- Reviewed in the United States on April 25, 2014Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis green book is a most magical one! Alana is 10 years old and has a younger brother named Isaac. She finds the book in her room one day and learns that it can help her with some everyday problems. It is divided into 12 sections and each has a secret spell in it that helps the children in one way or another.. It covers football, stars, a dragon, treats and more.
I really thought it was an outstanding book and it could also be read to the little ones in your family.
Most highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2018Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI bought this book for my children, and they absolutely loved it. They thought the magic spellbook was great fun, and it resulted in an imaginative game with them using a dictionary, opening it at random pages and intoning the words as spells to clean their rooms/ create magic footballs and so forth. One of my children asked me to look and see if there were any more books, so that she could read the next one.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 14, 2015Format: PaperbackA spell book appearing one day in your room is a dream for any ten year old, especially if you just been told to tidy up that room. Alana is the lucky girl with the book. It must have chosen her as she is really very responsible; choosing not to use her spell book when it asks her if she wants it to magic her exam. I’m not sure I would have withstood the temptation. I also doubt that my friends would have given me a moment’s peace if they had discovered that I had a book of spells. But Alana and her friends learn a lesson early on; if you misuse magic it will have consequences. This is a short and entertaining book for young children. I think this would make a good book for bed time, as it will leave you having sweet dreams about having a spell book that makes all your troubles go away.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2015Format: PaperbackOh to have a secret spell book! Such a magical story for young children. We enjoyed following Alana's adventures as she learns to use the Green Book. Alana uses its magic to add fun and excitement and the Green Book always knows just the right spell to help out in tricky situations. My children enjoyed guessing the spell words and casting the spells along with Alana. We read this book, a chapter a night, as our bedtime story. Each chapter is an ideal length for this and is a complete story in itself. This is a humorous tale of magic and fun with friends and my three can't wait to turn ten so they can get their own Green Book.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 15, 2015Format: KindleI have many nieces and nephews. I read this book to some of them during one of our "story times". They loved it. They were so engrossed in the book and they had big grins on their faces while I was reading it to them. The book is written well and is nice to read to younger children and suitable for older children to read to themselves.
I wonder if the spell for tidying bedrooms would work for a 32 year old as well as a 10 year old? lol We all love the Christmas present spell.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 25, 2015Format: KindleThis is an absolutely adorable tale with age appropriate vocabulary and images--- not cartoons. The spells were fun for me to chant along with the character and the ending was great! What a way to make kids feels special, while reading about magic, which kids love to do. Kudos to Penny Luker for this book any child would want to read.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 4, 2015Format: KindleA magical book just for ten-year-olds is waiting for Alana. There's lots of spells catered to her daily needs, including one to clean her room, make milk into ice cream, and just to cheer her up. Read this to see how she uses the 'green book'. I don't want to give away too much, other to say I loved this book. It's such a fun book, and enjoyable to read!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 10, 2019Format: KindleVerified PurchaseTen year old Alana is headed into magical journeys, who she finds the green book. The book not only helps Alana through her young life, but teaches her lessons along the way. This is a good book for those in grade school, but is good for other ages as well. Who couldn't use a little magic in their lives?

Format: KindleVerified Purchasecute and sweet, Penny Luker has created a book that children will love. We did prefer her second book in this series in my house but this one is well worth a read as well.
