This is my second book from Rob Jones 'Joe Hawke' series and it really delivers.
It follows on from The Vault of Poseidon but builds on the intrigue hinted at in the first book of the series.
It's a roller coaster of an action and adventure ride with an enemy that's really playing for keeps this time and it's up to Joe Hawke and his team to stop them.
A highly recommended series and I can't wait to finish Tomb of Eternity.

Another good book, and we are building towards the end of the Immortality trilogy.
This time the fight happens on the eastern side of the world. And we have a new person joining the fray. The dragonfly.
I am very intrigued to know how that character progresses, and what history does she have with Hawke.

The team loses a member of the team which is sad. But it keeps things real, and everyone on their toes.

I like the "Hawke" series story lines with regard to mythology and action. The script is too overloaded with flip remarks and useless chatter that tends to cheapen the story. So, I hope that as the stories go on the characters deepen.

I like the storyline, but all of the characters have long, stupid conversations at all of the wrong times. When tracking down bad guys in buildings or tunnels, you don't have a running chat. This just lets everyone know when you are coming. No wonder they keep getting caught.

This is a very enjoyable book to read. The characters are a little shallow but the action helps cover the missing depth. I am very disappointed with the lack of editing and proof reading. If a book is good enough to print take the time to get the errors corrected.

A fun follow up to the original that offers a lot of bang (bang) for your buck. Rob Jones continues to establish Hawke and company as entertaining and vulnerable characters while delivering the great action fans expect.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Good One But...

The second in the "immortality" trilogy is another good story and sees the return of some old faces, some new faces and leaves a cliffhanger-and-a-half going in to book three. It's still very much in the action movie in book form style of Andy McDermott or Matthew Reilly and, for me, that's not a bad thing.

    BUT

What the heck is going on with the spell checking on these things. For two books now the word "ears" has been replaced with "hears" and there are countless (well, undoubtedly someone has counted them because that's what Good Reads or Amazon reviewers do) other typos that pull you out of the narrative while you try and work out what it should have actually said.

    Still, roll on book three...

Unlike the first book, this is more than a series of non-stop car chases. It isn't short of action but it seems rather more thought has gone into it and that isn't a bad thing.

It does seem that proof readers are thin on the ground in self-publishing circles. The typos are here too but I've seen far worse and they don't detract too much.

Generally it's the sort of book you may find hard to put down and as before, it segues into the start of the next book. Could be annoying but as all three of the trilogy are available, it need not be. Good read but not high literature. Jane Austen and Charles Dickens are safe but this does have more action than either of them.

Couldn't put it down, from start to finish was a wonderful read.
Pure escapism, and I loved every word of it.
Have found a few authors, very similar in the past few months.
If you enjoy full all out action, you'll love this book, and the series is amazing!
And if you don't? Then just try it honestly you'll love them.

Not a bad story but again we end with the action in a cave. He is like a cat with 9 life,s. Still it was enjoyable and some of the characters read well.
