Love Me Dead is the third installment in Lisa Renee Jones’s Lilah Love series, and I can’t believe it took me so long to read this book. I was unaware of how many books LRJ had written and released since I read the first two. Now, I’ve made it my mission to catch up on the entire series.

What I love most about this series is the main female character, Lilah Love. She is fierce, straightforward, and doesn’t tolerate anyone’s nonsense, not even from her ex-lover, Kane Menedez, who is determined to show her that he isn’t going anywhere. As an FBI profiler, she takes her job seriously and refuses to accept incompetence from others. She’ll put them in their place, even if it’s her boss or someone else, and she doesn’t care if they get ticked off about it.

In Love Me Dead, Lilah is tasked with solving a mystery involving a serial killer known as ‘The Umbrella Man,’ who is targeting women. This killer enjoys playing mind games with Lilah, but she is not one for games. Determined to catch the perpetrator, she is willing to put her own life at risk in the pursuit of finding the killer.

Lilah is not only facing a serial killer but is also up against ‘The Society’ as she seeks revenge for what they did to her. She has the support of Kane, who is assisting her in the quest to take them down. Their relationship is complicated, as both Kane and Lilah continue to struggle with their feelings, particularly Lilah. While Kane is fully committed to being with her, Lilah is conflicted due to her work with the FBI and her concerns about Kane being part of the cartel, even though he claims he isn’t. He does have his ways, though, of getting things done. I’m eager for these two characters to finally be together because it’s clear they are meant to be. They just need to work through some obstacles first.

Love Me Dead was another suspenseful read by Lisa Renee Jones that kept me on the edge of my seat, especially with that cliffhanger at the end. Now, I need to find time between other books to read the next installment in the series because I’m eager to find out what happens next.

If you haven’t read this series by Lisa Renee Jones, you are missing out, especially if you enjoy Romantic Suspense and Police Procedurals with a strong female lead character.

Standalone or Part of Series: It’s part of the Lilah Love series, and I recommend reading these books in order. The first book in the series is Murder Notes.

Lilah is still trying to figure out who the killer is and what it has to do with her and why? She knows that it has something to do with Kane and she will need his help but how?
As this story progresses, Lilah is still learning whom she can trust and that list is very short. As she tries to figure out whom all is involved, it is becoming clear that the only person she can depend on is Kane.
As I read more of this series, I am drawn to Lilah and Kane and their relationship. They belong together because they understand each other.
If you love a good mystery and don't mind the "F" bomb, then this series is for you. I hope you are loving it as I am. I'm on to book 4 now.

This story will keep you on the edge of your seat! Kane and Lilah are building a life together and figuring out how to make it work with her having a badge and him dealing with what his family name means. There's no in between for them. It's all or nothing. He would kill for her and wouldn't even ask why. He'd do it with no regret. She's his everything and he’s hers.

Lilah has been brought into this case based on false pretenses. However the common denominator is her.

This story ends on a cliffhanger but it's so worth it! You're going to want to keep reading this series to find out if she gets her man.

Ok so LRJ is my go-to suspense author and this is no different. I would definitely recommend reading the Lilah Love series in order. It has been a year since we first met Lilah and I was happy to see more from this strong female character. This story continues the same pattern where there isn’t much romance and although there are strong Alpha males the star of the show is Lilah Love, a take no prisoners FBI profiler! We have a new killer to contend with in this duet. The Umbrella man enjoys playing with a loved one of the victim making them believe that what they do has to be done to save their lives. In the end he kills them both and leads clues that only Lilah can understand. So, we are still trying to piece together Lilah’s past and how the new murders seem to be connected to her. As the case progresses, she thinks it may be someone in the NYPD, but who?

I love the depth and detail in these stories. I can hardly put in to words how amazing this story is without spoiling all the fabulous twists!

I love the plot the author presents, but I have a really hard time dealing with the cussing. As much as I would like to find out the ending, I am letting it go. Without the cussing I would. Have given the book a 4.5 rating,

This story is even more twisty with so many red herrings it is hard to even begin to fathom out who the killer is. Kane and Lilah are finally back together and I hope they stay that way. Jay is taking a more prominent role and I like his character but the rest of the characters are all under suspicion until the killer is caught.

Which picks up with Lilah relocating to New York and working under orders from her old boss on a task force set up to bring down the society. An organisation responsible for not only her mother's murder, but Lilahs attack and subsequent rape. But before Lilah can, really, do any of that and with the aid of her on again off again lover legit businessman and Mexican cartel member Kane. Lilah sets about investigating the death of a woman whose crime scene has been staged specifically to lure Lilah in, and so begins a complex, suspenseful, and utterly gripping story. That will leave you desperate for more and I can't wait to get my hands on the conclusion of this story.

I really don't know what magic Ms. Jones sprinkled onto these books in the Lilah Love series but I can't stop freaking devouring them non-stop.

I'm on the third book in the series now, which is actually the first one in the Umbrella duet and I'm falling so hard for this crime fiction that is a tantalising mix of thrill, suspense and addictive chemistry between Kane and Lilah that I seriously can't have enough of them.

Lilah Love has a new unaliver challenging her now which she figures out because she's a genius but unfortunately after two crimes have already been committed.

Things get complicated when Lilah begins to suspect everyone around her, except Kane of course because he will always be her protector.

The Style is different this time, not only is the unaliver seeming to be a poison preference person but he's also responsible for deleting the animals and women too and Lilah might not like people much but she can't stand such atrocious behaviour towards innocent people and especially towards animals.

But as always the culprit seems to be playing mind games with Lilah with her ex mentor, Roger unknowingly getting called to this case.

Ooohhh... This one was sooooo unputdownable once again as we follow Lilah into yet another complicated case that's tangled and also Lilah's family dynamics and the society's involvement.

Kane and Lilah are fast becoming my favourite couple and with each book, witnessing their closeness and their understanding and their emotional intimacy has made me a fan of them together. Ahhh... The Cold and ruthless man, Kane Mendez who's only soft to Lilah and the strong willed Lilah Love who doesn't give an F about anyone except Kane. 💟

Then there's that cliffy.... We were so freaking close to finding out and honestly those chapters, I was turning the pages so crazily fast and then.... UGHHHH😭

I can't wait to dive into the next book fast enough. Absolutely loved loved this one.♥️
