovers is crafted with such authenticity, it feels like you're uncovering a secret part of yourself along with them.

This story is Pheobe and Delilah. It is a nice story and a good mystery in it. This is book 2 in the series and with not reading book one I would say that it is a decent book.

I love that this has representation of a woman trying to figure out herself and one that knows that the other is who she wants.

this was a good f/f romance where the fmc's are opposites and while the town is experiencing a serial unaliver these two keep crossing paths and begin getting closer but will this new romance end before it really begins?

Not a huge fan of sapphic novels, they’re not my cup of tea. With that said, this was the first book I’ve read from this author and I did enjoy the writing style and suspense. Thank you for the ARC opportunity!

This is my first sapphic romance book and first book by Persephone Autumn! This was so good, the story had my attention from the start, i had a hard time putting this book down. I found myself up in the middle of the night trying to get "one more chapter" read. The suspense throughout the book was intense and gripping. I was nervous of what would happen next. I loved how different Phoebe and Delilah are and how Delilah was so patient trying to be her friend from the early years of their lives.

It pained me to hear all the verbal abuse Phoebe endured growing up and still goes through with her Mother. How she feels so unloved. Unlovable. I could feel her pain....my heart ached for her.

Overall, this book was a very great read and has a great story with it with some spice sprinkled in.
