Huck: A Coach's Daughter Forbidden Romance: A New York Players Novel (The New York Players Book 5) Kindle Edition

4.3 out of 5 stars 1,113 ratings

You don’t date the Coach’s daughter. It’s the first thing you learn in Hockey 101.
Except whoever made that rule had never met Nora Campbell.
She came into my life like the blondest ray of sunshine, and I thought all my dreams had come true.
Then I found out who she was.
For two excruciating years I’ve crushed on her from afar, keeping my distance while she’s been working her magic rehabbing my injured teammates.
For two years I’ve been concentrating on my game; honing my skills, my speed and my strength to become the best defenceman in the league.
It all pays off the day I’m made Captain.
Unfortunately for me, it’s the same day an injury forces me to seek help from the one person who definitely shouldn’t be putting their hands on me, and the only person I want.
The more time we spend together, the harder it becomes to resist her. And the harder it becomes to remember the one rule I’m supposed to follow above all else.
Because it’s the one rule that was made to be broken.

Lulu started writing by accident, and somehow found herself stuck in a fictional world of ice hockey, baseball and billionaires. A world she has no plans to leave. She's the creator of The New York Players Series, The Tuesday Club Series, and The New York Lions - the worst team in the M.L.B.

More recently she's ventured across the Atlantic to where her latest novel is set - the beautiful cities of Oxford and Cambridge, and the annual rowing showdown on the River Thames.

She's a big fan of strong heroines, because those fierce alphas need someone to keep them in check. You'll find her navigating her way through Romance Land one HEA at a time, and trying to figure out the latest social media platform she needs to post to.

Coachs Daughter Hockey Romance Pining Kittens Captain Jersey -the "my jersey" always gets me I can't believe this is book five!! I have loved each of these books and have flown through reading each of them. They are fun, full of banter, and each hockey stud falls so hard Huck is so bashfully cute. Between his sentiments and sweet words, his relationship with Abby and bromance with Carter and Brogan he is a big softee and I absolutely loved him Him and Nora made an adorable pair and were an effortless couple. After two years of not taking the chance they fell hard and fast I loved how they were so smitten with eachother and trusted eachother completely when things got rocky

This was a nice wrap up to the series, although I wish there was more to see what happens with Carter and Brogan. But this one with Huck and Nora and the way they can't stay away from each other after two years of pining is electric. The way he fights for her and their relationship is amazing and having an older woman mentor/mother figure gives comedy along with the other boys.

Love Lulu's writing and excited for the next series of books.

This series was a good one. I knew what was coming since Felix's book but I was excited for to see how this developed into a relationship. Although I expected a bit more secrecy and spice, it was a good book. I specially liked that there wasn't a third act break up and ended up wanting to see more of Brogan's situation and Abby and Coach but I understand this wasn't their book.

I love Lulu's books and can't wait to read more of them.

Book: Huck (The New York Players, Book 5)
    Author: Lulu Moore
    Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
    Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Nora Campbell knows a thing or two about being ghosted 👻, the closest she has come to “love at first sight” went radio silent after canceling their first date. Huck Sands has experience ghosting women, one woman in particular. Truthfully, what was he supposed to do when she turned out to be his coach’s daughter? With neither of them far from each other’s mind, it isn’t until 2 years later that these two find themselves in need of the other’s help. This pair quickly find themselves in a secret relationship, but Huck can’t risk breaking the rules set by his coach. With limited opportunities to come out as an official couple, it’s only a matter of time before the other shoe (or should we say skate) drops.

This coach’s daughter, hockey romance, told in a dual point of view, is a recipe for a great book - however this also left this book overly predictable. Things between Nora and Huck might not have worked out 2 years ago, but this time around things are falling into place unreasonably easy and too quickly. Don’t get us wrong, the characters are lovable, the family/friends from books 1 - 4 are appreciated & tie all the stories together, we adore Carter, Brogan & Abby, and most importantly, we still love LuLu. But this one left us with more to be desired, lacking in the drama department.

    4.5 Stars!

"You are not wearing his jersey. You're not wearing anyone's jersey. I don't care if we are figuring this out," he waved his hands in the narrow space between our bodies, "you wear mine or nothing!

My eyebrows disappeared under my bangs. "Nothing? Were you jealous of a jersey?"

"I'm jealous of anything that touches your skin when I can't, he growled.

New recent hockey romance fave right here!! This was such a fun and cute read.

