Lost in New Falls: a small town best friend’s sister romantic comedy (Lost in Love Book 1) (Lost in Love Series) Kindle Edition

4.6 4.6 out of 5 stars 34 ratings

Is there a such thing as too hot?

Kate Delaney left New Falls, Tennessee, heartbroken and hell-bent for Hollywood. Now, she’s back, and she’s written The End on a screenplay, which a Hollywood mega-producer believes is movie magic. Just one problem—a nerve-nuking thief absconds with her laptop, attached USB back-up, and the contents of her underwear drawer, and the heartbreaker from ten years ago just walked through the door wearing a sheriff’s badge.

When a teen-aged Kate bloomed, her older brother Reese established a no-look, no-touch, no-anything else rule.
Quentin Taylor figured it was the anything else that was the real trouble. She’d been attractive then. Now she was near irresistible, and he wanted to know one thing. Did Reese’s dictate still stand? He agrees to help Kate find her missing script. Just one problem—that damn chemistry.

In New Falls, Tennessee, people and belongings go missing, but they usually resurface, and everything takes a turn toward love.
Will Kate and Quentin get their Hollywood ending or will it get Lost in New Falls?

About the Author

It all started with an old-fashioned typewriter. When the family brought it home, all those stories and characters rolling around in her head could finally get out. The press and click of the keys satisfied in their own right, but when she pulled out a finished page, she knew this was for her. Since then, she's graduated to a laptop, but the stories still find a way out. She's a breast cancer survivor, a teacher, a wife, a mother, and from the very beginning--a storyteller. Always a hint humorous and honest to a fault, she loves to make people laugh and smile. Her goal in life is to achieve tact and stop procrastinating. The battle wages on.

Lost in New Falls is the first book in the Lost in Love series by Cherie Marks but it is not the first book that I have read in the Lost in Love series as I had the pleasure of reading Lost in Christmas book two first. The books can be read as a stand-alone. I fell in love with this series and all the people of New Falls when I read Lost in Christmas.

Kate Delaney and her brother Reese lost their parents in a car accident many years ago. Afterward, they went to live with their grandfather in New Falls. Kate hung out with Reese and all his friends.

When Kate started to blossom all the boys started looking at her differently but Reese put a stop to whatever ideas the boys may have had for Kate as he did not want to see her hurt.

One of Reese’s best friends Quentin Taylor had a big crush on Kate but would not follow up because of Reese’s warning. Quentin didn’t want to go against his friend because of all the things he had been through.

After high school, Kate made a pass at Quentin but he turned her away because of Reese’s warning. Quentin cared for Kate very much and it hurt him to do that to her. Kate then left for Hollywood to become a writer.

Now, ten years later Kate has returned. Kate and Reese’s grandfather is dying. Kate returned to be with him and to finish her manuscript. There have been some burglaries in New Falls of late.

Kate’s home is burglarized. The burglar takes her laptop with her manuscript on it and the USB flash drive that she backed it up on which was still in the laptop. Oh, and he took her panties as well. The only copy of her manuscript she has left was mailed to her but now it is missing as well. No worries it only landed in the wrong hands by mistake.

Quentin is now the Sheriff of New Falls and decides to help Kate find her manuscript. Quentin drives Kate around town to look for her manuscript. But her manuscript is getting passed around a lot. People are enjoying what they are reading and just keep passing her manuscript from one person to another.

Will Kate and Quentin find her manuscript in time for her to meet her deadline? Will Kate and Quentin work things out this time or will Reese once again stand in their way?

I love the world of Lost in Love tremendously. It feels like a Hallmark world. The people seem like people you would want as a family and or the best friends ever. Lost in New Falls is a warm cozy kind of story that you would read on a cold night by a fire wrapped in your favorite snuggie/ blanket. Kate and Quentin’s story is one that we all wish for every day. I can’t wait to read more in the world of Lost in Love.

I highly recommend Lost in Love to all romantic fans! Grab a copy of Lost in Love today!

This book deserves three and a half stars for taking a cute small-town romance and throwing a good dose of mystery, a tiny bit of action, and a small twist at the end and making it all a bit funny. The characters are colorful. The plot shoots along just fine leaving never a dull moment. This is definitely a nice fun read. I recommend this book to people looking for light-hearted romantic entertainment that leaves you smiling. Not the type of book that will change your life, but one that might make a good distraction for a while. Keep on reading my fellow bookworms!

I couldn't put this down. (which did not bode well for me the next morning!) This is one of those books where you hope from the beginning it will be a happily ever after, but it keeps you guessing and enjoying the ride. The characters are well written, completely identifiable with someone in your life and you'll fall in love with them all. Thank you for a warm cozy read!

Lost in New Falls. The Lost in Love Series. Cherie Marks

Review from Jeannie Zelos Book Reviews.
I liked the sound of this and...it was a decent read, good but not great though. Its so packed full of plots and sub plots that it almost felt as if it was trying too hard. Kate was a great lead, and her story believable, and Quentin made a hot sexy hero...but – the story that pulled them back together, the meeting after ten years where she's changed so much from the tubby, broken hearted girl that left to a stunner, ought to have been almost enough on its own. There's so much to explore, finding each other again, simmering attraction ( mmm – I love that part of a romance, the push pull and dancing round does she/he want me etc ) potential for jealousy over exes etc and yet the plot devolves into silliness at times with the screenplay going on a tortuous route after being stolen, and the characters that read it seemed just too stereotypical small towns gossips. Maybe its like that in US, its not here in UK. I often feel we suffer too much from those who want to take too close an interest in our lives, but they have nothing on these characters. I'd have been furious that some read my private work, never mind that it was passed around without permission...then there's the burglaries, and the silliness over what was taken – at times it was like reading a farce not a romance. Its a shame because with fewer plots, and more emphasis on the main ones and the romance I think this would have been a great read for me. Still, as ever everyone likes different things and I’m sure this novel, well written as it is , will appeal to those who want romance and humour delivered in a light hearted way. I like more depth, and more deep drama sadly, so for me it didn't work as more than just ok :( but you may love this sort of read and find it five star :)
Its well written and edited and very reasonably priced at $4.13/£2.58 for 195 pages if this is the sort of read you enjoy.
    Stars: three

I was very much drawn into this book. I felt that I was right in the middle of the story.
I felt the love and anxiety ALL the way to the end.
I would recommend this book to everyone who likes love stories. Excellent read.
