    This book was dirty, and sexy, and took voyeurism to the hot roommate level. I’m not one for the dominant thing myself. But the way Alex J. Adams wrote it in this book… There are no appropriate words I can use in this review. I can just say I was there for it. In the book. It’s just one of those books that you read and keep reading because you know it’s a smexy book and you’re waiting to see what’s coming next. I’ll tell you… all levels of H.A.W.T!

    I liked the story. Xavier was a kick. I liked that even though he’s the clear hottie there’s a lot more to him than his looks. And Ben… just has so many layers. As much as I liked Xavier, Ben was my favorite. He was unexpected.

    Again, Alex J. Adams came out swinging. She’s giving me whiplash with her writing in the best way. Her books often stay with me for a while as her stories have a profound effect on me. This one was a much lighter read in comparison to her usual work but that said she managed to, I hate to use the word surprise as I know she’s an exceptional writer, but… she definitely knows how to keep me intrigued no matter what she writes.

    Ben and Xavier are roommates that are secretly, then not so secretly obsessed with one another. I have to say, the tension is spot on as things between them become more heated. I liked that it was an organic progression and that we got to see the story through the eyes of both Ben and Xavier.

    The steam is perfection for the way the story is written and it certainly had me needing a cold shower and a smoke. 🥵 🥵 🥵

    This is what I like to call a palate cleanser type of story. It's quick, cute, and full of spice. I enjoy reading this and it's fun if you're looking for something with high heat but not much character development. Ben and Xavier live together with Xavier renting a room from Ben. Ben feels a bit bad creeping on his roommate due as he's also the landlord. Xavier tries to get in compromising positions so Ben will see. It's all a bit of cat and mouse until finally someone makes the first move. There was some external story with friends and family but it kind of slowed down the pace between the main characters.

    If you're looking for something quick and easy with well done heat, then you'll definitely want to pick this one up!

    I love Ben and Xavier! From the moment they layed eyes on each other they were OBSESSED! But neither one giving in right away. The slow burn is what makes it so explosive when they finally give into the temptation. Xavier brought out the humor in the story with his antics trying to get Ben to notice him.     This a very wonderfully steamy read, that part of the story definitely works. The two main characters are interesting and likable enough, but their connection felt forced. I could have done with a bit less from the side characters like Ava and aunt Edith, in favor of developing the relationship between Ben and Xavier. It does have a cute ending and the heat factor was excellent.

    Ben and Xavier’s story is an excellent little novella and I’d highly recommend it especially if you are in the mood to kick back for an hour or two and escape reality into something light and very steamy. Both MC are wonderfully written and very loveable and I loved the supporting cast of characters too. Great to see this author continuing to bring different types of stories to their growing back catalogue and I’m excited to see what they write next.

    If you’re looking for a high heat, low drama MM romance, then look no further than His Dirty Obsession by Alex J Adams!
    This novella is hot from start to finish as Ben and Xavier navigate their attraction to each other when Xavier moves in with Ben as a lodger.

    Ben is instantly attracted to Xavier and can’t help admiring him. At first he doesn’t know Xavier is gay and tries to fight it, thinking it’d be wrong to pursue his lodger anyway, but he’s constantly watching him, constantly aroused, and constantly driven to distraction.

    Little does he know that Xavier is fighting the same battle but, unlike him, Xavier likes to tantalize and tease Ben by practicing for his upcoming role as a stripper in front of him and leaving the bathroom door open while he showers.

    Once these two give in to the sexual tension between them, all bets are off as Ben’s dominant side comes out and Xavier loves every minute of it!

    While there is a little drama due to Ben’s “friend with benefits”, His Dirty Obsession is a super spicy story complete with flirting, teasing, voyeurism, exhibitionism, and a happily ever after.

    This book had some good ideas and some sexy scenes but it wasn’t very polished. Too many vague references and wandering plot lines that didn’t fit the flow. Things with Richard were oddly rushed and not fleshed out enough but then he was given too much weight later. Too much angst about ‘I shouldn’t, it’s not right with my lodger’ that felt contrived. And my pet peeve: vague timelines. The play is in a few weeks or a few days, which is it? They’ve been together for weeks or is it a weekend? Have they fallen for each other in just 2 weeks or is it 2 month? It makes for a messy storyline. The characters themselves also need proper development. This book had a lot of potential, but needs some work.

    This story, and I'm not sure if it qualifies for the name novella or it's a regular novel, all I know is it was over too darn soon. It's hot, sexy as heck, and very touching. The attraction between home owner Ben and lodger Xavier is burning and about to boil over, and the result is hot and crazy passion, phew! I loved this, a teensy bit slow at first, but that was me eager to get to the sexy side, but it's a great story and a truly lovely read. This is an adorably sweet and sexy romance where one man thinks he's not good enough for that 'happily ever after' feeling and the other thinks very differently.
