A TOP 100 Amazon Bestseller

Lady Jo Danvers has declared war on her humdrum life. Armed with a list of ways to be wicked, she will step out of her role as never-been-kissed wallflower and experience passion. With the right gentleman, of course. She just has to find him.

Mr. Elijah Decker, the handsome businessman she cannot stop thinking about, is definitely no gentleman. And he is decidedly all wrong. Unfortunately for Jo, she has unwittingly given him her list.

When Decker discovers Jo’s list mistakenly tucked between the pages of a pamphlet for the Lady’s Suffrage Society, he is intrigued. And after she realizes her error and storms his office demanding he return it, Decker agrees on one condition: that she accept his aid in crossing off each scandalous act.

What begins as a lark quickly sizzles into something deeper and unexpected. But Decker’s dark side may tear them apart before Jo’s sinful quest is complete…

    A reluctant, heartwarming love story!

This is the second book in the Notorious Ladies Of London series. It is the love story of Jo and Decker. Jo is a wallflower who is tired of sitting on the sidelines of life never experiencing passion. So she makes a naughty list of things she wants to accomplish with a gentleman. Decker is a ruthless business man who thinks he doesn’t have a heart and doesn’t believe in love. Decker finds Jo’s list and trouble ensues.

This story was so captivating. Decker is a scoundrel of the first order but you are so drawn to him. His character is complex and has many facets. Jo is sweet and strong, able to hold her own with Decker. It is VERY steamy. It is passionate and romantic.

The characters are written beautifully, they are vibrant and just jump from the page. I loved the storyline. It is my favorite trope, the untitled businessman falls reluctantly for the titled lady. The plot moved at a quick pace, enthralling me at the first page. There is not really an evil mastermind in this story, it is mostly character driven.

I am a big fan of Ms. Scott. This is my favorite book of hers so far. It is so good I am considering going back and reading it again now. Just a FYI, there are characters in this story and the last story in the series, Lady Ruthless that have their HEA in previous books in previous series. The author talks about that at the end of each respective book. If I had known that I would probably read those series first.

I would recommend this book and series to anyone who loves steamy historical romance. A really great read!!!!

Jo and Decker’s story is definitely ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥! I love when an overlooked person gets the chance to shine. Decker was broken and didn’t know it until he found Josie and her unconditional love and support. Great story and outrageously funny supporting characters especially Macfie!

Mr. Elijah Decker is a handsome, wealth businessman, the illegitimate son of the Earl of Graham. Publishing is one of his many interests - that brings Lady Jo Danvers to his office to drop off a pamphlet for the Lady's Suffrage Society. But Jo mistakenly leaves her list of scandalous wishes. Jo is a quiet young lady who usually sits with wallflowers at society events. Feeling left out with her sister and best friend finding true love, Jo writes a list of her desires. Now that list is in Decker's possession, giving him an insight into the passionate side of the prim lady. Decker's heart was broken years before when he was jilted in favor of a title. Now his pleasures are one night only with experienced women - until Jo. Determined to go through her list with her, Jo sneaks out a few nights to Decker's waiting carriage. Until her brother Julian, Earl of Ravenscroft, puts a stop to it. But Decker is drawn to Jo and cannot stand the thought of her marrying another. He offers marriage and is refused by Julian and by Jo, who does not want to be an obligation. Not accepting defeat, Decker forces his suit and they marry. Jo is very attracted to him for she sees the good he does with hospitals and orphanages in secret, but Decker is very private about sharing any of his past. They both learn that the past should be left and not have the power to control the present and future. Jo's sweetness and loving nature start the crumbling of the walls Decker built to protect himself. He has definitely won her heart - can she win his love and devotion? The past catches up with Decker in the form of his estranged but beloved mother and former love. An enchanting story of an innocent girl whose love can hold the heart of the wealthy businessman and show him the greatest gift of life - Love!

I always say I love Scarlett's books. But I would be lying If I said I did not! I don't like spoilers since others will undoubedtly do so. But I will say This- Lady Jo has a list of things that she wants to do (and let's just say it involves the oppisite sex), sadly her precious list falls into the possession of a man that is anything but a gentlemen. Decker amused me to no end! The wit, charm and humor are lovely and the heat is possiively scorching. *sidenote if you are prudish this book is not your cup of tea. However, I think this story is fine whisky! Smooth, intoxicating and a lovely finish. I enjoyed the premise of this story so much, as Jo is so likeable and not simpering. She has depth and character as does Elijah. This book is now one of many in my Scott reread books. And I can not wait for her next coming in August I did recieve an arc in exchange for my unbiase pov. Trust me if I do not like a story I am brutal in telling. But Lady Wallflower, was sweet, witty, charming, sensual and sublime. I also bought book as I collect series favorites. Thanks Scarlett for another wondertul tale!

    🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5.

This was delightful. I’m having so much fun binging this series.
I wasn’t sure I would love Josie in the beginning because she is this wallflower who is sweet and innocent and usually that’s not my type but I was so wrong. She had desires and she wanted to be happy and what better way to go about it than to write all the ways she wants to be wicked. I loved that she wasn’t shy about what she wanted nor was she scared of saying what she wanted. I loved her fiery side and I loved how Decker played a big part in that.
I loved Decker and his wicked seduction. I loved how despite his “black reputation”, he is good and kind and Josie saw him for who he was and wasn’t afraid to tell him that.
I’m almost positive I blushed at some point during this book. The narration was so good. Their sexy times were delicious!
I loved that when things came to a head Josie didn’t just run away, she instead took matters in her own hands and made it so her husband would come to her and with that all the emotions walls came down.
I loved these both so much and although it’s still too soon to say it, I believe this is a favorite in the series. Can’t wait to read the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smouldering, Saccharine Sweetness!
Reviewed in Australia on July 10, 2023
Simple plot with 90% invested in titillating romance. This made for an engaging and repeated romping sessions between the two main characters. Reading books by this author is always a treat. The British are known for their ready witty sarcasm and this book is replete with it. I appreciate this author because her stories always include a liberal sprinkling of funny awkward situations and laugh out loud moments which makes for light, fun, entertainment.

The story begins with the Hero perusing a list, titled Wicked Wishes by a certain lady, who described herself as a wallflower. She wants to experience all manners of intimacy with a man, she wasn't sure Who with, but she was wholeheartedly fed up with nearly all her friends, already engaged or married already. Still, she had no suitors yet, not anyone really interested in her and this was the beginning of her 2nd Season. So this list is about all her inner wanton desires . Unfortunately, she misplaced the list and it ended up with a publisher, folded between sheets of her groups periodical which is ready for printing. The Hero happens to be the Publisher. Also with a sullied reputation of a rakehell, who was born on the wrong side of the blanket. He also has a big chip on his shoulder, disdainful of all Titled Nobility. He is the sole son of an Earl, who after the Earl's death, inherited all his wealth, except the Title and entailed properties. Because he is a bastard. As a businessman, he amassed obscene wealth because of the driving force of self-pity and the need to prove himself as being above the reproachment of the Nobility class.

The story centres much on the H/h antics specially in the fulfilment of that Wicked Wishes List, and not much else.

That the Hero and Heroine were already secretly attracted to each other was convenient. The Heroine wanted to retrieve the list from the Hero. The Hero, saw his chance of being the one to fulfil the heroine's list and adamant that no one else but himself will do. Insufferable prig really. However his possessiveness and insistence on it, is what makes specially the female readership, swoon on their seats. How can you as an author not indulge on a Hero character without the requisite Adonis like body, or sinfully handsome, wealthier than Croesus, with a superlative weapon/appendage as formidable to rival Priapus. Plus dimples. This is where you turn sober and remind yourself this is but a story and there is no chance in the bowels of possibility that you can meet anyone just like this specimen of a man. Because he does not exist. Not for the hapless reader anyway. But, anyone can dream, right?

This is a story of passion, Illicit romantic trysts, comedy, misunderstandings, unrealistic expectations of one's self and of others, uncertainties, an old flame trying to insert in the new couple's chance of happiness, a funeral, a wedding, and lastly a HEA.

I like the personalities of both the H/h. Their smouldering looks towards each other across the room. They have an explosive chemistry together., and in the course of 250 pages or so, resolved their differences with some startling revelations unfolding for both.

I find the last few pages of this story, a bit sickly sweet. I struggled with reading that part. Fortunately, it was towards the ending where their humping happiness was liberally poured out.

All in all, a light read with cupfuls of cream ices, cakes and more, plus dancing in the rain, without an umbrella unlike that unforgettable dance Gene Kelly did in 'Singing in the Rain'. Yes, this duck is old enough to remember but too young to be a grandma.

I recommend this book highly. It may join my list of RAB = Read Again Books, which is growing nicely.
