Review

Lisa (Advanced Reader) - The only thing that was predictable in this book was the all rights reserved page. Off from work due to Hurricane Francine and I devoured this book. Who knew I needed a twisty, emotional whodunit book in my life. Run, don't walk, to get your copy.

Colleen (Advanced Reader) - What an amazing mystery/thriller. I usually feel I have a strong clue on the "who did it" or what the plot twist will be, and didn't see this one coming! Character development was great, and I loved the dynamic between the detective partners! The only critique I had is that I craved even more! I read this in two days and once I picked it up, it was hard to put down! Great read!!!

Britt (Advanced Reader) - This was such a fast paced, twisty story that certainly satisfies that craving I get for a good "whodunnit" story. I couldn't put this down and kept finding myself saying "okay, one more chapter."
Idaho Fall is going to stay with me for a long time, and it's certainly going to be a story I think about often.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
This has been on my TBR for a while now…WHAT WAS I WAITING FOR?!🤣 It’s a quick read/listen and worth it! I really liked the “who did it” writing style and I was sooo sure I knew who it was…. Definitely recommend!! ——————————————— 🛑 ✋🏼 SPOILERS 👇🏼 The neighbor lady…ugh I’ve was keeping an eye on her but thought oh no maybe not but then Bob that was perfect motive. Obviously there was more to why she did it. The money, the ungrateful part of Rita etc. I was fighting for her to wake up and how she was fading away made me so sad and I accepted it … but she woke up! I was thinking if she really gets finished off after she wakes up I will be pissed 🤣 Really loved this book!!

This held my attention completely, I hate to use cliches like "twisty" but it really was, in a good way. If you've wondered what it's like to be in a coma, this book describes one possible way that could play out. I liked the characters, including minor ones, but one thing that took away a little, (I'd really give it a 4.5 if that were an option) was the fact that one narrator did all the voices. She does a great job on the main female character, but the voices of the male/female detective team were just plain awful. You get used to it because the story is worth it. But this narrator should probably not do male voices. Although, even two of the other female characters were also just off, and made to sound like bad Marilyn Monroe impersonations. Again, the actual story and dialogue are good enough to overlook this. I think the narrator was trying to make the other female voices sound as different as possible from the main one but it was just distracting.

This is a mystery, but a lesson of life too. Easy to read, and flows along nicely, but not childish. A woman is seriously hurt in a fall. Was it an accident, or was she pushed? The fun factor is when she discovers, while in a coma in hospital, she can travel out of her body. She follows along on her investigation, with two police officers. She can’t recall what happened to her, and doesn’t remember her family or friends. This is an entertaining book and keeps you interested till the ending. The hurt woman, Rita, has many revelations on her trip of discovery. Would recommend this book to anyone I know that reads.

I’m a voracious reader and have been my entire life. But lately, I find myself getting bored easily, even when reading my favorite writers. Right now I have a stack of 15 books I’ve started. I will finish but they’re just not holding my interest.

Until this one. I’m over the moon that I’ve finally found a writer who’s given me back my love of reading!! I read it in just a few hours if that tells you anything about how great this book is!! Smooth writing, genuine conversations. Hooking on to characters instantly. I feel like I’ve gone back to my childhood when I discovered the beauty of reading and the beauty of falling in love with books!!!

DJ Maughan is going to be recommended to all my friends. I’m going to get all of his books. And every one that he writes from now on. Thank you, DJ. You’ve given me back my joy!

    I’m Pat, btw.

Completely unique story telling style that held my interest from the very beginning. I found nothing predictable and highly recommend.
However, in order to read the epilogue, it is necessary to sign up for the author's newsletter which I have no interest in. I understand the reasoning, but I find this a bit rude and disrespectful. This will keep me from reading anything else by this author.

Rita Burch is an entrepreneur with a startup business valued at one billion dollars. She falls from a balcony on the eve of her business going public. Is it a convenient accident for some, or was she pushed?

Found broken and unconscious, she's left comatose and hanging onto life. She realises in this state that she can leave her body and listen in on the ongoing investigation. There are a heap of suspects in this twisty whodunit, and Rita learns some home truths about herself and others.

Will she remember what really happened? And if she does, can she wake up before it's too late? This is a truly unique concept for a story, and I thoroughly enjoyed the investigation, guessing, and some very touching, heartfelt moments, too. Great job, D J Maughan! A very easy 5 stars!

This is a really good story with the comatose victim following the investigation.
I would have given it 5 stars but the
ending even with the bonus epilogue could have been better.
It really needed a couple of decent chapters taking them into the future.
