Steamy and Sweet NA Romance
Finished this in 4 hours! Becca Steele’s new mm book Blindsided swept me away! I was hooked, I didn’t do anything for four hours except read and fall in love with Noah and Liam. Enemies to Lovers bi-awakening with hot steamy times. Their chemistry on page was so hot, but most of all it had a lot of heart too, tender affection that just made me swoon and smile so much. That ending was EVERYTHING!😍 Looking forward to more LSU couples, plus a glimpse of my favorite boys from the previous books was just lovely. Wonderful writing as always from authorbeccasteele!💕

    I love these 2 narrators and was so happy to see them on this author’s M/M series. They do such a great job bringing these characters to life and really emoting and bringing us wonderful performances. I can’t give them less than 5 stars! From the growing tension between these two, that came to some delicious climaxes 😉, to the internal turmoil Liam had with grappling with his sexuality, to the amazing friendships and banter that made for fabulous side characters and elevated the world of LSU for us readers ❤️

    The author blew this one out of the park again, I couldnt get enough of these guys and their friends and family. I loved Noah’s authenticity and that he was happy to egg Liam on when he was being surly hahaha. I loved how he thought about his family over himself, the beginning part about his loan was tough to swallow but it happens to people so I appreciated the realism. I think when Liam realized what he done, that guilt and sadness made it more real. I loved how he handled it, finally letting his ice melt a little bit haha. Liam was similar but in some instances a complete opposite. I felt for him, wanted to give him hugs when he was trying to figure out his feelings and realizing he wasnt completely straight anymore. His emotions were so palpable. He was an a hole though a lot of the time and I was happy to see Noah knock some sense into him a bit haha. I thought it was funny how everyone is like...yeah we know you guys have a thing for each other haha.

    I also enjoyed the soccer aspect to this read. I enjoyed Savage Rivals and Crossed the Line (this author’s other M/M Sport Romance) and this just added on to those stories. I liked the little scenes for practice, figuring out who is good on the team, etc. Noah overcoming his bullying from the soccer athletes from his school was great to see him give it a chance after his trauma. I loved seeing the growth in this story so much! ALSO can I just say I am so happy with all the cameos from all of the other soccer storylines hahaha (Alston and LSU I think). I squealed with Levi, Preston, Kian, etc. It was so good to see how they were doing, seeing them happy with their loved ones. All of them living with or near each other was fabulous. I felt like I never left this word, amazing job by this author. I know avid readers like me super appreciate that attention to detail 🥰.

    I couldnt give this less than 5 stars overall. I ate this one up and already am almost done the next audiobook in the series haha. I was so happy to see that JJ is getting a story and that its coming out this year too! I am addicted to this stories. I hope this author continues to give us these awesome romances. M/M is one of my guilty pleasures and this author has become one of my top 5 M/M authors of all-time. Highly recommend anything from her, especially this LSU series!!

    Noah and Liam get off to a bad start when Noah shows up for is first day at university and hits Liam’s car. When it turns out Noah is Liam’s new housemate, neither is particularly happy. Noah is gay and recognizes that he is unfortunately attracted to his unwelcoming, and seemingly straight, new housemate. Liam finds himself reacting in irrational ways to Noah—ways he finds confusing.
    It doesn’t really take too long for the initial conflict between Noah and Liam to be resolved, but what is left is a back and forth of attraction and repulsion. Liam has always thought of himself as straight, so he struggles to understand his reactions to Noah. And as his attraction grows to the point where he can’t stay away from him, he gives in and then pulls back, keeping Noah on an emotional yo-yo.

    This dynamic creates a believable conflict between the two because while their feelings are growing along with their attraction, Noah can’t just let himself be treated this way—and of course he can’t. Even as he understands that Liam is struggling with his identity, Noah needs to protect himself.

    I like that Liam suggests that they try to get to know each other outside the bedroom. But not enough of that was shown for my taste. Still, I liked the characters, and felt sympathy for both of them and the position they were in. It’s cool in books where the bi-awakening character rolls with the hitherto unknown preference, but it’s also good to see representations of people for whom it really does turn their whole idea of themselves upside down.

    Overall, this was a really enjoyable book. If you like steamy, mm, new adult romance, I’m sure you’ll like this one!

    Blindsided by Becca Steele (LSU Series #1) left me with mixed feelings. I love stories where a character is exploring their sexuality and coming to terms with that part of themselves, but this book really hurt me for Noah’s sake.

    Liam struggles with his attraction to the same sex, which is completely valid—self-discovery takes time—but the way he handled it was frustrating. He was constantly hot and cold with Noah, wanting a friends-with-benefits situation to "figure things out," while Noah had genuine feelings for him. Noah didn’t deserve to be led on and repeatedly cut off. And when he finally tried to set boundaries, making it clear he didn’t want to be hidden, Liam would pull him back in with stolen kisses and a secret romance. It was heartbreaking to watch, and it really bothered me.

    While the book is well-written, I’m not sure if I’ll continue the series. That said, just because it wasn’t for me doesn’t mean it won’t be for someone else—so if you enjoy angsty, back-and-forth romance, this might be worth picking up.

    全体的にすごく気に入りました。まず、よくあるといえばあるのですが、エナミーからラバーへ、、のタイプの物語でオープンリーゲイで前の学校（大学？高校の最終学年、イギリスの学校のシステムよくわからない）かなり仲間外れはいじめ、利用されて傷ついて心機一転でこのロンドンの架空の大学LSUの新入生（一年生）としてやってきたノアと、同じハウス（寮？イギリスのシステムよくわからない）のサッカープレイヤーでストレートのリヤム。出会いは最悪で、最初の２０％くらいはかなりひりひり、この二人の喧嘩やリヤムのノアに対する意地悪がかなりきつく、なかなかラブの方向にはいかないのが、現実的ですごくよかった。
    中半がちょっとたるみ何度も同じ感情ストーリーラインの繰り返しがあったけれど、これは現実的といえばそうかも。アメリカ大学キャンパス物は色々読んだけれどイギリス物は珍しいのですごく楽しく読めた。
    エチの量はかなり、多め。
    リヤムのバイとして生きていくのか、決めるのかカミングアウトするのかの葛藤が切なくすごくよかった。このあたりもすぐ決められないのが、かなり現実的。
    彼らが住むハウスにゲイのアメリカ留学生がいたり、隣のハウスにもゲイの学生がいたりで、かなりLGBTQは進んでる感じ。
    というわけで、イギリスのキャンパス、ハウスなど、ロンドンの観光地も出てきたりで、ロマンス以外も楽しめた。

    Blindsided is utter perfection. Do you have an author who you just instantly know you're going to devour their books. Becca Steele is one of my ultimate fav authors, the way she captures the love is effortless and Blindsided stole my heart.

    What is not to love in the first book at LSU, M/M, enemies to lovers and sports trope. Add in forced proximity and BAM i am devouring in a matter od hours!

    Noah and Liam's relationship is set off instantly on the wrong foot and cue dramatics. Noah and Liam's chemistry is tense and electrifying from their first encounter. Noah is confident in being gay and is not ashamed and Liam thought he is straight. Their interactions, jealousy and sexual chemistry intensitifies throughout and OMG these two literally STEAL my damn heart. And did i mention the steam 😍😍

    I think Becca captures Liam being Bi and discovering this perfectly and honestly the way this book flows will leave you drooling and swooning for more. I love how Blindsided sets up the next characters book and i am super excited and running to start book 2 in LSU now!

    I am absolutely obsessed with this series! Yes I just finished book one but I read Savage Rivals first (Levi and Asher) and I was completely hooked from there!
