Marisa Taylor lives in London, UK with her husband and three daughters. They are a mixed Jamaican, Canadian & German family. Since becoming a mom, Marisa noticed how difficult it was to find books that represent children from all over and therefore she made it her mission to help change this. It was important to her to play a part in teaching kids from early on that self-love and diversity is beautiful. Hence how her first book ´Happy within´ came about and has been translated into +25 different languages. The idea behind the bilingual books is to create diverse resources that help encourage children to learn a second language, while celebrating multiculturalism.
She is passionate about learning & teaching languages as it is a key element to connecting with people from other cultures. Her desire is to inspire and motivate parents and children from all nationalities & backgrounds to love who they are and be happy within.
Marisa speaks German, Spanish, Portuguese and English and wanted to put her language skills to use, hence why since publishing of her first picture book she has created various other bilingual activity and colouring books. Her focus is to remain on creating bilingual resources and she is open to taking language requests.
Marisa published her second book ´Diversity to me´ in Nov 2022. A picture book teaching kids about the beauty of diversity. An excellent resource for first conversations around diversity & inclusion. It is currently available in English, English Spanish and English Portuguese. Additional languages to follow.
