Mike Waller is a multi award-winning author and independent publisher who has written in some form or other for many years in relation to other occupations, and now in the writing of fiction. His books FALCON'S CALL and HAWK: HELLFIRE are B.R.A.G. Medallion Honorees in the genre of Science Fiction for 2019 and 2020, and have won several other awards besides.

Mike is a great believer in the idea that humankind will one day outgrow it's troubled childhood and reach for the stars. His great passion is to explore that possible future, not just from the scientific viewpoint, but from the lives of everyday normal people.

His stories generally feature strong, independent and powerful heroines and heroes, and have strong plot driven storylines with well developed main characters. His inclination is to write science fiction action/adventure stories in the Space Opera and Military Sci-Fi sub genres.

He currently lives in Queensland, Australia (beautiful one day, perfect the next), surrounded by blue sky, warm breezes and green trees (but no aliens, so far).

Good read and can be a lead into a series. I enjoyed the story and the characters. The world building is good and there are no grammar errors. The action was ok but was a little weaker than it could have been and no romance. If it becomes a series, I would continue to follow it; lots of opportunity for expansion. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

    I’m fond of stories about ethical mercenaries. They’re rare characters.

    Oh man. I so enjoyed this book. A man is falsely accused of setting off a bomb that destroys lots and kills many. He is sent to prison and is resigned to this new life. Then someone comes to the prison and offers him a way out. A new life. Who wouldn't want that? He is sent to Scenna to get rid of the dictator currently there and to establish a new government. The planet is rich in a mineral found there, which has no use on the planet. Scenna, it is discovered, is also home to the drug Hellfire, which is being harvested by slaves. This story is told in such a wonderful way that just makes you want to keep on going and not stop reading. Thank you, Mike Waller, for such a great read. Looking forward to your next book.

    A really good read in the genre of military sci Fi. Falsely accused of an atrocious crime and convicted without a proper trial, Haukens fate was supposedly sealed -life imprisonment without any hope of reprieve. Money and power can do such things, people and systems can be bought. The universe loves irony it seems, as the same processes enable Hawk after many unlikely events of him in a position to right a good many wrongs and bring a bit of justice along the way.
    Good characters and world building make this a very good read. Hawk Hellfire will not disappoint.
