- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2022I had the honor and privilege to read Kristin Kory's poetry book, Hungry for Ghosts prior to its release. I loved it so much, I purchased the book as well. Let's just say, she had me at hello. First, I love the title and cover, which was enough to pique the interest of my dark poetic heart. Then I read the author's note and knew I'd found a kindred soul. Mind you, at this point, I hadn't read the rest of the book yet. Still, her words grabbed my heart and refused to release me. As an artist and fellow poet, I understand that the connection made with an audience occurs when they feel seen or heard. I cannot connect to works of art or poetry unless I feel as though the creator managed to tap into my heart, grab hold of my secrets, and create something just for me. Her poem, Hiding Place, is short but effective in its poignancy and left me with my mouth open. The Midnight House and Wake the Spirits, in particular, are emotionally visual in their detail. Kristin Kory's poems feel like a walk on a moonlit night. They are hauntingly beautiful, visceral, and achingly transcendent. In other words, her ghosts are our ghosts. They walk together, speak together, and heal together. Furthermore, she shows us how we all have ghosts who long to be heard and seen.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2022Sometimes we're haunted by ghosts of the past, and other times we're haunted by the funerals we have to hold again and again for the memories lost to fate. Kristin's words of love and loss reflect the bittersweet touch of the ghosts that linger. A MUST READ!
- Reviewed in the United States on August 14, 2022There’s such a poignant sense of loss and perseverance in this collection. It’s beautiful and keeps a hold over you long after you close the book. There’s so many ways to be haunted in this life and “Hungry for Ghosts” explores them all. It’s definitely worth a read.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 20, 2022These poems have touched me very deeply. There are places within that no longer have dimension, that produce thoughts that transcend words. Poetry somehow bridges that gap, somehow speaks to those places. These have that quality.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 26, 2022Love this beautiful book. Have Given copies as gifts too. Check her out.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2022This entire book speaks to my soul. And I am in absolute love with the title. Glimmer and the road are my favorites but I really do love the whole book.
