    Merkel does it again with another installment in Murder’s life that is just as magical as the name suggests!

    The whole gang is back and better than ever as NYC comes to terms with the fact that magic exists. Murder and Grant team up with the mayor and an FBI agent to attempt to ease the world into the fact that magical people are indeed living among them.

    Magician Manhattan has everything I look forward to in one of Merkel’s books: action, romance, witty banter, a fast paced plot, and a feel good ending! (Also I have had What Does the Fox Say stuck in my head for two days!)

    In lieu of spoilers, I won’t say too much, but the main thing you need to know is I loved this book! This is a must read for fans of Murder!

    I think Magical Manhattan is my favorite book thus far in the Lady Dreamscapes series. In this book, Murder deals with her pregnancy and an offer (if that’s the right word) from an FBI agent named Carter. Who is Carter, and what does he really want? At first, he says he wants Murder’s help to make Manhattan a safe haven for magical people, but he then acts in a disarming way.

    I love how smoothly the author integrates the book’s fantasy elements with normal-world elements. Murder and the other magical people have powers, and their use of these gifts feels natural if that makes sense. With each book in this series, Merkel also makes the characters feel more whole and human. This story is touching, and I await the next book!

    The Murderverse expands! In MAGICAL MANHATTAN, Murder juggles professorship, pregnancy, and politics as NYC integrates magicals into their melting-pot society. She deals with fame’s pressure while teaching at her music school, collaborating with the FBI, and navigating changes among her family and friends. Change hurts before it heals, and we follow Murder and Grant throughout their next conquered storm.

    It’s always a pleasure and privilege to reunite with the gang. I hope everyone finds a group like Murder’s found family. They are rainbow perfection across every spectrum. Everyone belongs and thrives in Merkel’s stories; he builds every soul a home.

    Touching on diversity, acceptance, forgiveness, and transformation, Merkel is the concertmaster of a kinder and more vivid alternate universe. His world is the world I hope we can reflect one day, an inspiration and aspiration for all warrior dreamers. (“I hope someday you’ll join us…”)

    This book was a blast, a smash hit, elite entertainment in a literally Noble series. Brilliantly episodic and spectacularly cinematic, this golden series receives another exceptional addition in MAGICAL MANHATTAN—with an earthshaking, explosive ending. A studio NEEDS to adapt it for screen.

    Magical Manhattan is the 4th book in the series Her Name Is Murder and I'm happy to say, the adventures are as fun, magical, and entertaining as always. What I love about these stories is the growing bonds between The Nobles and their amazing group of family and friends. One could only wish for such special and supportive friendships.

    In Magical Manhattan, school is in session and Murder has taken on many roles in her life now, not to mention, she's a soon-to-be mom! With Grant faithfully by her side and her trustworthy friends, Murder finds balance in her commitments to teaching, performing music, pregnancy and now politics. An FBI agent enlists the Nobles, to work alongside the mayor of Manhattan to introduce magic to NYC, creating a whole new set of challenges for Murder and her magical friends.

    Merkel does a fantastic job of addressing real-world issues through the passion and care of his characters. With no spoilers, let me just say Grant's speech was beautiful and powerful, welcoming people to come as they are because "we all share one identity, human".

    These books embody so much of what I enjoy in a fantasy story—time travel, magic, passion, acceptance, and friendship. I've said it before and I'll say it again; this series needs to be adapted into film/television!
