I kissed her and she ran.

    Tangled Little Truths, the seventh book in the Lake State University series delivered a tantalizing romance, making it a wonderful addition to the series. The first book in the series introduces a group of college friends who lead complex lives, desires to discover love and attain their happily ever after. Each book features a different couple while teasing the reader with the next couple’s story. Tangled Little Truths gives us Colton and Scarlett’s story.

    Colton, aka Colt, the lead singer for the band Fade into Nothing and final year university student is enjoying college and looking forward to the next chapter of his life. The one thing missing is having the girl of his dreams in his arms. The girl whom he had the fortune of meeting in His freshman year. The one with whom he shared a toe curling and mind blowing kiss. However, circumstances with stubbornness and fear being the main culprits kept them apart.

    Fast forward to their final year. The memory of the kiss remains along with their feelings which is stronger than ever. When the presidents of both their honor societies refused to work together on an upcoming charity gala, it placed Colt and Scarlett in the position to take over the planning which afforded them the opportunity to explore their feelings for each other.

    I had a wonderful time with this beautiful story, which kept me flipping the pages into the wee hours. Colt and Scarlett are my favourite couple of the series. They were wonderful as individuals. Their personalities were perfectly matched which contributed to their being perfect for each other. Their relationship blossomed without the unnecessary drama and angst. The major obstacles to their relationship lay in Scarlett’s parents’ disapproval and the need to control her life and her fear of losing her heart. However, Scarlett’s strength and independent nature and Colt’s determination, coupled with their love for each other, proved stronger than these obstacles.

    Although the romance was free of major drama, a few of the secondary characters brought their share to the story. This provided a peek at what one can expect in the upcoming books. It also produced some surprises along the way. I am eager to learn how all the drama will unfold.

    I enjoyed the Tangled Little Truths but the ending left me speechless and not in a good way. The ending occurred so abruptly that it took me a while to recognize that the story came to an end.

    I found Tangled Little Truths to be a delightful story about friendship, love and reaching for your dreams. Fans of romance in a college setting will get a kick out of this series.

    This is an honest book for an arc received.

    Colton (Colt) Goodman, lead singer of Fade Into Nothing, is finishing up his final year of college. When forced to work on a gala with the Zetas, he never expects to walk in the coffee house and see Scarlet. The one girl he fell for the very first time he saw and kissed her. Determined to finally take his shot, will they be able to stand strong together?

    “You just have to open your eyes, and your heart, to the possibility.”

    Scarlet Newton never expects to have to work with Colt, the guy who kissed her freshman year and then never spoke about it again. She’s had a crush on him ever since. But sometimes fate shines down on you. Although they come from different worlds, will there love be enough to overcome it?

    “For starters, I respect you. I’d like to take you on a real date, get to know you, and make you fall madly in love with me before I ruin you for all other men.”

    5 fantastic stars! These 2 have instant chemistry and I’m totally here for it. The pull towards each other is undeniable. I never thought any of the remaining guys could overshadow everything that is Brady, but I think I have a new favorite. Colt is the quiet one, who sees his opportunity to win over the one girl who captured his heart. He is everything that Scarlet needs. Scarlet, man I love her determination to do what makes her happy. This book will have you swooning from the very first pages. Rachael Brownell I can’t wait for the last few guys!!!

    I love the Lake State University series! The author has created characters that I fell instantly in love with. This group of friends are loyal to a fault. They keep their promises and secrets close. They look out for each other and protect one another. Not necessary to start from the beginning but I encourage you to. It is told in dual points of view, so you know what our main characters are thinking and feeling.

    Tangled Little Truths brings us Colt and Scarlett’s story. These two have shared friends for three years but it is the first time they met that neither has forgotten. They shared a kiss and Colt has never been the same. They are thrown together to prepare for a gala, and they have no choice but to address the “elephant in the room.”

    I enjoyed how Colt’s feelings are front and center and once these two decide to take the leap and see what they could be, its non-stop, full force, out of this world chemistry. The writing is flawless, and the characters are strong. It is not too late to start this series to get lost in the world of Lake State University.

    One kiss - that is all it took for Colt to fall in love with the girl of his dreams - but that was three years ago and he has yet to make his move and make her his. So when he is talked into a meeting to discuss the Valentine's Day Gala and Scarlett is the person he meets, there is no better way to start the meeting than by kissing her breathless. Once Colt has her in his arms the rest is history. But can the two keep the fires burning when the rest of their friends are pulling them in different directions. And what happens when her family does not approve? And also, can they survive keeping their friends secrets too? Loads of moving parts but one thing that holds true is their love for each other and the connection they will not deny. I honestly think this was the best of the series thus far. Loved Colton and Scarlett!!
