Love You Again: Love You, Maine, Book 2 Audible Audiobook – Unabridged

4.6 out of 5 stars 614 ratings

An unexpected rescue rekindles an old romance between a single dad widower and a woman caught in a small-town scandal that made her flee the one place where she belongs. Can a second chance at first love end in a happily ever after?

Luke Luview has given up on love. Finally ready to let go of his late wife’s clothes, the grieving small-town police officer and single dad thinks he’s hearing things when he opens the charity box door. Who knocks from the inside of a donation bin?

The raccoon he assumes is in there turns out to be way prettier—and very familiar. Rescuing the first girl he ever kissed means life has dealt him a wild card with Kylie Hood, his late wife’s best friend who left town suddenly 15 years ago under a cloud of scandal.

Kylie Hood will never depend on a man again. Dumped by her boyfriend and fired by his parents from her children’s programming job at their ski resort in rural Maine, she hits rock bottom while throwing out her ex’s clothes—along with her phone and car keys.

Being rescued by Luke Luview, of all people, is a gift and a curse. The boy she once loved is now all grown up, everything her ex wasn’t—and absolutely off limits.

Accepting his offer to be his temporary nanny while she job searches in New York City, Kylie falls hard for his sweet daughter, and even harder for Luke. A clause in her employment contract means they can’t fraternize, but fate has other plans, and forbidden fruit is twice as sweet.

As the town she reluctantly left years ago accepts her more and more, and Luke makes it clear he wants ta second chance with her in their close-knit community, Kylie has to decide: an exciting new career in Manhattan on her own, or an instant family and a sense of belonging in her small hometown?

And as Luke wrestles with the pain of being left behind by his wife’s accidental death, he has to balance his responsibilities to his daughter with his own needs. Needs he’s ignored for far too long.

Needs only Kylie can meet.

But not if she leaves.

Can Luke and Kylie rekindle their first love and find a new future together in a place where love conquers all?

If you’re looking for a fun story about first kisses and second chances, featuring a hot single-dad police officer and his accidental nanny, set in a small town in New England, with a golden retriever named Jester, a heroine whose dream in life is to run a fairy camp, and a hero who wants to build a place where everyone belongs—then this is your book.

Grab a cup of coffee or tea, and maybe some edible glitter, and get your happy meter ready as you listen to the second book in the Love You, Maine, series—where love isn’t just a feeling…it’s a way of life.

This is another great book, written beautifully by Julia Kent. I’ve read so many of her books, and I’ve never been disappointed. Her books are always written with heart, and love. The characters are always well developed, and the stories are always entertaining.
Luke is one of the police officers in Luview, Maine, a romantically inclined town, where everything is heart shaped, and the only colors allowed, are red, pink, and white. He has gone through the death of his wife, and is left to raise his daughter, Harriet. He is hard working, and his life centers around his little girl, and work. After 2 years of heartbreak, he decides that it’s time to dispose of his memories of the night, that his wife was killed.
Kylie is a hard working young woman, who has been dumped by her boyfriend of 7 years, thru a text message. She is heart broken, and has finally found the strength to get rid of her exes clothes. She goes to a local dumpster, and inadvertently gets trapped there the same dumpster that Luke goes to dump his clothes. This is how Luke and Kylie meet again.
He hires her as his daughters nanny, and Kylie begins to encourage Harriets fairy fantasies. With her teaching degree, she becomes very close to Harriet, and feelings begin between Luke and Kylie. As teenagers, they had been very close, but her parents marital problems, caused them to end their relationship.
The whole town starts a betting board, as to when Luke and Kylie might seal the deal, of their relationship. Luke’s mom invites Kylie to the family Christmas dinner. Things are going well, until Kylie admits that she has a job offer in New York, at the same time that Luke admits hat he loves her. His reaction to her announcement, causes them to break-up.
Kylie goes to New York, for the interview, but feels it’s not what she really wants. Luke goes to New York to find Kylie, and apologize, and they finally open up about their true feelings, and they admit that they love each other.
Luke and Kylie return to Luview, and begin to help repair the camp grounds, that will be the home of all the Luview family. As Luke and Kylie get closer, they finally reach their HEA.
This book was full of good feeling moments, and family, and small town closeness. I completely recommend this book, or any book written by Julia Kent.

