Grading on Curves Kindle Edition
The one time Mia Page undresses a perfect stranger with her eyes and he busts her? What are the odds?
Now, this embarrassed mom is running into the hot middle school teacher everywhere. Is there no mercy for the wicked? It’s not fair. Nor is it fair her ex is about to remarry, her teen wants his space, and her overactive imagination means batteries are suddenly in short supply since meeting the charming Mr. Walden. He’s a twenty-eight-year-old fantasy, not an option.
He looked up, she blushed, and Curt was hooked. It’s cute that Mia gets tongue-tied around him. He loves how easy it is to make her laugh, to make her quiver. So why is it so hard to get her to admit there might be something very real going on here between them?
Grading on Curvesis a second-chance-at-love contemporary romance. If you enjoy honest characters, funny situations, and sizzling love scenes don’t miss this warm and entertaining story.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 27, 2015This was an odd read that didn't come across as an older woman/younger man kind of romance. Curt's age was only mentioned a few times in passing. Mia seemed more concerned that she had a middle-aged son, even though Curt told her it wasn't an issue to him. I never got what Curt and Mia saw in each other and never felt that incredibly involved in the story. Probably just me! ; )
- Reviewed in the United States on June 23, 2013Grading on Curves is my third Tara Mills novel. Need I say more? I keep Tara Mills on my TBR list because her fun, flirtatious, and sexy romances are so good. They make perfect beach reads, or a fun quick read on the weekends, with plenty of substance, excellent & believable characterization, and great storytelling. Whenever I want to veer away from the dark, gritty paranormal novels I read, I know a Tara Mills romance will brighten my mood and satisfy my romance bug.
Divorced mom Mia is settled in her life and job and isn't looking for a man despite her best friend's nagging her to move on and start dating again. The minute Mia lays eyes on Curt, her son's science teacher, unexpected sparks fly between them. Some people say you'll never meet the man of your dreams when you're looking for him. You have to wait for him to pop into your life out of the blue. Bam. Mia and Curt popped out of the blue and into each other's lives. But there's resistance on Mia's part for various reasons I won't spoil. Curt, not so much. He knows what he wants...and he wants Mia.
Chemistry explodes between Mia and the younger Curt, and you root for them to find their happily ever after. What woman wouldn't want the romantic attentions from a hot younger man? Ms. Mills handles the age difference deftly. The road is a little bumpy and you wonder if they will ever reach their destination, but that's what makes this story and the characters so real. Kudos to Ms. Mills for another delightfully enjoyable and passionate winner.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 22, 2014When I need a good story, either close to real people or just quirky enough to entertain, I look at Tara mills' website to see what she has added as new. I loved "Accidents Make the Heart Grow Fonder" enough to read it twice. this also steered me to "Caution, Filling is Hot" and this book. Thank you, Ms. Mills!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2013Mia hasn't dated since her divorce four years ago. No one has looked interesting enough for her to change her focus from raising her son to a new guy. Then said son breaks his arm and Mia meets Curt, a teacher at her son's middle school. Curt also happens to be the hot guy she caught staring at her in the coffee shop a few days before.
They both acknowledge the attraction but there are complications--Curt is not only her son's teacher, he's years younger than she is And he seems to have baggage in the form of a friend/girlfriend hanging around. On top of that, Mia can't quite come to terms with falling so hard, so fast.
This is the fourth Tara Mills book I've read and it's just what I expected from this talented writer--good characters, great dialog, sweet and sexy romance all within a fun plot which turns out just right. If you haven't read her books, you should.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 3, 2018A sweet romance that you just want to work out great. It was a well written, easy to read book, that leaves you smiling a lot. I really enjoyed it.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 26, 2013Mia is divorced and hasn't been on a date in four years. In fact she has no interest in men right now. She has been busy being a single mom to her son. Until she is standing in line at the coffee shop with her neighbor and sees the hottest guy sitting at a table. He catches her staring and smiles. Embarrassed she turns, grabs her neighbor and leaves in a hurry.
Later she panics when called at work, her son Casey broke his wrist and she needs to come get him. The teacher who helped Casey after he hurt himself offered to take him to the clinic if she could meet them there. So she races to the clinic thinking the worst. She is shocked when she comes face to face with coffee shop hottie. Curt is a teacher at Casey's school and brought him to the clinic. Her brain short circuits and she decides she has made a fool of herself. He is twenty-eight and younger than she is. However, he is exciting her like no other ever has. What is a girl to do? Mia decides to go for it, knowing that this will never last because of their age difference. She keeps telling herself that this will ease her back into dating. Of course, nothing ever goes the way you plan. She has to decide what she really wants and if Curt is worth the risk.
I really liked the story. Single mom dating one of her son's teachers is a very realistic story. This could be a story about anyone. The content is realistic and the reader watches as the main characters meet and struggle with their feelings. I loved the fact it was about a teacher, a science teacher at that. The love scenes were pretty hot but as I said realistic. The reader could believe that they were viewing parts of someone's life. The only thing that made me roll my eyes was the ending. It was a bit cheesy. It was sweet, don't get me wrong, but I groaned. Other than the ending, it was a great book.
