Lawless: An MM Mafia Romance (Devious Mafia Daddies Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 535 ratings

“Don’t worry. Daddy’s here now.”

Dante Romano and I had history.
At 7, he was the new boy in school I stood up for when the bullies swarmed.
At 13, he was my best friend and partner in crime as we trained to become Capos.
At 17, he was the man I loved more and my biggest secret.
At 21, he was my boy and I his Daddy.
At 23, he gave up his freedom to secure mine.

A chance encounter as a child led me to become one of the most feared men in the Cosa Nostra. I’d protected the heir to the throne, thereby earning myself protection, and later, a position in their ranks under the title of Preacher. I wasn't part of the church, but that didn't stop men from praying and begging for forgiveness from my lawless rein.

Over time that heir I'd saved became my everything - my best friend, my future leader, and the love of my life. When the true depth of our feelings were discovered, Dante accepted his father’s demands and left the city behind to spare my life.

Years of searching for him proved fruitless. He was hidden well and there was little hope I'd ever see him again. It wasn’t until I made a deal with an old friend that I managed to track down my boy. Low and behold, he was in my city, right under my nose. I decided then and there I’d stop at nothing to take back what’s mine.

Lawless is part of the Ruthless Daddies multi-author collab and a complete standalone. Expect to find an anti-hero Daddy not afraid to use violence to get his way, a boy still hiding parts of himself to appease close-minded family ideology, an out-of-the-box kidnapping (I mean reunion), and a guaranteed HEA. Want more deliciously morally gray Daddies and boys? Grab the whole series!

Dante's life changed the moment he met Preacher in the school yard not just for protection but also his heart. As he grew up he knew he was gay and being the son of a mafia Dom that was a no no. But the heart wants what the heart wants, his wanted Preacher. But his father had other plans and making him leave his Daddy would be his father's downfall. There was not a moment that he was separated from his boy that Preacher wasn't searching for him, so when he finally came home in was just like they were never apart. It took some doing but they finally came what they always wanted to be a family. Great Story!!😍😍

This book was exactly what I was looking for. Dark romance with a Daddy and his little. There is much more of the dark romance than the Daddy/little part. Great story and would recommend.

🚨 As always, check your TWs before you read! 🚨

This one was quite an interesting one for me. I’ve not read something that displayed this specific dynamic before, Daddy/Lb. The use of “little” in this book was more extreme than what I’ve typically known of it within the community. It’s a bit more of a niche & definitely not one that I think alot of people (dare I say) understand. But it was represented respectfully and that is whats important. You like what you like & should never feel ashamed for it.

Spice 3/5 Its not spicy, definitely a bit more romantic in my opinion, which is perfectly okay.

Plot 5/5 Once the shock of the relationship dynamic wore off and I knew exactly what I was reading, the plot was beautiful. Especially the ending 🥹

The book had a lot of potential, but the relationship between Dante and Peacher as a daddy and boy ruined it for me. Dante didn't fit his (boy) role at all, and it was because of how the author built his character at the beginning of the story. I have read many books with boys who are badass MF, but this relationship was just cringeworthy. I skipped most of the intimate parts because they felt fake. Despite this, I gave it a three-star rating because the mafia storyline was good, and aside from the relationship between the main characters, the story's world-building was not bad.

Dante is the son of a mobster who discovers Dante's gay and messing around with his best friend Lloyd. Lloyd rescued Dante one day at school and they became friends and then lovers. Dante's father sends him away and Lloyd spends sixteen years looking for Dante. He finally finds him when he gets wind of someone called the Monster in town. Lloyd goes by Preacher now and together they get married and decide to take out Dante's father. I loved how Dante and Preacher never lost their love for each other and fell right back into their Daddy and boy role even more so by exploring new kinks together. Together they are a force to be reckoned with. We get two mini epilogues at the end which makes me happy. I highly recommend this book and this second series of Ruthless Daddies.

A beautiful best friend to lovers Mafia Daddy/boy romance. I mean what more do you need?

    Well I’ll tell you …

With hurt/comfort, outside forces separating them, touch him and die possessiveness, and as always with A.W. Scott, an amazing and rich cast of supporting characters (some from past books, some new) this Mafia romance comes alive.

You’ll be left eager to see where others stories will lead them and wishing Dante & Preacher’s story never ended.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We met Preacher in the book "Yearning for Yuri". Finally we know what happened in the past. And why he became a private investigator. Beause he lost the love of his life. But he gets his HEA with Dante.

3.0 out of 5 stars Better than the first two, but the pacing of the story is weird

It starts off way too fast. The author tells us why Dante and Preacher want their revenge, but doesn't really show us. It doesn't give us enough time to really emphasise with them and get on board with the plan.

The part about Preacher trying to find Dante and figure out why he left is also too fast. It's mentioned that it has been fourteen years, but by the time we're caught up in the story, he finds him way too fast. Getting to Dante and getting him away is too easy. Dante gives up without any fuss, even though supposedly his father would have Preacher killed.

Now, it was supposed to have ended when Romano died and they took over the organisation (which was also done too quickly and easily to be believable). Then the ending kept getting stretched on and on. This was the longest ending I've ever read. I'd say the last 20% of the book should have been two percent.

I do like their relationship and that's what kept me in the book, but otherwise I felt strangely detached.
