The Day Jesus Moved Next Door Kindle Edition
In Sterling City, Iowa, a spiritual battle unfolds. Darkness clashes ferociously against the brilliance of God’s light. Amidst the conflict, Jesus of Nazareth moves into the old farmhouse at 30 Summit Avenue. His eyes burn with intensity as He fights for those He meets. And the enemy is not happy.
As the lives on Summit Avenue intertwine, Jesus ignites hope, pushes boundaries, and opens doors to redemption and self-discovery. Amidst the struggles and challenges they face, the residents find themselves on a transformative journey, but not necessarily the journey they'd like to take.
Become a resident of Summit Avenue today.
Praise for "The Day Jesus Moved Next Door":
"Kicking back with this book felt like sitting on a porch swing watching a storm roll in—comforting in an unexpected way. It wasn't just about spiritual battles or divine drop-ins; it was more about the folks next door figuring life out one hard knock at a time. The mix of everyday drama with those big, universe-pondering questions got me thinking more than I expected. It wasn't all heavy, though—the laughs were genuine, and I really got a kick out of some of the lighter moments. What truly stuck with me was how raw the conversations felt, especially those deep night chats that seemed to pause the rain itself. It’s solid, makes you feel something real, and by the end, you might just see your own little world a bit differently." Jordan Beckett, Amazon Reader
"I felt literal goosebumps rising as I read nonstop for several hours. I could not stop even though it was already 1 in the morning." LibbyDrake, Amazon Reader
"One of the most moving books I have ever read!" Callie Kennedy, Amazon Reader
“'The Day Jesus Moved Next Door' is a book that truly resonated with me. It’s a unique blend of humor, warmth, and deep spiritual insights that makes it a compelling read. Russell’s writing style is engaging and down-to-earth, making the book feel like a conversation with a good friend. The characters are well-drawn and relatable, and the storyline is both entertaining and thought-provoking." M. Gabriella, Amazon Reader
"The wonderful result is a book that will have you in worship and in tears. The impossibility of completely showing Jesus gives way to the reality of Truth. A wonderful book, and a fun read."David Bergsland, Radiqx Press
"The novel has many very touching moments, funny moments, and moments that will 'make you think'. ... If you're wondering how well written the book was, I was able to obtain this book for "free" through Kindle Unlimited, but I actually went back after reading it and purchased the book, because I wanted to encourage this author (and authors like him) to continue writing these great books." Amazon Reader
"What an interesting concept. The author didn't disappoint. This book is thought-provoking with deep spiritual lessons. Easy to read and leaves you light and inspired." Carol1, Amazon Reader
More praise for "The Day Jesus Moved Next Door":
"Well-written, sensitive, easy Gospel for moronic sinners like me. I will read it again and recommend it to all my peeps." David, Amazon Reader
"Reading this book was like stumbling upon a hidden path in my daily routine. It wasn't just a story; it was an experience, a spiritual journey that felt close to heart. The blend of everyday drama with a profound spiritual backdrop made the characters' quests for personal peace and understanding resonate deeply with me. This was one of those treasures, a gentle yet powerful reminder of the bigger picture and the small joys of life." OJA Sevn, Amazon Reader

- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2024This is truly a book worth reading. What would happen if Jesus moved onto your street? Many people would think it impossible and that this man who says he is Jesus of Nazareth must be a fake. The people who live on the street where Jesus moves into an old farmhouse are a total mix match. You will meet Frank, a man about to lose his job of 30 yrs; Toby and Mitch, brothers whose parents and sister were killed in an auto accident; Delante, a drug dealer and his girlfriend, Alyssia and her son Michael; Tahmid and Tahira, a Muslim couple with 2 sons; Cahva, a lonely woman who lives alone and doesn't speak to her neighbors. All of these and many more come to realize that their new neighbor is truly Jesus of The Bible. The chapters are divided into each neighbor's interaction with Jesus. The story is well written and goes into depth for each of the character's lives. The author does a great job of character building. The story makes you think how amazing it would be if Jesus really did move in next door. Would you believe?
- Reviewed in the United States on September 4, 2024This novel tells the captivating story of a seemingly insignificant city that becomes ground zero for an intense spiritual war when Jesus moves into 30 Summit Avenue. As the lives of the residents intertwine, Jesus ignites hope, challenges comfort zones, and opens doors to profound redemption and self-discovery. The journey is transformative, leading residents down unexpected paths. One of the most poignant moments is Frank's encounter with Jesus during a restless night. As thunder rumbles and rain falls, Frank, in his yellow bathrobe and slippers, steps outside to find Jesus on his porch swing. Filled with anxiety and curiosity, Frank joins Jesus, offering Him a bottle of chilled water. What follows is a tender exchange where Jesus reassures Frank, sharing profound insights about His omniscience and the nature of time before pulling Frank close and singing softly to him, lulling him to sleep amidst the storm. This moment beautifully illustrates the novel's blend of intimate spirituality and everyday struggles, portraying God as alive, personal, and powerfully present in our lives. The story unfolds over nine days, beginning with a neighborhood dedication in the prologue, where Jesus arrives at an old, dilapidated farmhouse built by Rees Barclay 140 years ago. Despite its weathered exterior, the farmhouse is chosen by Jesus for His divine purposes. Each day reveals more of the spiritual battle and the transformations occurring in the hearts of the residents, particularly Paul Matthew Barclay and Frank Bruno. The novel concludes with an epilogue hinting at more divine visitors, leaving readers with a sense of anticipation and wonder. This book has deeply touched my heart and mind, potentially igniting or reviving faith in anyone who reads it. It offers a rare and intimate look at the intersection of the mundane and the divine, portraying God as not distant or abstract but alive, personal, and deeply involved in the lives of ordinary people. The story culminates in a powerful and transformative spiritual journey for all involved, making this novel an inspiring read that resonates long after the final page is turned.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Profound and Unexpectedly Comforting Read
I picked up The Day Jesus Moved Next Door out of curiosity, and it turned into one of the most thought-provoking books I’ve read in a long time. The concept alone is striking—Jesus moving into an old farmhouse in small-town Iowa—but what truly makes this book special is how deeply human and relatable it is.
What I appreciated most was how the book didn't try to force a lesson—it simply invited me to see things from a different perspective. It’s a rare novel that can be both entertaining and spiritually moving, but The Day Jesus Moved Next Door pulls it off beautifully. I’ll be thinking about this one for a long time. Highly recommend!
