- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2017A standalone read with a HEA. This story has an older H-60 and h ? Her age was never stated that I remember but she had 2 grown children, out on their own, so she would probably be in her 50s or older. It takes place in Scotland, England and Idaho. The two of them are professionals that met at a conference years ago. There was an instant attraction but he was happily married and she did not interfere with that kind of relationship. Years later they meet again on a plane to Scotland. He is now a widow and she is still very attracted to him. He is the dedicated businessman and puts that first. She is very happy with her life in her own cottage, happy grown children, friends, etc. but she is lonely.
He pursues her but she is afraid it would never work. He owns a ranch in Idaho and she lives in England. Thinking they are too old to start over and living worlds apart.. He is wealthy and she is desperate for the next bit of money to fix her roof. She doesn't feel she fits into his world. He wants her and he does everything he can to show her he is very serious about spending the rest of his life with her by his side.
There are several events that throw a monkey wrench into their worlds. He has a very spoiled younger daughter that does everything she can to send the British woman back across the pond. She is not so sure that she wants to upset her calm life, become the wicked step-mother to a young woman that seems unreachable. But, to give up her second chance at love may be too much of a sacrifice. This story is really, really good. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I definitely recommend it. The sex scale is ZERO so any age group can read and enjoy without being offended. I think the Christian readers will be happy with this one as well.
I was not paid for this review. I am not an author nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 7/12/17.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2017There are few things I like more for light reading than a sweet romance. If it happens to be set in England with loads of cozy domestic details (think Rosamund Pilcher), so much the better. So when I read the opening chapter of this book, with its description of a toasty kitchen in a charming English cottage on a rainy morning, I settled in for a satisfying read.
The story lived up to its promise, reminding those of us past the first blush of youth that midlife, too, can also be filled with romance, fresh starts, and reawakened dreams. When Maggie runs into former beau Greg on a flight, attraction crackles. But soon they find themselves working on opposite sides of an important issue, and the road to romance is suddenly filled with potholes.
I found myself liking both Maggie and Greg: two smart, accomplished, and imperfect people daring to dream of happily-ever-after amid the assorted complications that come with full lives lived on two continents, grown children, ex-spouses, and career responsibilities.
(Imagine my delight and surprise when a portion of the story later moves from England to Idaho, practically in my backyard! Had I known, I would have invited Greg and Maggie over for a barbecue. lol)
Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 4, 2021I would have loved this book except for the fact that the heroine was attracted to the H when he was married. She let him know to the point that she knew he was attracted to her, too. To me, that makes any romance that followed a little bit tawdry. The rest of the book was good. I like the author's style. I just wasn't comfortable with the fact that their romance was based on when they'd first met and the fact he was married to someone else when they let each other know of their mutual attraction. A little old-fashioned? I think of it more as being an ethical person and not doing harm to another's relationship.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 5, 2017I just finished Love, Second Time Around. First off, I enjoyed the premise and found the story interesting and refreshing as they worked through authentic family issues. Also, the writer did a great job of portraying the main character as she balanced falling in love while also having wholeness of self.
I found the scenery particularly enjoyable and loved the comparison of the two worlds. Those who enjoy nature/horses will certainly find this a satisfying sweet romance read. I want to hang out in Maggie's cottage after reading the beautiful descriptions!

- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2017Maggie is a dear soul. She's strong, intelligent, loyal, and loving. Also lonely. She's best friends with her daughter and when she meets an old love, Maggie's daughter gives great advice. Reminiscent of the movie The Holiday with Jude Law and Cameron Diaz, "Love, Second Time Around" is a story about finding love, working through the challenges, and having the courage and heart to take chances.
I'm ready for the next one in the series!
- Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2017This is a beautiful story of second chance romance by a new author. It is the story of Maggie and Greg, who after many years find each other again. This story takes place in England and Idaho. The story moves between an English cottage and an Idaho ranch. It was an excellent tale, and the start to what I believe will be a great series.
If you like a sweet and poignant romantic tale pick this up. I cannot wait for the next book. This is definitely an author to watch.

5.0 out of 5 stars A lovely story
I so enjoyed this love story. Maggie had struggled for years but made a life for herself and then an old flame appears not just from a different country but different backgrounds . The story is set in a delightful English village where Maggie calls home and Idaho were the old flame resides giving the story great contrast and conflict. I just ordered the second book.
