Great Story
Looking for a Feisty Heroine with a lot of personality? What about a hero the Heroine is tasked with keeping out of trouble? Jessica Calvary has that impossible task and she will never make it easy for him. Jack Kingsley is dealing with his own demons. This book has everything you could possibly want in a story. Pain, real people with real flaws, and second chances. This story will break you and put you back together. It was apparently just what this gal needed. I'm going to have to order the paperback to put on my shelf and I only put special books there. Grab your copy today and you won't be disappointed.

So very happy they got back together, with all the problems Jack was going through with his drinking and his bipolar disorder and Jessica with all her emotional issues they really needed a break just too bad the way it all happened. But it made for a good read!

    I have read my fair share of books that of course have the couple as enemies, become lovers, wait for another disaster so they can break up again. Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
    Thank goodness this story is different. The turmoil happened six years before the beginning of the story, but as a kick butt, take no prisoners that is Jessica, she now relies on her snark and inner strength after the devastating break up with actor Jack Kingsley.
    Jack for his part had been fighting demons by drinking and drugging to get through the Hollywood lifestyle, which led him to destroy what he had with Jessica.
    Addiction leads people to do self destructive things to others but mostly themselves and the author does a wonderful job of acknowledging Jack' s behavior and road to recovery without preaching. When Jack and Jessica are reunited, they get to know each other again, another part of the story I liked, they don't automatically jump each other. Feelings are expressed, truths are revealed and wait for it, this couple communicates . Hallelujah!! Jack does an amazing job getting Jessica to love him again , not easy because even though she admits to loving him, he has to earn it. Good supporting characters added to the enjoyment .

    Nobody does a hot alpha male like Nina Levine but when you throw in a rich and delicious one that can melt your panties with his words and actions you know your in for the long haul until the very end. Now add in a ballbusting women who can bring men to their knees in and out of the office, and who rules her roost the same way, you know this is going to be explosive.

    This is a book about a past, a present and a future. It’s not all smiles and roses, love and kisses (but they do come later ;)).     Book 1 in this series was good but not my favorite. I read a couple novels & ended back here because I wanted to give this author & book a chance. I’m so glad I did!!

    I wasn’t sure how I would handle the addiction side of this & the mental health. I was afraid it would be to much a trigger. I was wrong. Nina Levine handled all of it with beautiful words & grace! The steamy is 🌶️ & goodness this was a fun read!
    Also, I was worried at first how the “cheating” would be handled as well. & I was impressed with the story line. I wasn’t disappointed with how the author put it into the story.

    We first learn of Jack in Ashton’s book so I highly recommend you read in order.

    Jack has suffered with addiction for many years. Life in the public eye is not easy for him or those around him. He messed up and lost the only woman he truly loved and now that he is trying to get better, he is determined to win her over.

    Jessica loved Jack…actually she loves Jack but he broke her heart years ago and now she is afraid he will do it again. But there are some secrets that she doesn’t know.

    From Ashton’s book, your heart pours out for Jack and the friends that want to help him. They know he has it in him but he has to believe it. Love how much his friends stuck with him.

    This book is about twice as long as it needs to be, if not more. I like the characters just fine, but I am at around the halfway point and it just goes on and on and on... Way past the point of another conflict coming into the story. It seems as if they have solved all of that and now we are just going through the mundane details of their every day life. It's a shame that this book turned out this way because I like the characters better than in the previous book. (Ok, Ashton was fine but Lorelei was annoying as hell). I have left this one alone for now but will probably come back to it.

    Aside from making this far too long, here is another piece of advice: don't include the male character's (or in this case characters' because apparently this woman gets around) former bimbo as part of the storyline. Women don't really enjoy reading about that. I know I don't.

    This one took me a bit by surprise if I'm honest, all in a good way!!!
    Firstly want to address how well this author portrayed some big issues like addiction and recovery and also mental health issues. Dealing with these real issues can be tricky to get right but I am so impressed with how well this author did!
    I think Jack was the biggest surprise for me with his more subtle level of alpha! He was so much more subtle then say Ashton from the previous book who was out and proud with his alpha demanding ways!! Jack didn't need to be bold and bossy but he certainly got his way quite often and in his own way, I loved it. He complemented Jessica's level of bold and bossy and dominance well and didn't buckle under her huge personality, which I adored in her.
    Jack had a level of sensitivity to him that made me swoon at times.
    Jessica was fabulous, really independent, sassy and honest. I loved that even though being mad at Jack she could still love him and move forward. I loved her devotion to her job and Jack's support of that, this couple for me gave me all the feels and I loved them so hard!!
    Overall a really great book that I highly recommend, I'm loving escaping with an Alpha!!!

    The hero and heroine in this book are fantastic. The banter between the two is witty, sexy and full of emotion. I loved the fact that the author took time for the couple to reconnect and make peace with their past mistakes. The character development was authentic and believable. I wish the author had taken the opportunity to address Jack’s bipolar disorder. It is merely mentioned in passing a few times instead of addressed in a way that would have added depth to his character and the story. There are numerous times when some detailed backstory would have been helpful in clarifying the motivation of certain supporting characters. At times the reader feels at a loss, as if something should be obvious but we have not been given the requisite information to make sense of the situation. Overall this is a very sweet read with amazing main characters.
