Just Another Servant Kindle Edition
Decades of pain and duty have kept Carson silent, suppressing his feelings even when the love of his life got married and had his first child.
Now, both have accepted their fate, and their lives focus solely on work. However, the dangers that come with being a man capable of committing the most terrible acts will make Regine suffer consequences he never anticipated. A brutal attack on his mansion, a cold slap in the face of reality, will make the master begin to see his butler with different eyes.
Will they be able to maintain the established boundaries now that things have changed?
After all, Carson has always been just another servant.
Just Another Servant, the first novel by Daniela Campos, explores a deep gay love story with explicit content that is not recommended for young readers. The plot delves into scenes of graphic violence, abuse, and mental health issues, so it is suggested to review the content warnings page before starting the reading.

About the author

I'm Daniela Campos (not the Texas one), a daydreamer with a penchant for crafting worlds filled with longing glances and thrilling mysteries. When I'm not lost in the pages of a good M/M romance or trying to unravel a complex plot, you can probably find me curled up with my two feline overlords, Yuri and Regine.
I'm a hopeless romantic with a weird obsession for the Backrooms and aliens. Role-playing is my secret weapon for creating unforgettable characters, and as a freelance translator, I get to play with words all day long.
I'm currently juggling two degrees (East Asian Studies and Psychology — don’t ask me why) and trying to figure out life while living the good life in Spain. Fun fact: as a kid, I used to drive past a publishing house and dream of seeing my name on a book cover. Well, guess what? That dream is slowly becoming a reality!
I love chatting with readers, so feel free to hit me up. And if you ever make a meme about my books, I might just faint from excitement.

- Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2024In a way I sorta like this book as it is intricate and a different feel. While you have the whole master and servant thing mixed with mafia.
My only issue with the book is that there is a reason why writing these kind of books is taboo and you never see it on tv anymore. You can’t have a white MC as the master then have a black MC as a slave in a world that is kind of modernized. It just sends the wrong signs that black people are slaves and white people are at the top. Then it goes off to being this whole white savior thing that all minorities and POC seriously hate. Then the question comes in when race is played like this. Is this really what we deserve?
I honestly thought Carson deserved better than Regine. Regine literally got to live his whole life with the wife and kids but knowing Carson would always have to be there.

This book held my interest as I felt right from the start neither Regine nor Carson had a choice of the life they would live. Both were prisoners for different reasons and I found it interesting how both could live daily lives that were not what either wanted. As the story continued I questioned how Carson could remain devoted to Regine. I also enjoyed how Carson manipulated Regine. This was a totally different direction of friends to lovers story. I really enjoyed the way the author provided the flashbacks that gave the unusual background of these characters.
The one issue I found in the author’s note was mentioned a story about Sam and Mario but I can’t find where that is. I’d really enjoy reading that story.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2025A M/M romance that starts as childhood friends and evolves later in life. It was a little difficult to see who was talking at certain points but overall a good book. I wish the beginning was a little more detailed or had dual povs.

**This story is written in third person omniscient for those who need this information**
Overall the story was interesting as it shows the differences in Regine's and Carson's relationship from when they were young and as adults. The story flashes back and forth from past and present throughout the whole book and I will say the final flashback was a bit satisfying without revealing any spoilers.
Regine and Carson were close as they grew up and started developing feeling for each other, but after Carson's was sent away for a time, Regine became closed off and Carson had to bury his budding feelings and worked to become the most important servant/butler Regine had at his disposal.
After and deadly attack at Regine's mansion during a banquet, Regine's walls started to crack allowing Carson to step up and give him the support he needed to keep his family and the other workers safe.
But things are not easy as Regine and Carson rediscover their attraction to each other and outside forces are hellbent on taking everything away from Regine.
Read and find out how these two go from best friends to boss and employee to lovers~
****Also apparently Mario already has his own story that was written before this so go check it out****

I don’t know that I have ever read a story like this. There are quite a bit of elements to this story that makes it super interesting and deep.
They go from super close childhood friends to attracted to each other, then being closed off because Carson goes away for a while. They have to re-learn to let one another in but that didn’t come easy.
I am a sucker for enemies to lovers and while this isn’t that type of trope, the vibes man! The vibes!
Definitely read your triggers and make sure your ok with it before you read, unless you have none— then jump on In, it’s a good time.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 1, 2024What a read. Following Regine and Carson over a 20 year friendship was a rollercoaster of emotions. From an early age they were attached at the hip, starting out as childhood friends, then Master and Butler.
Carson hid his longing for Regine, showing his love by being at his beck and call anticipating his every move. Regine had always relied on Carson, but the more danger came knocking at the mansion's door, the more he looked at Carson differently.
From page 1 I was drawn into a book involving violence, corruption, control and weaved through it a beautiful intense love story. Written in 3rd person POV, there was never an issue following the story, identifying straightaway which character was being referenced and it was good to see reactions and feelings from even the secondary character like Rosa and Mario.
Throughout the story there were flashbacks of Regine and Carson at different ages, showcasing how close they were. With a story intense there are some heart breaking scenes and whilst the trigger warnings are there, there is an extra reminder midway into the story. This scenes explain a lot of what Regine had to go through and why he was the man he was and why Carson loved him fiercely. The only little niggle I had, was I wanted to know more of Samir and I would love to read his story as he was another man of mystery.
If you want an intense action filled story then grab this book and what a great debut
