In her thesis, she studied Luis Buñuel and Salavdor Dali and discovered her love for Spanish culture and its arts. At the tender age of 20, Karla took the plunge into entrepreneurship and opened her first shop, Hemlines, a casual fashion boutique. In 2001, Karla opened a new chapter in her life by marrying her long-time Spanish boyfriend and transplanting her artistic vision to the sun-drenched shores of Spain.
