- Reviewed in the United States on June 3, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseWell Anna and Ace are life in this book. I'm intrigued to see what comes next. The book just ends though and I wasn't a fan of that.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis is so good!!!! It is a slow burn and no one is together by the end of the book but i love the worldbuilding, strategizing, and the characters. The author is so good at creating stories that have such substance!
- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2022Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI found this book and got it way back in January of 2019, after I had read her other series in this genre, called The Dark Side. (Book one of that series is called Four Psychos). However, I had many other books to read before I could get into this new series for me. I FINALLY came back across it when I was desperately looking for a new one to read and I am SO glad I did. I haven't laughed that hard in YEARS!!! There were times when I couldn't see because I had tears running down my face from laughing so hard and times when I couldn't breathe because of laughing so hard and long. DAMN! This authors humor is crazy good!! Not to mention the story telling.
Without repeating too much of the synopsis here is what the book is about: The female lead is named Violet and she is a Portocale Gypsy. When her mother passes, she moves to the town where she resided. In doing so, she ended up attracting the attention of 4 very powerfully rich men that were MORE. She knows there are monsters out there in the world, but there are many strange things happening around her since getting to town and she hasn't a clue as to what is going on! The only way to find out is to get creative with asking her questions to get the straight answer. Plus, she seemed to have also gotten someone to stick close to her from her moms funeral. To say it seems like everything goes awry no matter what she does, or doesn't do, from that moment on, is an understatement.
I don't want to say too much because, honestly, if I do, you'll miss out on the discovery of things Violet goes through and that could not only ruin an amazing bust out loud moment or learning about a key thing before you should. Besides, I HATE it when people spill stuff and not even care that they could be ruining it for others. (HUGE pet peeve on not stating Spoiler Alerts.) Besides, I was so into this book, I immediately bought the other 5 books in the series and kept reading before I posted any reviews and I don't want to say anything that could mix up the timeline of events. THAT would be really bad. Really. LOL
So, as mentioned, there are monsters. There are also accidents and mishaps that Violet gets into. Then there are attacks, hot men, arrogant men, barbarian men and so on. You WILL laugh hard. Roll your eyes and at some point, go...WHAT?! and more. It's all here and in the rest of the series.
I can't recommend this book, series, more. HAPPY READING!

- Reviewed in the United States on March 1, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseGypsy Blood, book 1 of the All The Pretty Monsters series, by Kristy Cunning, @cmowensauthor. I have loved everything I have read by this author!
This was a good book about Violet, Vance, Emit, Arion & Damien! Tropes: Paranormal, Reverse Harem, Slow Burn, Vampires, Wolf Shifters, Gypsy (not a word I would normally use, but the book uses it), A Character That Is A Ghost (not part of the harem), Slow Paced/Slow Burn, & a Cliffhanger!
- Reviewed in the United States on December 4, 2023Format: KindleVerified PurchaseSo I’m already on the last book but wanted to throw in a review on the first for anyone taking the plunge for these.
So I’m horrible at reviews and end up all over the place but I’m gonna try lol
So I love this author and love her books.
These though are not so much spicy or much romance really imo.
So there is literally so much going on in these books and so much stuff never really explained. It’s like they give half answers and almost answers and then expect you to just understand? I’m not really sure. The amount of confusion I still have half way through BOOK 6 is maddening.
I do not retain information easily and the insane amount of info dropped non stop is hard enough not counting the info that just dead ends or isn’t really explained so it’s just hard to follow a lot.
Violet is also a little frustrating. It never seems like she’s one person or has a solid character foundation. She definitely switches up a lot and has some contradicting personality traits and moments so I feel aggravated with her a lot.
I do love the uniqueness of the story though. I haven’t read anything like this and I like it.
But on the other hand it feels like there’s no real plot. It’s literally like we’re walking on a plateau gathering more and more and more problems and half informations but it doesn’t seem to go up to a climax if that makes sense ?
I like books that you’re working up to something or some conflict or whatever it may be and then eventually resolves
Book six is finally when something happens but it’s like a random thing that even lead there so it wasn’t a calculated thing that moved the story to its final peak.
All of the reviews seem to be so good and I wish I had the same experience reading these.
They’re not bad by any means. It’s just ALOT so be prepared to invest your entire life to these for a few days so you can process wtf is even happening
- Reviewed in the United States on April 20, 2025Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe story is too fun to not love this book / series. Fun, but also complex and interesting enough to keep you hooked. Basically, just read it!

5.0 out of 5 stars I needed this book.
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThis book turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. When I came upon it, I didn't think much about it. The cover isn't so great, the writing on it very hard to read, and the description of the book doesn't say much about the story. It was only through one of the comments that I decided to give it a chance.
And, folks, am I glad I did it.
The way the author writes makes it hard for you to stop reading. There's nothing tiring about the book, no paragraphs you have to read twice before you understand and no parts you wish to skip.
Every word is meaningful and every chapter is so artfully constructed that it became one of my best reads this year.
I just love how Vance, Emit, Damien and Arion are constructed and I love how Violet has to learn how to navigate her new life.
I hope the second book is better than this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Unexpectedly fun
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseAn annoyingly oblivious protagonist who has hidden strengths and become endearing as the story progres. Super(natural) bad boys provide excitement and intrigue. An annoying sex obsessed ghost with an expiry date provides distinct light-hearted moments. But all the characters have character traits that lead to self depreciation, almost inadvertently. It is this aspect that distinguish the novel from the run of the mill that rely mostly on banter for humor. The storyline so far has avoided the usual prophesy or destiny driven challenges of the fantasy / urban fantasy genres. That may change but it seems that
ancient gypsy lore drives the stor arch which also made it an unexpected treat to read. Some of the backstories seem somewhat light, but the groundwork has been laid here for character development and l look forward to an exciting series. Recommend for all age groups and urban fantasy readers.
