Collided: An MM romance (LSU) Kindle Edition

4.2 out of 5 stars 1,545 ratings

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Becca Steele comes a new standalone M/M romance.

When my mother told me she was getting married, I had no idea just how much my life would change.
Her new husband does his best to make me feel welcome, but his son is a different story. Huxley Granger is rude and aggressive, and from the moment we collide, he makes it clear that he loathes me.

Then, something happens. An event that alters everything between us.
I find myself looking at him in a different way.
A way I shouldn’t be looking at the person who has been so hostile to me from the beginning. A way I shouldn’t be looking at the one person I’m not allowed to have.

Even though I tell myself to forget him, I can’t get him out of my head.
And I could be wrong, but I think he might have the same problem.
I know I should stay away.
I
should.
But I won’t.

Collided is an M/M new adult romance with enemies to lovers themes. It is a prequel to the LSU college romance series. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone.
Part of Collided was first available in the Anti-Valentine anthology. This edition has been extensively expanded.

Cole and Huxley had me in my feels!
🎶 RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️   🎶 SPICE: 🔥🔥🔥      I absolutely adored this! 10/5! LOVED! 💜     Sometimes you read a book and it lives in your head long after you read the last word. That's this book! It's emotional, riveting, and Cole and Huxley are a couple that will burn the world for.💜      I'm not usually a fan of the step-brother trope, but I love Becca's writing so I decided to reserve judgement, and let me tell you, it absolutely worked! Cole and Huxley are about to start college when their parents get married, and they hate each other practically on site! But then Huxley has an emergency, and it's Cole who shows up, and things begin to change., especially when they acknowledge the sparks between them!      I was drawn to Cole from the begining. He knows who he is and what he wants, and I just love how he's the person that just shows up when needed. Huxley is an aspiring musician who was written off as a trouble maker, and never really made anyone's priority. Black Cat energy MMCs are a weakness of mine, so of course I have a soft spot for Hux. Luckily so does Cole. 💜      I love that this is a true enemies to lovers, not just mikd dislike. Because the moment when they give up being enemies... it's a punch in the feels.🥹 I loved the tension between these two, especially the magnetic attraction that kept pulling them together, and just the way their chemistry amplified all the soft quite moments.       Huxley as a musician, is deeply rooted in music, and it's used throughout the book in the best and most meaningful ways. The playlist that goes with this book really gives the vibes for the whole love story, and just made something already fantastic, even more impactful.       So I guess what I'm saying, is read this. Read this now. ❤️❤️If you like MM College romance, if you like enemies to lovers and stepbrothers, and especially if you love Brit pop/rock, then this book is perfect for you!       🌟HIGHLY RECOMMEND 🌟      Thank you to wordsmithpublicity and Becca Steele for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

    🌟 BOOK REVIEW 🌟
    Collided by Becca Steele
🎶 Never Enough - The Hunna

Back at LSU to get a closer look at how a couple we already met got their start. Cole and Huxley are unexpected, and quite literally enemies from the start. Stepbrothers thrown together after their parents take the next step in their “affair” relationship (per Huxley) hence the animosity.

There was tension from the start, but you could also see how good they could be together. Despite how shitty Huxley was to Cole, Cole always believed in him. Pushed him to be better and when Huxley needed him the most, Cole was there.

Now, when these two are stuck together while their parents are on their honeymoon, after they no longer hate each other, those sparks fly. Hell, they flew from the beginning, but now they are acted on. And they cannot stop, despite trying many many times. In fear of ruining their parents relationship, they split (so yea there is a mutual third act split), and it was hard on both. Though I loved when they came out to their parents and how they knew already, and accepted. It was perfect and everything they needed to blossom.

I definitely recommend Cole and Huxley! They are perfect for one another and I enjoyed every minute. This book is the third book in the series, yet it run consecutively with the first two which allows them to read easily as a stand-alone.

Cole's mother and Huxley's father are getting married. While Cole is happy for his mother, Huxley isn't crazy about the changes in his family dynamic. He directs his ire to his new stepbrother. Not backing down, Cole refuses to let Huxley get to him...no matter how hot he may be. Their insults and banter were very entertaining. While their parents are on their honeymoon, Huxley attends university and Cole works two jobs. Still trading insults back and forth, and incident drastically changes their relationship. They're seeing one another differently and not as the enemy stepbrother. While getting along, they admit their attraction to each other and their relationship takes a shift.