Recommend this one if you like are looking for:
    • Mutual pining/ unrequited love
    • Forbidden romance/ coach's daughter
    • Sweet, terrorizing kittens
    • Hockey romance!
    • She's the team physical therapist dynamic

I don't know if there's a name for this trope, but give me a super hot and confident athlete when it comes to his sport, but a bumbling dork when it comes to the girl he loves any day!!

    Huck made my heart melt!

These two had been mutually pining for each other for years when the story starts, to the point that Huck became nervous, clumsy, and would trip over his words whenever he was around her.

And I was so here for it!

This was my first read by this author, so I hadn't read any of the previous books in the series, but was able to follow along and enjoy the story just fine.

And oh my gosh, the love story between Coach Campbell and Abby?! Please tell me we are going to get a bonus scene of their first night together. I loved them almost as much as I loved Huck and Nora!

l've got a copy of The Third Baseman, also by this author, and cannot wait to read it soon.

Would recommend this author to fans of Elle Kennedy and Kristen Callihan.

Rule #1, you don't date the coaches daughter, but Huck the Hockey Hottie does❤️‍🔥 ugh, I love him and Nora so much and the crush they've had on each other FOREVER. when they both finally gave in, BOY WAS IT STEAMY!! Their chemistry is insane and the sneaking around 🤭 and the scene where the coach finds out!! I loved this story and thought Huck was so sweet in his efforts to try to win Nora over, once he finally stopped avoiding her.

I love this author and all her books. I especially loved the earlier books in this series.
This book was nice, lovely, I enjoyed it... But I just felt like it was missing some oomf! It was building up to something and then I feel like that something didn't happen. Such a huge reaction from her dad and then that was that. Like I said I enjoyed it. But I wanted to LOVE IT!

A lovely read all round. Hick and Nora's romance really pulls at the heart strings. A coach's daughter and a Hockey captain, what more could go wrong...or right in this case? Throw in 2 cheeky sidekicks, a wise and witty lady, and a couple of kittens and you have the perfect story

We previously got a glimpse of Huck’s feelings towards Nora and how he ended up not acting on them. I liked how Lulu gave us a glimpse into Huck’s feelings.

I liked how Lulu put adversity into the storyline. More so than in the previous box in the series. A coaches daughter. Story is always a good one, and this one didn’t disappoint.

I didn’t fully believe that both characters had instant feelings for each other after not really having much interaction with each other. That being said, it is written about a lot, and always a nice idea for the reader.

I really enjoyed getting to see more of Brogan and Carter after the previous books in the series, I just wish we got to see more of the other main characters previously written about.

    We’re back baby!!!!!

Now don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved our detour to billionaire’s row and the baseball field but returning to the New York Players was like greeting an old friend.

Huck and Nora have been making 😍😍 at each other from the moment they met but thanks to the Coach’s rule of “hands off my daughter” nothing happen. Now 2 years, one shoulder injury, one house move, lots of awkward tension and 2 adorable kittens later, Huck and Nora are risking it all for their chance at a happily ever after!

This book gave me all the warm and fuzzy feelings. Huck and Nora were a delight to read, equal parts swoony, sweet and spicy. They perfectly balanced each other and I adored how they both fought for one another.

Brogan, Carter and Huck’s friendship gave me the same vibes as the OG NYP characters and the Tuesdays Club members so you just know that it’s going to be good when their hilarious chemistry flies of the page and your cackling with laughter at their antics.

    Honourable mentions
    ✨ Jasper’s return
    ✨ Felix & Drew’s cameo at Halloween
    ✨ Kittens
✨ Abby’s no nonsense attitude - seriously I want to grown up to be her

‘Huck Sands was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. Intense and calming. And it was hot.’

If you’ve read and loved the previous New York Players books, I guarantee you’ll love this one too.
Jasper Jacobs was the Rangers previous swoony captain, and now Huck Sands is following firmly in his footsteps.

The books in this series are my ultimate comfort reads, and Huck has definitely joined them. Reading this story is like being wrapped in a big hug by the Luluverse that you won’t ever want to leave.

Huck and Nora have been crushing on each other since they first met, but he’s just been made captain, and she’s the coach’s daughter, who also happens to work part time for the Rangers. Her Dad has warned everyone she’s off limits, and he means it.
Huck’s initial awkwardness around her is both funny and sweet, and his friends Brogan and Carter are hilarious.

I loved them both, and loved their story. It’s low angst, there’s some lovely little appearances from some of our past favourites, and you’ll have a smile on your face the whole way through.

‘Huck the Hockey Hottie’ you’re going to be all over those top hockey book boyfriend lists very soon.
