A Landscape of Love (Wicked Sons Book 5) Kindle Edition
Hartley De Beauvoir was born into poverty, enduring his first years in the workhouse, an experience which left indelible marks upon his character. Adopted by Minerva and Inigo De Beauvoir at the age of six, Hart knows he owes them everything. His entire focus revolves around the desire to be worthy of the name they gave him and become a success in his own right. Having already built an empire of his own with De Beauvoir Nurseries and Landscaping, his goal is to become one of the leading landscape designers in the country.
When the Duke of Beresford commissions him to redesign the gardens at Hardacre Hall, Hart knows it is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and he wants no disruptions in attaining his goal.
A lovely distraction…
Lady Fidelia Ponsonby is beautiful, untouchable, and wreathed in sorrow. As Hart watches her walk through the gardens daily, his heart breaks for the lovely young woman who seems to find no pleasure in her surroundings, no joy in the world around her.
Despite knowing better than to get involved with a duke’s daughter, Hart finds himself unwillingly drawn into her world, and the recipient of her confidences.
A second chance…
Played false by a man she thought loved her, Fidelia finds herself drawn to Hart, a plain speaking, gruff man who prefers plants to people. When he rescues her from an accident that almost claims her life, he breaks the spell of melancholy that has held Fidelia in its grasp for so long, and gives her the confidence to live again, and hope for more than she believed possible.
Reaching for the moon…
Hart knows there is no future for the workhouse bastard and the duke’s daughter, but he cannot abandon Fidelia when she has no one else to keep her safe from scandal and despair.
In the end, Hart may have to sacrifice everything to save the woman he loves, but some sacrifices are easier than others.

- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2024The story was not only interesting but poignant. Although the romance was good, the trope of a stolen child and melancholy young woman who mourned him stole the show.
There were a few plot elements that felt off, like the quick emotional transition the heroine makes, but they weren’t ruinous.
However, the ending almost left me feeling like I became emotionally involved with no payoff. It left a VERY bad impression of who is surely to be a heroine of a future book.
I feel like she should have KNOWN something was not right considering that the heroine of this book disappeared from society. So the fact that she conveniently believes the worst comes off rather selfish, cruel and self-serving. She is barely better than the Duke who stole the child from his mother first. In some ways, she is worse because she is a woman herself and didn’t even attempt to contact the mother to confirm her suspicions.
There are now four characters created by this author who I have not been able to forgive, at least not fully or easily. But that doesn’t make the books any less compelling.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2024The Story was Wonderful as were Fidelia & Hartley's Characters.
A ruined daughter of a nastyDuke, who took her baby immediatelyafterit was born, & a adopted boy from the workhouse who doesn't think he can be loved by a titled Lady.
I am looking forward to reading Narcissa & Ashton's story in the next book in this series.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 28, 2024As always, this book of the Emma‘s did not disappoint. I know that Hart is essentially a loner, and the story took place in a location far from what we are
used to. That said, I missed all of the other wonderful characters, the daring daughters and their parents along with the other sons, and I wished they had wandered in and out of the story more than they actually did. the letters kept us in touch with some of them, but certainly not all, and I miss them. But all in all, this was a great read, and I can’t wait for the next one.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 29, 2025I have been reading this series for years and I absolutely adore the fact that the author keeps giving us these stories with interconnected characters. It has been a joy reading the daughters and now continuing on with the sons. Brava Emma, I sincerely hope you never stop. Love, love, love.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 27, 2024It was so hard to put down this book. I was glued to the pages. I love this series. Great read
- Reviewed in the United States on May 14, 2024Gave a 3, but 2.5 would be better. It’s not a page turner.
Does anyone remember Barbara Cartland romances? I devoured them in my early teens. This book reminded me of those books in a number of ways: The melodramatic dialogue with “sighs” uttered repeatedly by the heroine. Then the utterly predictable plot.
Ms Leech was a favorite and then something has changed. I keep reading hoping her inventive plots and more realistic character struggles will reappear. Though the book before this wasn’t too bad. Anyway - if you just need a book that is simple mental this may serve that purpose.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2024I absolutely loved Hartley and Fidelias story. She the ruined daughter of a despicable Duke and he a child born in the work house who was adopted by wonderful parents.
Hartley wants to make a name for himself and be the most renowned architect on Gardens. He is commissioned to design the Duke of Beresfords gardens. He despises the Duke and his heir but will keep his mouth shut because he knows by designing his gardens it will make his name known throughout England.
While working on the gardens he notices the Dukes oldest daughter Lady Fedelia who seems to walk around as if the worlds against her.
One night he rescues her from near death and finds out her secret. As they get to know each other over the coming weeks he realizes he needs to help her.
A wonderful story with surprises and a beautiful ending.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 1, 2024Ms Leech gets right into the hearts of her characters. It is a privilege to read her novels!
This series is possibly her best.

5.0 out of 5 stars happy ending

5.0 out of 5 stars so sweet
In the wicked sons series the male characters are strong, good and fair minded men, grown up in loving families and with emancipated mamas.
Even so Hartley, adopted, if still beloved child, don’t think himself worth the love of Fidelia, a duke’s daughter!
But as the story unfolds, looking for Fidelia lost son you are touched by true love which is acceptance and respect.
As always a book I couldn’t put down, with some hint for the stories to come I can’t wait to read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it!
I really enjoyed this book. Finished it on the day of release of course as I couldn’t put it down. The cameos from Mau add extra fun to the story. And the story inspired me to clean up my greenhouse and get it ready for seed raising again.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another great read
Loved the story, obviously I am quite invested in these stories after having read all the books by these authors and continuing getting a glimpse of the other families involved. The sons may not be as wicked as expected but the story lines are great, keeping me wanting to find out what is going to happen till the end. Will be waiting for the next book in the series