I enjoyed this story. The pace of things may have been a bit quick, but it's romance, and I enjoyed every bit of it. Huxley and Cole and different family dynamics before their parents got together, and how they transitioned from stepbrothers to lovers was an emotional and very hot one. How they helped one another with personal issues was so sweet and supportive. I'm glad I was told about this prequel to the LSU series. Their family and friends were very interesting and I hope to see them in this series.

James Joseph and Will Watt were fantastic with their narration. Two of my favorite Brit narrators, and one of my favorite MM duos. Their acting was top notch.

    3.5⭐️
This was a fun read. I’m a fan of the stepbrother trope and Cole and Huxley have the expected hate at first sight, so there is plenty of good tense exchanges early on. I did enjoy their fiery chemistry which was balanced with a side of sweetness. I wish they didn’t fight their connection quite so much as it would have been nice to develop their relationship a bit more. Super cute epilogue.

Swoon! I absolutely loved this take on an enemies to lovers story, with a dose of forbidden relationship tossed in! Huxley and Cole became stepbrothers after their parents married the summer after they finished their A Levels. These two took an immediate dislike to each other as their respective parents kept trying to push the idea of their new family forming. These two found themselves at each others throats at every turn, and the UST climbed with every interaction. The sexual tension between them was so palpable, as a reader you couldn’t help but feel it jumping off the page! After Huxley turned to Cole for help, their relationship began to turn as well. They let down their walls and gave into that sexual tension, and it was smoking hot! While they both professed their feelings, looming over their heads was the how their parents would think of them dating, or how the people around them would feel. I loved the underlying tension of whether they would be caught by their parents. It ramped up the overall tone of their story and I was invested in how it would pan out for them. I loved the connection they developed throughout the story. The look ahead of their HEA was fantastic and I loved how their story unfolded. If you’ve been loving the LSU series, this is a great addition, and if you’re new, this is a great way to kick it off!

From chapter 1 I hated the parents for the way their relationship was introduced to both Cole and Huxley. There was little wonder as to why they hated the situation and each other before they even met. They were set up for failure by their parents yet they forced them to play a happy family.

The severe animosity, especially on Huxley’s side, was entirely understandable and it is mixed with attraction for each other which further confuses things. Because of this unfortunate beginning it takes Huxley and Cole awhile to really see the other. I loved that Cole was not a pushover and really gave back as much as he was getting which led to a funny moment or two despite the fighting. After a moment where Huxley turns to Cole for support, despite not wanting to, things finally start to change. With walls finally down between them, the spark of attraction turns into a fiery inferno and they cannot stay apart from each other.

Scared of what will happen if/when their parents find out they continue to fight being together, but it is a losing battle. Despite the unconventional nature of their relationship and the fear of discovery, ‘Collided’ is a low angst and very steamy read. While part of the LSU universe it can be read as a complete standalone. If you’ve enjoyed the other offerings in this series, you will definitely enjoy this one too.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Huxley and Cole. Meet as step bros and irritate the he'll out of each other until one is down and then they have a moment and then the relationship becomes so intense and needy that they can't live without each other. They have obstacles to tackle but as they say they can do it together. I actually thought I'd read this before but I checked reviews and found I had not.

My heart hurt so much and so good throughout this entire book! I got worried that things were happening too fast when they got physically initially but I clearly had nothing to worry about! There were so many ups and downs and obstacles to work through! Am I now addicted to that song from the Hunna? Yes of course I am!

Becca Steele has done it again, Huxley and Cole are the cutest 🥰.

I love the way that Becca Steele writes. It’s all very fast-paced, and we get to the good stuff quickly!!

I loved all of the pent-up crazy hate at the beginning that is coated in all the sexual tension 🔥.

Cole is such a softy. He wanted tondonall he could to help Huxley and felt really protective of him, and it was perfect.

This book has all the swoony moments with lots of spice and a touch of the forbidden. What more could you want?
