    I'm a Lucy Monroe fan and this book hits the mark. Blythe and Tor have chemistry from the time they met but an age gap makes Blythe hesitant. What I liked best about the book was Tor's certainty over several years that Blythe was "the one" for him. He was a tremendously faithful person. Over these years, Tor's military experience impacted him and this trajectory was interesting. I was sometimes mildly frustrated by Blythe's tendency to be judgy about Tor's relationship with his family. However, Lucy Monroe brings several threads together at the end for a satisfying read.

    Four stars. For a frame of reference, Lucy's books Queen by Royal Appointment and Prince of Secrets are 5-stars for me.

    This is a good read for any time of year. Since we're in Summer here, it was nice to sit and get some sun while reading this story between Blythe and Prince Tor of Tapt Oyer. Tor and Blythe have known each other for a while since he's the brother-in-law of her best friend. They seem to skirt around each other because of the chemistry that is explosive between them. Life and issues are always in the way, but they overcome them, making for a good story.

    Tor is a prince and Blithe is his sister in law's best friend. Blithe is also seven years older than Tor. I am usually more of a older man/younger woman romance book fan, but this book has me loving the younger man/older woman aspect. Also, this story spans several years in actual time. Tor is crazy about Blythe from the get go ( I think he was 22 to her 29 when the story started) and even though Blythe is very attracted to Tor she is reluctant to get involved with her best friends younger brother in law. Also Blythe has ferlity issues and does not think they can be together in the long run because of this. Tor wears Blythe down and they become secretly involved. The book follows them through several years. I loved seeing Tor come into his own as a sexy alpha hero and seeing him prove to Blythe that her is her prince ! This book has all the sexy, hot love scenes we have come to expect from Lucy as well as the emotional roller coaster ride her books never fail to provide. A must read!

    I really loved this story. Not having read any of the other stories in the series did not matter. It was a stand-alone novel with its own merits. Blythe's infertility was handled in a sensitive way, yet everyone's reactions felt realistic. I loved that insight into Tor's thoughts and feelings changed throughout his maturation process. Having a brother who has been to war, I also liked the realistic way the author portrayed Tor's reaction to his father's "surprise" party. Overall, I found this story to be well written and entertaining. I plan to read all the other stories in this series.

    Blythe and Tor cannot ignore the chemistry between them even though Tor is a prince and Blythe is younger than him and best friends with his sister in law, Queen Janne. While Blythe fights the attraction for many years, eventually it overcomes both of them and their compatibility is off the charts. While Blythe has secrets that keep her from ever considering marriage, Tor will do anything to keep Blythe in his life. I really enjoyed this story and how Lucy Monroe wrote about these characters throughout many years of their life.

    I got to a scene that felt way too familiar and made me feel like I had already read this book. After a comparison, it turns out that scene is copied practically word for word from a Presents this author released a few months ago that I had already read. I'm really not okay with that.

    But read it for the amazing tropes:
