Lady in the Scarlet Scarf Kindle Edition
The year is 2031. Suddenly, there is no electricity, phones, internet or cars. Pushed to the brink, humanity teeters on edge as it becomes a fight for the last scrap available. Man turns against man. Society descends into chaos.
Guess who switched everything off. It was us. And no, it was not because of a looming AI threat. It was something far more ancient—from two millennia ago—something no one even imagined.
So, why did we do it? And who exactly is the threat? Read this exciting debut novel by La Vista to know the truth!
It all starts with Dr Aacek having vivid dreams of an enigmatic lady in a scarlet scarf trying to communicate with him. To top it all, the lady looks eerily like his wife, Amuna.
Meanwhile, servers in Prime Minister Anvuu’s office start communicating with each other in an indecipherable language. Soon, the concerned individuals realise humanity is in grave danger.
Aacek, Amuna and their friends race to find the connection between the seemingly disparate events and to prevent complete annihilation if possible.
Set across two timelines separated by two millennia, the novel explores how past actions deeply influence our future. Will humanity survive? Who will the saviour be? Lady in the Scarlet Scarf reveals all. Read now to find out.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stunningly imaginative and positively unputdownable!
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseI cannot say enough how much I enjoyed reading Lady in the Scarlet Scarf! I particularly enjoyed Part 2 in the story, where the author's evocation of a historical kingdom with healing traditions, life rituals, and beautiful landscapes makes for a incredibly immersive reading experience. Another highlight of the book, for me, is an epic showdown between two wave forms and a threadlike appendage- it is the sort of imagery that could inspire a beautiful painting.
The narrative does feel a bit rushed towards the final third of the novel, and not all of the characters' motivations are entirely convincing. But, ultimately, where Lady in the Scarlet Scarf really shines is in the big ideas it proposes: from Anvuu's autonomously communicating servers, Surkena's ruminations on the nature of sentience, to the mysterious cosmological origins of the dark forests of Vajrmoor. When you're finished with the book, you will feel forced to look at the world around you and wonder if there's more to it than meets the eye- something only good fantasy/sci-fi novels do.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for fans of philosophical science fiction
Format: KindleVerified PurchaseThe book deals with themes of love, sacrifice and friendship in a fictional alternate version of Earth.
The characters are well-developed, with Aacek and Amuna serving as the emotional core of the story. Their bond, rekindled after years, adds a poignant touch to the overarching narrative of discovery and calamity. Secondary characters, like Prime Minister Anvuu and others involved in the AI subplot, provide a multi-dimensional view of the unfolding events.
Author masterfully balances these storylines, creating a sense of interconnectedness between Aacek's personal journey and the broader, almost cosmic, mysteries of Earth's history. The philosophical underpinning—whether it's the nature of life, AI consciousness, or humanity's place in the universe—elevates the narrative beyond a conventional thriller.
Overall this book will leave you questioning the nature of consciousness, love, and the secrets hidden in plain sight.
Author crafts a narrative that challenges conventional boundaries of genre while delivering a story that resonates emotionally and intellectually.
It is perfect for fans of philosophical science fiction, low fantasy mystery thrillers, and mind-bending tales of AI and time.
