The Ragged Slum Princess (The Victorian Orphans Saga Book 2) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 1,509 ratings

When her father’s secret brings ruin to the entire family, Abbie soon finds herself battling far greater threats than poverty.

In the eyes of their neighbours, life appeared to be good for the Lee family. Henry and Mary Lee always worked hard, so they could afford to buy the very best for their two daughters, Abbie and Jane.

But then an unlucky accident leads to the discovery of a shameful secret that Henry has kept from his family. And it plunges everyone into ruin and tragedy.

Now, Abbie must fight – not just to put food on the table, but to keep both herself and her sister safe from the evil clutches of wicked men.

Amidst all her misery, will she be brave enough to take a chance on love with the handsome and wealthy Mr Thompson?

Or will she make the same mistake as her father, and hide secrets from the very people who care the most about her?

‘The Ragged Slum Princess’ is a clean and sweet Victorian romance novel and the second book in ‘The Victorian Orphans Trilogy’ after ‘The Courtesan’s Maid’.

Hope Dawson’s stories will delight readers of other historical romance authors such as Dilly Court, Rosie Goodwin and Emma Hornby.

Hope Dawson adores historical romance stories, and she loves the Victorian era. So you could say it was written in the stars for her to create Victorian romance sagas.

Why the Victorians?

Because they're so much like us! People in Victorian Britain lived in a time and a place that was changing rapidly, due to major technological advances.

Just like now.

Their world was turned upside down, and they sometimes struggled to make sense of it all.

Just like we do.

Fortunes were made, and lost. Hearts were broken, and mended.

Just like today.

And throughout it all, brave girls and women stayed strong - and kept believing in a better future.

Hope Dawson's sagas are a tribute to the power of love and the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
