My writing journey began with fan faction, and as much as I LOVED being part of a community of super fans, I got tired of working with other people’s characters to tell my stories.     I absolutely love J.J’s writing! I get so absorbed in all of her stories and she makes it so easy to fall in love with the characters. I especially loved the dynamic between George and Mila. Both strong willed and smart women, who push one another to be better.

    I’ve been in my age gap romance era for months now and J.J always delivers with the best ones. Ice Queens with a heart of gold and have a love hate relationship with vulnerability are my favorite.

    I highly recommend giving this one a read. My only complaint is that I always want more from an ending. Like what happens next? Do they get engaged, are they married, do they have kids? I’m a sucker for wanting to know. So not a real compliant. Also, I need a crossover with Jordan and Sierra from Crossing the Line. I feel like they would be friends. Same with Sierra and Mila. Double date?

    I recently read this book as a recommendation. I was not disappointed. It was highly entertaining and something to help me take my mind off of going back to work after vacation.

    I am always appreciative of any romance novel that displays proper grammar. This is another work that yet again did not disappoint me on that front. In a story where you need to make the reader feel, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary are key. ESPECIALLY on more intimate scenes. I also appreciated that due to both of these women being highly sophisticated and accomplished their chosen dialogue displayed the right amount of intelligence without being over the top.

    I appreciated in addition to grammar and vocabulary that the author didn’t spend too much time getting technical with all the in’s and out’s of political office. It was just enough detail for the readers to get the general idea, but not be bored reading about the technicalities of politics, when clearly this is a love story.

    I truly enjoy characters that are very cerebral and have high aspirations and goals. I can relate to them a lot and the strains that a personal life can have on a career. It also makes the dialog more scintillating. I’m always more of a fan of characters who driven and successful and know what they want in life professionally, but you still get to see them struggle and develop over the course of the story to try and find the a way to balance love in their life. Gives me hope.

    I did wish there could have been a little more development in the characters aside from Sam. And I wanted just a little more substance and length to the story.

    That being said, overall, this was a “Goode”…no, GREAT read for me. I appreciate for something shorter than I normally read and it did what it was supposed to do: entertain, amuse, arouse (I highly recommend on the two scenes that name songs, pull those up and play them in the background while you read 😜), and inspire that you can still be a successful, non wavering and driven professional woman and still have enough room for love.

I only have one critique. You made errors in this book, 3 to be exact. When someone is self published its easy to miss the smallest of errors. It didn't affect my overall rating but you must be sure of yourself with each word. I hope you understand, I only want you to be as perfect as if you had a publisher. If I'm wrong and you do have a publisher, then the errors are not just yours. Thank you and keep on writing.

    This is my first JJ Arias book and my first in the A Goode Girl series.

    This is one of the best age gap romances I have read.

    As an ex public servant who was deep into politics back in the day, this story had so much beautiful detail in terms of the marriage of convenience, especially as times have moved on. The push and pull of politics and the care with how the campaign process was portrayed was pretty realistic.

    I loved the arc for both women and the friends that love and support them.

    If you love reading strong, smart women, then this book is for you.

    Came on this author and series out of order reading part 2 first. Thoroughly enjoyed the story and characters and will continue with more from J.J. Arias.

    Recommend for anyone who likes a good romance . I am neither female or gay but have been a fan of the genre since reading my first Sophie Kinsella book previously read by my mother-in-law before recycling at the charity shop.
