I finished this book in 2 days. Could not put it down. Without going into spoilers, there was a decent amount of foreshadowing that I could guess the direction of the book. But when the plot twist hit, and you find out the reason behind the actions, my heart rate spiked so hard my Apple Watch thought I was working out! I was legitimately shook.

One tiny critique - the author used a lot of exclamation points at the end of chapters, which made reading it in my head feel weirdly upbeat for a more serious book. But I’m not the author. In any case, I’m going to be on pins and needles until the next book comes out later this year.

Very well done. While it would be helpful to read books one and two for the details, the book us written so you get on board quickly. Its a immersive story, so well done that you are in the story. It's almost a little slow for the first half of the book and then it takes off with a surprising twist. I was extremely irritated by being called to dinner just as I started that section of the book. So good! I eagerly await book four.

Fast moving plot. Confronts contemporary challenges like changing government dynasties and Artificial Intelligence civil rights. Well developed characters interesting tech.

As the three of "borrowed" AI ships continue their journey back out to Adamant the search for allies continues and well as the pursuit by powerful forces seeking to gain bake the ships. A good mixture of conflict and diplomacy ensues as well as a couple of somewhat expected twists that actually wound up turning out a little different than I expected. Plenty in this interior novel of a fantastic series to keep the reader going and eagerly wanting more. Please start at the beginning of the series to ensure you are able to follow most if not of all the ongoing stories and situations.

I am really enjoying this series, especially as it starts to flesh out the universe it is and all the twists and turns it can have.
This reminds me very much of the Honor Harrington series, which is about the best praise I can give.
Kudos and I can’t wait for September and the next book. Hurry!

He doesn’t ever give us a bad novel. I especially like the obvious plot twist being eroded to the point you think something else is going to happen instead. Then it’s sprung.

Change the game to poker! And sometimes you have to bluff!

Lorraine has lost a lot to her uncle’s coup. Her parents and most her siblings. Her position in the navy. But she hasn’t lost her sense of responsibility, to her nation and the crew that followed her to Earth. Now she’s back.

A lot of trials along the way have tested and tempered her. People she loved have betrayed her. But she’s back.

A great series with excellent characters and development. I’m waiting for the next one!

ARC Reader Review: The Valkyrie Strategem, the third in this ever-upward series, was another enjoyable read from Glynn Stewart. The plot, as always, is interesting and keeps the reader guessing. But, where Stewart truly shines is the characters. Unlike an unfortunately large percentage of his peers, Stewart's characters are distinct, distinctive and they grow. The Valkyrie Strategem takes this even further, with three different AIs, each with distinct personalities and interests. Definitely a fun read, and I look forward to the next installment.

I've been following Glynn Stewart through many scifi tales. He has not disappointed. Well written, imaginative, with characters you can care about. Fascinating ships, action, ethical issues, high intrigue and politics mixed together deftly. Thank you for dreaming up House Adamant. I await the next installment eagerly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent continuation of this Glynn's newest series

It's been great to see this world of Glynn Stewart's develop, Im a fan of all his other series and this one has continued my enjoyment. It's awlays nice to have a new world from the author, I have loved all his books, but I especially enjoy the world building that comes each time he build new series. The characters are well written and the plot far from predicatable. Unfortunately I'm stuck between wishing the series would end so I can see what is going to happen and wanting more books to prolong my enjoyment. This is a great addition to this series.
I recieved an advance copy, but I already pre-ordered this book and in fact I've also pre-ordered the next as well.

Just completed this and I am now itching for book 4.

An extremely well paced and written series that has excitement, action, conflict, human frailty and most importantly humour on a level thats makes it seem real.

Thanks Glynn for yet another amazing chapter in the series and I am eagerly awaiting book 4.
