The Hitman's Guide to Righting Wrongs While Causing Mayhem Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 1,595 ratings

Leland
Growing up, I was taught that getting too close to someone would be my downfall. But I’ve proven that wrong now that I’m happily married to Jackson, the greatest man in the world. The issue is that mayhem always seems to find me (which is definitely not my fault), and this time, it comes in the form of a woman looking for her daughter. What starts as a simple missing persons case turns into so much more, forcing me to rely on my found family and others, including a muscley “bear” who will definitely not whisk away my husband with his irritatingly sexy accent—I mean, yes, I’m very focused on this case… Jackson, don’t look at me like that.

Jackson
While Leland is “code potatoing” (whatever that means on his strange cheat sheet), I’m left questioning what he’s gotten himself into this time. At least he’s willing to let me assist him, even if he’s still positive that I should just “sit pretty” and let him handle everything. But with the girl missing, he knows we need to work together to determine whose game we’re playing because not everything is as it seems. Of course, when one gets involved with Leland, nothing is ever simple. But maybe that’s just the way I like it.

Contains: speed walking up way too many stairs while holding pointy objects, feel-better cookies that didn’t turn out quite right, Spanish that definitely isn’t Spanish, and lots of long-suffering people being swept up in Leland’s shenanigans once more.

I have really enjoyed every book in this series, but I think this one is my favorite. The witty banter is laugh-out-loud funny in all the books, and Leland's expanding family group is heartwarming. Watching his relationship with Jackson develop has been a beautiful journey in accepting people for exactly who they are, and I'm looking forward to reading more.

Leland's found family has such a hold on me, and while I of course enjoy his and Jackson's relationship, Leland and Ava have me in love! Her reluctant acceptance of him is EVERYTHING. She bought him matching pajamas!! Made him cookies!! And omg, their conversation while kidnapped was one of the funniest things I've read!

I love, love, love this series. If you want lighthearted with an occasional punch in the "feels," this is absolutely perfect.

Ok, here we go again; more Leland, Jackson, Henry and the squad. I wasn't sure what was really going on until the end of this book. Very well thought out, twisted, and another gun's coming tomorrow! Very entertaining stories, can't wait for the next one!

This one was a lot of fun. It was all over the place. I usually like keeping up with the mystery as we go along but even these guys were confused as to what was happening and who was lying to them. In the end, they figure it out, Lila is found, Prim gets money, Cassel plays with Leland’s gun and Ava gets held hostage. Another great addition to the series.

    4.5*

There are a few authors I read who I hope will donate their bodies to science after they pass, so that their brains can be studied. Helena Hunting, TJ Klune, and Alice Winters are the top three I want dissected. Although I'll probably be long gone by the time that happens, it needs to be done for the greater good. I cannot be the only one who wonders what the heck goes through their minds, how they come up with the crazy, wacky, zany things they do.

The Hitman's Guide to Righting Wrongs While Causing Mayhem is another fantabulous addition to The Hitman's Guide series by Alice Winters. As usual I found myself laughing out loud multiple times thanks to the situations Ms. Winters puts these characters in. Not to mention the feels! Anytime Leland's past, and even Cassel's, is brought up she always hits me right in the feels.

Leland and Jackson once again find themselves caught up in something that is definitely more convoluted than it first appears. And that's where the fun begins! So.Much.Fun. It really wouldn't be a Hitman's book without this group finding themselves in the most ridiculous situations, Leland-made or otherwise. I love that no matter what he asks of them, they all just go with it- although not without some grumbling along the way of course. I really love how much Jackson, Henry, Cassel, and even Jeremy, love Leland. After everything he's gone through in life he deserves everything!

The mystery of the missing daughter had me curious and a bit confused up until the end. There were a few times I wasn't sure exactly what was happening, but honestly, this book was so freaking fun I didn't mind that I got a little lost. Spending time with this found family is one of my favorite things, no matter if they're solving crimes, finding the lost, or driving each other crazy- bring it on.

Seriously, it is so good! I absolutely love all the moments Leland spends with his found family. While the mystery plot is good too, what did it for me is the fun, over the top funny, friends/family moments. Alice Winters excels at writing funny moments and I laughed out loud so much. Read it. Read the whole series!

What can you say that has not been said about Leland and Jackson, just perfect, sweet, funny, gorgeous and brilliant.
The story was very interesting and kept you guessing the whole way through it.
I loved that all the characters were all involved and that you could be read a book and be so engrossed that the day passes by while you smile and laugh throughout the day. Feels good.

OMG. She’s done it AGAIN. Every time I think that Alice Winter’s’ writing can’t get any better and then she hits another one out of the park. I have learned that I have to read the Hitman books during the day because I laugh too much and wake everyone up if I read them in bed. Leland has to be one of my favorite fictional characters (even though I can hear him in my head screaming “Fictional?”).
I read a lot. Like two books a day and they mostly don’t make enough of an impression on me, even if I enjoy them, for me to remember them all that long after I finish them. I have a terrible memory which contributes to this. Alice Winter’s’ Leland and the characters around him have drilled into my heart and found a permanent place there because they are so absolutely fun to be around, even when they are not being funny. I so hope that this series keeps going for a long long time.
If you like mm romance and haven’t read these books what the heck have you been doing? Hurry up and get the books and dive into them. You can thank me later. Enjoy!

Love, love this series and can’t get enough of Leland and Jackson. The minor characters (and I don’t like calling them that as to me they could hold their own in a story) are just fantastic! Brilliant fun 🤩 xx