Quirky small towns are one of my favorite settings, and there's none more quirky and charming than Luview, Maine, where romance is in the air and the town theme is all things love. If I hadn’t already fallen in love with this town from the Kellan's story, this second chance romance would have sealed it for me. And if that's not enough, Luke and Kylie's reunion meet cute is the best I’ve ever seen!

Picture this. You’re a member of the town's founding family and a police officer who lost your wife in a senseless accident. You're finally ready to get rid of the last of her belongings and move on with your life. You take a ride outside of town (because nosey neighbors and you don’t want to see your late wife's clothes walking around town). You head to the donation bin, open the bin door, and hear a voice. What the??

Kylie Hood is not having the best Thanksgiving. Her boyfriend broke up with her in a text (yep, we all agree he's a dog!) and she's getting rid of the last of his stuff. She opens the donation bin door, tosses in the bags, and somehow her keys and phone follow. What choice does she have but to go in after them? And did I mention, it's night time? In November. In Maine. Brrr.

There are so many things about this one that I love, and Kent did an extraordinary job crafting this story with all of the elements perfectly placed for optimal emotional impact. There's so much life and color to this town and it's unusual characters, it's as if they reached out from the page and pulled me into the story. Then there's the Luview family, with their good-natured teasing and unwavering support who made me wish I could become an honorary Luview. Add to that two people who belong together finding their HEA, some surprising secrets, and an adorable, precocious little girl, and this one had me hypnotized with every word.

I couldn’t decide if I should speed through it to find out how it ended or slow way down and luxuriate in this amazing story. This romance isn’t just an escape, it's an experience. One that I loved every minute of and wished I could stay in forever. With laugh-out-loud, snort-inducing humor, blush-worthy chemistry, and masterful heartstring manipulation, this one deserves all the stars. It will leave you with a full heart, a happy sigh and a euphoric high, so make sure you don’t miss it!

This was a super cute 2nd chance romance. I liked Kylie a lot I think that she dealt with a lot growing up and to to find what works for her was amazing to read. Luke was an interesting character he very much was a grumpy single dad who is just trying to make it work. The big blow up that happened between them was expected but I liked how it resolved itself. Can't wait for the next one it will be interesting to see where Kent takes the series

It is always so difficult to find new words to describe one of Julia Kent's stories because each book always draws me in so completely. Love You, Maine is, in itself, a major character of this series and I'm living vicariously through all the characters who love the town. If you haven't read Love you Right, or it's prequel, Love you Wrong, I would absolutely recommend it as you will get so much context and history that will enrich this story for you. A second chance romance in the most romantic town ever is what you will find within these pages along with some painful, emotional memories for our main characters. You will also find some of the most hilarious hijinks right from the very beginning. This is something Julia Kent does so very well and she gives it all to us wrapped up in a beautiful scarf (you'll have to read it to understand the significance of said scarf). I spent 1/2 my time reading passages to my husband who happens to enjoy the comedy as well.

I loved the first book in this series and this book does not disappoint. Julia Kent is an artist.
Kylie was moved away at 15 straight after an amazing kiss with her best friend. 10 years later she is back and stuck in a very precarious position.
Luke is said boy, now grown and with a small daughter. He finds Kylie. When and where he would least expect. Can he help her and himself at the same time.
I loved this story, beautiful character tales lovingly woven to create a masterpiece of a love story.
Can you find your soul mate twice. Sprinkle some fairy dusty and anything is possible.
I highly recommend this book, series and author.

What a great story about Luke and Kylie's reunion. After many years apart the chemistry between them was just as strong as in the beginning.
