    I loved reading a story about Jack finding love. He is such a wonderful father and grandfather. I hated what he went through with his ex wife. Unfortunately her name was Becky, which is my name. I always wanted my name in a book, but not as the villain! Needless to say Jack is gun shy about getting involved with another woman. I felt bad for Harley as she doesn’t have any family to lean on. It is wonderful how the Security company is one big happy family and includes Haley as one of them. There is a crazy person that wants to harm Harley which brings some scary things happening. This is another good book, and I encourage you to read it.

And Harley Sanders is one smart and independent individual who writes sexy romances, and presents far to much temptation for Jack Mackenzie, so he’s rude and dismissive towards her. His marriage history was catastrophic, and he’s lucky to still have his daughter and grandchildren around him.

    Harley is a successful author, and even using a pseudonym, has still managed to attract a stalker who’s threats are becoming increasingly intense.

    Told in my favourite dual POV, Lead Security is the third book in Evan Grace’s series, and even though it is very much a stand-a-lone, it is great to meet the fantastic characters from the previous book again. And, her formula of reluctant relationship participants with extreme chemistry certainly works for me. Although there were areas that almost sounded like a commentary, Ms Grace also conveys the passion and heat between Jack and Harley, “Jack bites me where my neck and shoulder meet, and I do a full body shudder.” *whoa* Nothing could detract from the story that had me wanting to consume it in one sitting. I was hooked.

    She has written Jack as the quintessential ex-military alpha male with the biggest gooey-ist heart that I’ve ever read. Picture a gorgeous heavily muscled (and mine is tattooed) silver fox lovingly holding a baby, or playing dolls and getting bossed about by his toddler grand-daughter, or snuggling Harley’s lop rabbit *sigh*. Hell, even Jack’s dad, Great-Grandpa Mackenzie loved the rabbit called ‘Fifty’. Yeah, he was named after ‘those’ books, afterall he is owned by an erotic romance author!

    I first came across Evan Grace when I got one of her books in the Quirky Blind Date with a Book readers’ group, and I’ve since re-read the book and a couple of others in the Love Stings series. Her books are action-packed, and if you enjoy the ex-military alpha male genre, I highly recommend this series as a great read. 4.5 Stars. You know you want to!

    This was a quick read. I haven't read the previous two books, so there were times new characters were introduced and I felt like I was supposed to know and care for them and I just didn't. I liked Harley's friendship with Delilah, and I liked Delilah's family. Especially cute little Charlie. I liked the relationship between Jack and Harley even though he was a bit of a jerk at times. I liked how he took care of her when she needed him.

    The danger aspect fell a little flat to me. I didn't really feel the danger or any suspense. For an Alpha running a security company, I felt like there was a lack of action. Also, the timeline can be confusing. For example, Harley just moved in next door to Jack's daughter and they meet when she's moving in. Then the next paragraph, a year has passed and Harley is BFFs with Jack's daughter, Delilah.

    There are no grammatical or editorial errors that I can recall.
    The characterisation isn't the strongest, for me it feels as if the author used a tick list to build a character: must be ex -special forces, must be emotionally stunted, must be in the security business (these guys are so experienced but are never able to spot the baddies in time!) must be rich enough to not have to worry about money, must be so good looking they attract seriously personality challenged vampy women without trying . . You get the picture.
    The female characters are just as samey, beautiful, equally emotionally challenged, rocking body and under a previously unknown threat.
    The personality types in these books are always the same, girl next door meets life with stalwart outlook and is so saccharine sweet but at the same time has enough of a sex drive she's always shocked when the hero gives her multiple 'gasms. Why are these female leads never sexually assured?
    I don't know how previous readers have come to the conclusion in their reviews that this series is fantastic and all singing all dancing because it isn't.
    It's not particularly engaging, I couldn't care less if any particular character got killed off, they are not written well enough to promote an affinity.
    All that said, it's an ok read even if it is so predictable. It does what it says on the tin, nothing more.
    There are some sex scenes and some swearing.
