Gage (The Player Book 6) Kindle Edition

4.5 out of 5 stars 148 ratings

Money, power, prestige…legacy.

I was born for this. I make it look easy. I know because everyone tells me so constantly. I can’t bear to tell them my secret. I’m failing.

The youngest Coulter, the baby of the family, and also the shame of it if they find out I can’t hack it.

There’s a single chance left to pull this out, except of course the one girl on campus who can best tutor me is the one girl who can’t stand me… lucky for me she’s in need of a fake boyfriend.

Becker has her own last name to weigh her down, her own family expectations, and her own secrets. Our relationship might be fake, but my fascination is real. She doesn’t just make me want to be better, I
am with her. As though she cares.

It might be crazy, but if there’s any hope for me, I’ve got to shoot my shot with her.

Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling author, Nana Malone writes Sexy Feel-Good Romance and loves all things romance and adventure.

That love started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

I recently found Nana Malone and I love this series.
This book started super hot and I couldn't wait to read more!

Gage Coulter is a freshman at Billings. He's part of a very successful, athletic family and he's trying to become a starter on the school's basketball team. Unfortunately, his grade is slipping in English and unless he brings it up, he won't have a chance at the basketball team. He needs to hire a tutor to help him. Enter Becker Johnson who's got a famous dad and is trying to break free from his controlling ways and get a prestigious scholarship to be in New York. Becker turns to tutoring at her advisor's recommendation.
When they meet, she thinks he's a dumb jock used to getting his ways and finds out that she's very wrong. In addition to tutoring Gage, Becker is trying to avoid unwanted advances by a family friend, Daniel, who happens to be competing with Becker for the same starting position. To help her, Gage volunteers to be her pretend boyfriend. Lines get blurry when they start "pretend" dating and studying.

This was such a sweet, romantic read. I'm looking forward to reading the others in this series!

This book was enjoyable, but I'm not a fan of YA romance. I can't stand the immaturity. I adored Gage. He felt much more mature and grounded than you'd expect for a 19-year old. Becker, on the other hand, is whiny, weak, and likes to keep secrets. It felt like she was 16 instead of a smart girl in college. She had many good qualities, but the author focused so much on her immaturity that it was hard to see her as a woman.

I’ve enjoyed this book more than any others in this series! It just seemed the writing was more real and on point than any book I’ve read in a long time. I’m looking for the next book of hers to read now and can’t wait! She’s become one of my absolute favorite writers of all. Just love her books!

I loved how a cocky jock, has a heart of gold is so respectful for woman. Becker was assaulted by Daniel a guy her father wanted her to date. When she told her father what he did he didn't believe her or get help for the nightmares. Becker start tutoring Gage and they fall for each other. Gage's family loves her. Becker's father hates Gage and treats her poorly. Becker tells Gage about Daniel , he is on Gage's basketball team. He start talking trash about Becker and Gage nails him. Becker learns other girls have been assaulted and she reports what happen to help other. Gage and Becker confess their love and move on from her past.

I really enjoyed this book and the rest of the series. But with this being the final book in the series, it feels incomplete.
Several unresolved issues were left open, for example Daniel's comeuppance and Ransome and his mom's introduction to the rest of the Coulter family including Rory.

Gage is the youngest coulter and trying to go to school, play basketball to follow in all of his families footsteps, deal with his fathers illness and the family scandal about ransom. Gage's grades start to show the stress he is under so he needs a tutor where is how he meets Becker "Becks" Johnson. To watch these two meet and get to know each other and help each other is great. Nana Malone again keeps you wanting more of this series by keeping all the other family members in the story. You are rooting for Gage and Beck.

Well written without too much drama. I loved how he cared for her unconditionally , she did have some problems but overcame them. Good book.
