    "I'm having my first experience of being a father... And a grandfather. And I love my new family. There are more ways to create a family than having biological children. " I think this is the most profound statement in the book and so true in real life. It is something that I had noted through out the book, even before the statement was made in the story. The characters in the book really are family to each other even if there is no blood relationship. And in some cases they were more like family than the blood lines were. I really enjoyed seeing those non-bloodline family ties made in the book. It was my favorite part.

    I think Eb's name was pretty hysterical but he didn't seem all that grumpy to me even before his life changed. But no matter how grumpy or not grumpy you are, the name has got to be an issue.

    I loved Eb's daughter. Looking at her atrocious mother, you have to know it is a miracle that the little girl is sweet . The miracle was probably the nanny.

    I enjoyed this story even though the 'I'm not good enough for you' trope is not my favorite and unfortunately, I'd read two in a row with the same reason for not being 'good enough'. That made it a little harder to enjoy for me personally, so it attests how sweet the story was for me even knowing that.

    A lovely Christmas read.

    Sandra and Eb's story begins when Eb's 4 year old Daughter is left in his front lobby by his ex wife. He hasn't seen her since she was born. Sandra and Eb have been friends for a year. Sandra has a secret from her past that could affect their future. The characters are real and wonderful, the story is touching and heart warming. I highly recommend!

    Good story line. I can understand how a last name like Grinchly could be embarrassing. I almost gave this 3 stars because of the sentence structure in several places. There were even sentences I couldn’t figure out. However, I’ve read many books by Donna Weaver and this hasn’t happened before. Maybe she needs a new proofreader.

    I picked this book up on a whim. It had been awhile since I’d read one of Ms Weaver’s books. It was just as good as I’d remembered! I didn’t realize it was the third book in a series. Now I’ve got to go read books 1 & 2! I didn’t need them for this to be enjoyable and understandable, I just want to read their stories too!
