Unexpected Heroine is the part two in the Unexpected Trilogy (formerly duet). This is the continuation of Tomer and Lettie's love story. However, the Unexpected Trilogy can be read on its own, outside the rest of the Redleg Security Series if you so choose (but it's better as part of the complete series).

You guys, Jackie did it again. The wait for this book has been a long time coming, but I SWEAR it is 1000% worth it. The way I giggled through it, the way I cried at points, the way I wanted to throw it all away because I was so mad at it but I HAD to see it through. You aren’t gonna want to miss this installment, and the final part that will be here soon! Give violet and Tomer a chance and come fall in love with them like I did! You won’t be disappointed! I promise.

    Grabs you by the heart and doesn't let go! I love these characters so much! Jackie Walker has a very engaging writing style, but she takes this one to the next level. As loveable and sweet, and naughty as Tomer and Lettie were in Unexpected Hero, Unexpected Heroine takes us a step further and explores the complexities of trauma and caregiving. Kelsey Navarro Foster and Aaron Shedlock continue Tomer and Lettie's story brilliantly. Plan to block out a serious chunk of time for this one, because its going to be hard to stop once you start.

    Narrators Aaron Shedlock and Kelsey Navarro Foster continue their brilliant portrayals of Tomer & Lottie in Unexpected Heroine (Part 2 of the Unexpected Trilogy).

    Kelsey Navarro Foster plays Lettie with a tenderness and vulnerability that truly highlights the essence of Lettie.

    Aaron Shedlock as Tomer skillfully conveys his sexy, protective and vulnerable sides.

    The duo does an impeccable job of navigating the complexities of both the characters and the sometimes sensitive topics woven into the storyline. They capture the tone of the steamy scenes, the heartfelt scenes as well as the lighter ones.

    I cannot recommend this audiobook enough. It will have you laughing, crying and swooning in all the best ways.

    Unexpected Heroine is Book 2 in the Unexpected Trilogy, which is part of the Redleg Security Series.

    It is the continuation of Tomer and Lettie’s epic love story.

    The story picks up with Lettie’s rescue from a horrific situation. In the days following, Tomer realizes that while he is able to attend to the external wounds that she’s suffering, he is not equipped to deal with her internal torment, as he still has scars of his own from past trauma.

    Tomer has loved Lettie from afar for years. Lettie loves Tomer with a fierceness that is tested when she discovers she may not truly know him, even something as basic as his real name.

    Unexpected Heroine is an intense exploration of how much a strong love can withstand and still survive. It is a perfect reminder that love is not always easy or perfect, but there are the ones that are truly worth fighting for.

    As usual, the author hits you in all the feels, delivering the perfect blend of spice, suspense, angst and laughter. It is absolutely worth the emotional ups and downs and I cannot wait for the conclusion in Unexpected Redemption.

    Unexpected Heroine is the second installment of the Unexpected trilogy. Not only is the theme of Tomer and Lettie’s story Unexpected (title), but the fact that this story developed into a trilogy is also unexpected. I can’t think of a more perfect example of how an author’s characters and stories can evolve into much more than initially planned.

    In Unexpected Heroine, Tomer and Lettie are living and dealing with the aftermath of Redleg Security’s increased conflict with the men who abducted her and the effects of their collective childhood traumas as their relationship develops.  Tomer also lives with the guilt associated with the sins of his past.

    Written in alternating third person, I appreciate being in the heads of both Tomer and Lettie.  It’s fascinating to read how characters perceive the same interactions. I can’t even count how often I was chuckling because Tomer and Lettie misunderstood each other.

    This book is vivid, exciting, heart-wrenching, and undoubtedly triggering for some audiences, so please read the trigger warning (even though there are topic spoilers).  Unexpected Heroine has seriously superb story-telling and editing.  Slightly less typical of a Redleg novel, this book has a smaller quantity of steamy moments due to the plot and thematic content as a second installment novel.  This is not a novel that is absent of steam. You will be delighted.

    This second book in Letty and Tomer’s story picks up right after book one and is packed with heat, passion, and angst. Letty’s healing journey unfolds with Tomer by her side, and we learn more about his past too. Jackie Walker’s signature sass and steam are all here, but this book takes her writing to a deeper level. Can’t wait for book 3!

    This is the 2nd book in the Letty and Tomer story and takes place in the immediate aftermath of book 1. It is hot, spicy, passionate, filed with angst, and leaves you wanting more! Lettie is processing her rescue and moving thru healing her trauma with Tomer at her side. The way Jackie has written these characters and their story makes you ache and cheer for them. As Lettie navigates her trauma, she becomes stronger and finds herself again. As she's healing and growing, Tomer begins to open up and we find out more about his past. While this is definitely a Jackie Walker book with snark, sass, and spicy red hot moments, this book takes her writing in a new direction and a higher level. Book 3 for Lettie and Tomer can't come fast enough!

    Tomer and Lettie’s second book is very good. Be prepared with your favorite drinks, snacks, and tissues! Watching Tomer and Lettie work through the aftermath of both the events in Unexpected Hero and the rest of their lives was full of all the feels. Getting to see friends from previous books and even a brief Amos-hole cameo. So really, make sure you’ve read the previous books and get to reading this one!

    My rating for the audio is 5 stars. Aaron and Kelsey have knocked it out of the park yet again. They bring more depth and a level of feelings that I really enjoyed. I can’t imagine anyone else voicing Tomer and Lettie.
