    The overall arc of this book is excellent. We see Roth making a lot of progress on developing as a character and learning secrets in the VR land he is trapped in. His few allies are making sensible moves to find him new allies and save his life. There is a great amount of development over the overall plot.

    The side characters don't get much development in many ways. The author tries to overcome this a bit with a lot of shifting of the point of view. Some of this ends up almost excessive and slows down the pace of the narrative.

    My one complaint about the pacing aside, the other issue I have is again that Loki is becoming too much of a plot point and doesn't feel like a great character. To a point based on his backstory, his antics make sense, but part of me wonders if the story could have been done differently to provide for the character development.

    Still solid and fun.

    The maniacally evil antagonist is wearing a little thin. Too many "because plot armor" excuses and free passes for their plans real world. The MCs progress and exploring is also fed out in spits and spurts. Hoping the pacing and logic improves in the 4th book.

    This is the third collection in an ongoing series. You can’t just jump into a story so linear this late in. That said if you have even read one chapter of this story then you’ll know you want to see it to the end.

    The characters have a ton of heart and the main character is a cinnamon roll. You see multiple perspectives and get a very full view of the events and larger meta plots. If you are looking for a slow burn with a ton of progress made every book this is the series for you.

    Great gameplay elements.
    A++ world building
    Only detraction and a pretty big one is the shtick of the MC gameplay style. It works as the author does a good job of providing fruits to his labor, but it just comes off as wholy unbelievable. That being said I still like it, but not enough to continue reading as part 4 is a paid volume.
