Brought up in a relatively small town in Hertfordshire, C F White managed to do what most other residents try to do and fail—leave.

She eventually settled for pie and mash, cockles and winkles and a bit of Knees Up Mother Brown to live in the East End of London; securing a job and creating a life, a home and a family.

She writes gritty British based stories about imperfect men falling in love against the odds and has been accused of sprinkling a little humour into them too.

Honestly, I stopped and started reading several times due to Kane's gut wrenching back story. White's writing makes his pain, suffering, and guilt palpable and I am glad that I waited to finish Kane and Declan's story. Doing so allowed me to become an observer, as if watching a movie, no longer simply reading words on a page. It is rare for writing to be so descriptive without verbosity. Fortunately, there were plenty of laughs and hot, steamy scenes amongst the tear inducing painful ones. I learned new words, although I'm still a bit fuzzy on the meaning of "craic". Irish Charm is a fresh take on older characters with no twinks in sight. For full disclosure, I did receive an advance reader copy, which in no way influenced my review.

    The PTSD Kane was going through was hard to read, but meeting Declan the publican, touring his part of Ireland, and meeting his regular “punters” at the bar made the story that much more enjoyable and relatable. A heartfelt story with all the feels.

    This is a beautiful story. Kane is full of pain and anguish that he slowly gets help recovering from after meeting and befriending Declan. Both men have issues from the past that haunt their present. Following them as they develop a friendship that transitions to more made for a great story.

    This was a new-to-me author so I didn't really know what to expect other than what I had read in the blurb but man did it take me by surprise. I didn't expect to FLOVE it so much!! I completely fell in love with this couple!!

    The story was a bit heavier than I expected but I was definitely down for it.

    One of the mc's, Kane, was an ex-military wounded warrior...in recovery for the past four years from his injuries, grieving the loss of a loved one and the loss of the career. You could feel his pain and heartache! He was so emotional and it just broke my heart. You just want to wrap him up and make it all better for him!!

    Then you have the other mc, Declan, the flirty Irish publican playboy who can pull the perfect pint of Quiness, sing and dance to an Irish tune with the best of them, and probably talk you into anything (or is that just me lol...I do love a dirty flirt and have been known to succumb to their charming ways)!!

    Anyways, Kane heads to Donegal, Ireland to let's say bring some closure to some of the turmoil in his life. To possibly help him heal and recover so that maybe he can move forward. And here is where Declan comes in..the owner of Mccafferty's bar that also has rooms for rent. Even though the chemistry is on for these two they have a bit of a slow burn but dang once they get together it was lit!

    So I don't usually go into much detail about the steam but I just have say it was hot 🤤🥵💦🔥. Like it was that desperate throw you up against the wall gotta have you now anyway/everyway I can kind of steam then on to the soul searing stare you in the eyes making love kinda steam and they had me melting in a puddle over here needing a smoke after.😂

    Before I go, as I've already said too much, I do need to say the setting was beautiful, all the characters were great, the banter amazing, plus the drama from living in a small community and knowing everyone was the best. Lots of ups and downs with the best epilogue/hea ever!! Incase you couldn't tell, I highly recommend!!

    What a wonderful way to visit our globe! So far in their Flying into Love series, C.F. White has taken us to a rural French village, a Spanish tourist destination, and, in Irish Charm, to Donegal County in the Republic of Ireland. These stories all stand alone, and you can read them in whatever order you like.

    C.F. White truly has a gift at describing things! This historic and picturesque waterfront town, centered around a traditional Irish pub, is filled with quirky and loveable characters. From the glorious vistas, to the camaraderie of folks enjoying their pints of Guinness, C.F. White paints quite a picture.

    As marvelous as all that is, Irish Charm is getting five stars from me due to the absolutely beautiful hurt/comfort story of these two main characters.

    Kane’s tale is incredibly powerful, and I got so much out of his journey. A wounded warrior, Kane is hoping to find peace in the birthplace of his dead lover, Cian. As he gradually acquaints himself with the people who mattered to Cian, Kane begins to put himself out there. Interacting with these folks, establishing friendships, and finally connecting with a new love interest, C.F. White shows us there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for Kane.

    Declan has never invested enough time in any man to find happiness lasting more than one night. After having his heart broken by his first love, Declan never wanted to be vulnerable again. Plus, all of Declan’s needs are not getting met through the dating apps, and it’s become an issue in more ways than one.

    I’m totally blown away by how powerfully these two men connect. First, in an emotional way - establishing a friendship where we can see how much they care about each other. And, finally, through a physical connection, which will knock your sock off. LOL, seriously, C.F. White writes superb erotica, and Irish Charm is smoking hot!

    C.F. White promises the warm Australian sun (and an age-gap) in the fourth installment of Flying into Love, I can hardly wait!

    This is so much better than the first two books of this series. It goes through all the emotions from loss, sadness, fear and happiness. All the different characters gelled so much more, I didn't want to put the book down.
