Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child: she grew up the only girl in a family full of boys. At fourteen, she decided to use that imagination to write her first book, and she never stopped. She often calls writing her therapy, using it to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.

She published her first book to encourage her children to go after whatever they want, to inspire them to love what they do and do it well, and to teach them what it means to overcome their fears. The fastest way to get over someone is to get under someone else...right? Jason recently moved home to be closer to his family and Tatum is his cousin’s best friend. Both just off of recent breakups, what could go wrong? Poor Tatum. She is a hot mess. This chick is sweet and full of sass. She is also a walking disaster. After her boyfriend of two years proposes, she is in bliss. Until he dumps her, on her birthday of all days, with an excuse that leaves her thinking WTF just happened. Fast forward a few months, she is working in the same restaurant with her now ex and his new girlfriend. Talk about awkward. She doesn’t want to be the pitied party in the relationship gone bad so she tells one innocent little white lie... I freaking loved this book! It was hilarious to point of tears at some parts. Tatum was quirky and Jason was too sweet. I felt they just clicked. They had fun together and what started out as just a fling grew into something more with a lot of laughs along the way. This author writes her characters with so much depth and I got sucked in and didn’t want to put the book down. I loved this book! It was funny and sweet with a little bit of angst thrown in. Leddy Harper is now added to my 1-click list!

    If you're like me and your best friend is quirky and socially awkward and you think it's cute and lovable, this book will be right up your alley. From cheese puffs to kitchen fires, there were times I wondered how much of Tatum's experience had been plucked from real life...because you just can't make this stuff up.

    Harper did an amazing job of weaving a tale of Half Truth through a love story that will have you rooting for the characters and laughing through your tears. Another well-done book by a fabulous author.

    This book had me laughing and saying "oh girl" 🤣 it is a cute love story with some ups and downs. Tatum pretends to be dating Jason without him knowing so her friends will get off her back. But when Jason is seen at the restaurant with another woman, things don't go as planned. Tatum pretends they broke up but that is when their relationship truly begins.     I loved this book! Leddy Harper had me laughing while I enjoyed this read. Tatum is a sou-chef and loves her job and is engaged. She is living her dream and excited for the next chapter in her life. She never dreamed her fiancé would end things and now she is stuck working for him at his restaurant while he flaunts around his new girlfriend.

    She is determined to not let him get to her and continue to do her job and eventually move up. The only way to prove she has moved on is to get the perfect fake boyfriend. Her best friend and roommates cousin will do just the trick. He has no clue he is her “boyfriend”.

    Jason has just moved back to town leaving behind his ex in Vegas to be closer to his family. After meeting Tatum his cousin warns him to stay away. He tries his best and eventually they decide on secret friends with benefits.

    The banter between these characters was perfect. I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to reading more from this author.

    I am simultaneously giggling and cringing while reading the absolute train wreck that is the awkward Tatum. I want to save her from herself. I am pretty sure there is an actual red hand print on my forehead where I slapped myself while shaking my head at her behavior. I kept reading while internally begging her to stop, turn and RUN like she was being chased. No such luck. She kept hurdling toward the uncomfortable like her brakes were cut and she lost power steering while she was at it. At some points I was scared I wouldn’t even get through it. Wait, am I supposed to be humiliated on her behalf? Because I so, so am. I’ll be honest, at first her crazy antics really stressed me out, but by half way through I couldn’t stop laughing and just going with it. This story was hilarious, adorable and so much fun to read.
