    Jo is a musician that has undergone a tragedy that she herself cannot remember. Her brother, Brighton, is keeping what happened to himself & not telling her anything. She feels betrayed and doesn't know who to trust and is trying desperately to remember what happened to her and why she can't remember. The accident has claimed not only her memories, but also her career as a pianist. Her brother tries to help by providing other outlets for her musical abilities in the form of a guitar.

    As she tries desperately to remember, she's visited by a boy named Adam, but he comes & goes so suddenly, that Jo thinks she's going crazy. But, she has such an attraction to Adam that she can't tell if she's imagining him or if he is real. Is he a memory, a ghost, a real boy, or a figment of her imagination?

    She then meets Paxton, a boy from her past, and is drawn to him as well. She knows that he is important to her, but not how he is linked to her and her past. Throw in Hadley, a nurse hired by her brother, and you have a story that had me saying, Oh My Gosh!!!

    Throughout the book's twists & turns, I was swept up into Jo's life (as well as the other characters) and went on the ride to getting her memories back with her. She re-learns relationships that she has forgotten & rekindles romance with the man of her dreams. This book has everything that a reader would ever ask for in a book.

    Although this book is a standalone novel, I cannot wait to read all future installments of the Heart & Soul book series. I'm sure they will be as good as Kelli's other works. Only In Time (a Mystique Antiques Novel) and the Soulmate Series are other works by Kelli that are a MUST READ!!!

    I cannot tell you how much I loved this book, but please do yourself a favor & pick it up & read it!!!

    All I can say is Kelli McCracken blew my mind but in a good way. WOW! So AMAZING!

    In Heartstrings we meet Jo, who has suffered a traumatic accident and she can't remember anything. All she knows is her reason for being is gone, how can she create music again when she can't play the piano ever again.

    She knows everyone around her is keeping things from her and everytime she tries to remember it just hurts her more. Then enter this mysterious person named Adam. Why does he disappear all the time, is he real? Is he a figment of her warped mind and sense of reality?

    Jo feels like she is losing what little control she has until Paxton shows up on her doorstep. He looks so much like Adam but who is he really and what is he to her. She feels so connected to him and shares her fears, but who is Paxton really and who is Adam?

    In this book Kelli takes us on emotional self discovery as we travel the path right next to Jo. We experience her pain and the frustration of not knowing who she is or who she was for the past few years. The way this story weaves around you and becomes one in your heart is amazing. This book had me feeling so much emotion and at one point I couldn't see the words through my tears.

    I am in awe and wonder of Kelli's Storytelling Talent. I fell in love with her books with the Soulmate Series, the love affair continued in the Mystique Antiques Series and now with the Heart & Soul Series; I see myself becoming more and more of a super fan of Kelli McCracken's. I wish I could give this book a MILLION STARS!!! Unfortunately I am limited to five.

    Be prepared Kelli because I plan on stalking you for a very long time!!!

Her pity party was way too long and too profound for the circumstances. Her response to adversity was a massive overreaction that never ended. She was seriously insistent on instant gratification or she'd rather die. Good grief!

    I really loved this book. Kellie McCraken is a great author. Can you imagine waking up not knowing where you were? Well Jocelyn Hayes was sort of awake, knew she was somewhere and knew she was in pain, and knew her name. Jocelyn struggled to remember the last few hours of her life. Jocelyn finally realized where she was and wasn't sure if her brother Brighton was the reason behind this or not. Jocelyn finally sees her hand see how bad it looks and the only thought that comes into her head is that she will never play piano again. Brighton (Jocelyn's brother) takes her home and gets her settled. Jocelyn questions him as to what happened to cause the accident but he won't tell her, instead tells her it is better if she remembers on her own. Throughout the book Jocelyn struggles with bits and pieces of her memories trying to figure out what happened. Really sucks that she can't even remember her best friend, but it is awesome that he friend comes moves in to help her with her therapy and hopes that during the therapy she will start remembering what happened. My goodness the ups and downs that this character goes through, just tugs at your heart. The fact that two people can love each other so much that even though one does not remember the other can communicate with her even while he is in a coma. This was just a very phenomenal book, written by a phenomenal writer. I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!

    I got this book from Amazon and I have to say I never looked back, the whole book was very sensitively written from the first page to the last! I thoroughly agree with the point that it doesn't do ANY patent good to be told what happened to them although it might have been a good idea to at least tell them how they ended up in hospital--as in if they'd been in an accident or something (not necessarily what caused said accident). The whole story was so 'real' it made me wonder if something like this had happened to Kelli McCracken, if not then she's got one brilliant take on life. Out of all the books I've read this is one book I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to other people. I give it 10/10
