Light My Fire: Griffin and Beverly (Man of the Month Book 11) Kindle Edition

4.7 out of 5 stars 302 ratings

A SENSUAL BEAUTY AND THE BEAST ROMANCE

He knows he’s a beast.
So how can he win the beauty?

Voice actor and writer Griffin Draper doesn’t do relationships. He’s lived most of his life in shadows, hiding his hated scars under long sleeves, hoodies and hats, revealing himself only in the scripts he writes and the characters he brings to life.

Only a few people know the true man, his heart and his face. He’s too careful. Too afraid of getting burned all over again.

Then Beverly Martin enters his life, and suddenly Griffin’s heart aches for more. She’s beautiful and caring, and little by little she eases her way into his heart, and his bed. The connection between them is electric, and Griffin can’t believe he’s finally tasting the kind of passion he believed would never be his. Best of all, Beverly says she wants him, too—and her touch almost makes Griffin believe that a girl like her could truly love a beast like him.

But Beverly is an A-list movie star who lives her life in the spotlight. Can Griffin take the leap into the bright lights of fame? Or will he end up losing the only woman he’s ever loved?

Each book is a STANDALONE romance with an HEA and an overarching story about a group of friends and the local bar they love. Totally hot and utterly binge-worthy!

Griff is my FAVORITE!!!!

Griff is my FAVORITE!!!!
Besides the owner partners of The Fix, Griff is probably one of the more consistent faces we see in the series and I love that he finally gets his turn! He has such a tragic past and knowing he might be able to over come that and the issues he has is heartwarming to say the least. I also absolutely loved Jessie and would love to see her more in future books. Griff’s work with burn victims was a pleasant surprise and a nice addition to the story. I’m sad it’s almost over, although I wish Griff was the final book since it would’ve been a perfect happy ending to the series.

"Bev was the kind of woman who went after the things she wanted. And lately, she'd come to realize that what - who- she wanted was Griffin."

I have loved Griffin since Wicked Grind. And when I saw that he was in this series as well, I was so hoping he would get his happily ever after! This has to be my favorite book of this series, hands down!!

Griffin Blaize stays out of the spotlight for a reason. Severely scarred following being burned as a child, he's content hiding behind his computer, his words, and his ever-present hoodie. As one by one, his friends find happiness with their soulmates, he can't help but long for the same thing, knowing it will never happen. After all, who would love him with the way he looks anyway? Beverly? He's wanted her since their first meeting but he's keeping her at arm's length to protect his heart from wanting something it can never have. But, now the safety of his privacy is threatened when his script is becoming a movie, with Beverly in the leading role. Long hours of script revisions put her so close to him, it's pure torture. Should he act on his feelings? How will handle having to be in Beverly's celebrity spotlight, when all this time he's been able to hide away? Will he ever be able to be comfortable in his own skin and be the man she needs him to be, or is it just easier to walk away now? Which leaves a bigger scar - the burns, or losing her?

Beverly Martin read the script and knew she had to do it. She needed this part, and she needed to meet the man behind the words. Meeting Griffin changed her life. She knew he'd been scarred as a child but he never let anyone get close enough - never let anyone see. All she saw was the man - not the scars - and he was hot. Good looks, ripped bod, and a creative mind that blew her away. She knew she'd fall in love with him from their first meeting, but it's been an uphill battle to get out of that friendship zone. She'll fight for him - for them. But he has to meet her in the middle. She won't settle for only half of him. She wants him all in, or not at all. Is her love for him enough to give him the courage to come out of hiding and stand beside her? Doesn't he realize that losing him would scar her too.

My heart broke for Griffin, but when he finally gives in? Holy Hannah is that man fine! Hello, Mr. November! I'd highly recommend this series to everyone!

I have been waiting for Griffin's story since I started reading the Man of the Month series. He has been a mystery throughout the series and now he gets his place in the sun. I am so happy Ms Kenner didnt disappoint in any way shape or form.

Griffin is just fine not being in the spotlight - after tragedy he is content living his life in the shadows. That is why he left Hollywood and moved to Austin. Now working on a screenplay with the beautiful Beverly Martin who lives her life front and center he knows that any type of relationship with the actress will never work - that is until she challenges him to take a chance to come out of the shadows.

I love Griffin. He is strong, independent and so smart. He has come a long way in his life and the way that Ms Kenner writes his POV you can feel his pain but more importantly you can see how much he wants to take a chance. The story like the first books is fast paced filled with great characters and we even get a few cameos. We also get to spend more time with Beverly who has been in and out of the series and get to see what type of women she is and why she is perfect for Griffin. All in all this is my favorite of the series so worth the wait.

Griffin & Bev have had feelings for one another for a number of years. Griffin is a burn victim and thinks he’s never going to be in a relationship because of it. He has a successful podcast and has written a screenplay which will now become a movie. Bev is an actress who has just finished her first big movie, and is starring in Griffin’s. She loves him, but thinks he doesn’t return his feelings. They met at a bar called The Fix and have become friends. He wears a hoodie to hide the right side of his face and a glove to cover his right hand. The right side of his body is all scarred, too. He always hides in the shadows. They are working together on revisions of his screenplay. Griffin goes through a lot of emotions and has to decide if he can stand by Bev’s side through all the limelight or whether he has to stay behind in the shadows. This story is written brilliantly. J. Kenner brings out issues that burn victims go through emotionally. This is a must read.

This man of the moth 11. Beverley and Griffin’s love story. Griffin is a tragically scarred man in his thirties. He was severally burnt whilst lighting a fire with lighter fuel, resulting in 4th degree burns to half his body. Beverley, the Mc at the calendar contest and film star falls in love with Griffin, but he is to scared to believe his feelings are mirrored by her. The story unfolds. We meet some previous characters that are cleverly woven in. A really good storyline. Easy and enjoyable reading.
