- Reviewed in the United States on December 21, 2017This is a little book of wise and hilarious cures for the blues. There’s a laugh for all occasions: from times when cookery goes wrong and you’re not quite sure about tagine, whether to throw in snails or lamb or chick peas; what happens when a greedy young man eats too many figs; when Michael Flanders met a gnu in a zoo and quite a few ditties about beloved Auntie Beeb, to name a few. Then, there’s a whole terrine of limericks about “our friends across the Channel” – maybe the politicians could use some of them to lighten up the Brexit talks. Something for everyone – especially if you like a bit of sauce and frisson in your rhymes. Leave it out on your coffee table and treat yourself to a smile and a half. I really enjoyed this little book of rhymes but I preferred the authors book, "At home in the Pays d'Oc".

5.0 out of 5 stars Rude it certainly is.
Rude it certainly is... but also, laugh out loud funny at times. Such as 2.00am, when I should be asleep, but just wanted to read one more. I sincerely hope my cackling didn't wake the neighbours. Patricia is a natural, these little rhymes are both clever and funny, and she seems to be able to pull out a limerick for every occasion. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars French for lovers of spice.
And boy are some of them rude...although actually most of them are just a bit cheeky. They’re all well written and fun - and I really love the way she’s found rhymes for French places and phrases. I ended up with a big grin on my face and I’m going to give this to all my francophone friends.
