Austin Dragon is the author of over 30 books in science fiction, fantasy, and classic horror. His works include the sci-fi noir detective LIQUID COOL series, the epic fantasy FABLED QUEST CHRONICLES, the international futuristic epic AFTER EDEN Series, the classic SLEEPY HOLLOW HORRORS, and new military sci-fi PLANET TAMERS series.     I have read all of the Liquid Cool series and enjoyed them all. They're a bit silly, but great fun. The lead character and his entourage are all fun to read and the stories, at times, convoluted, but they all work out in the end with our hero coming through in an understated manner. It's a sort of Bladerunner meets The Maltese Falcon meets Monty Python. Give them a shot, see what you think. And Austin Dragon, if you're reading this, write some more about Cruz.

    There are words I could use here to describe the book, simple adjectives in a long run on sentence. But, that just seems too predictable, as well as inefficient.

    Austin Dragon has excelled with this series, the first 3 books were really enjoyable. Great stories, fun and easy to read, with a plot you can follow regardless of the twists and herrings. The next anthology, books 4-6 is a great improvement on the tale of Cruz, the cases get bigger and wilder and more insane, but the writing is as tight and legible as ever. The humour is a bonus and as ever it's subtle and real without a need for slapstick nonsense or bodily functions. It's also nice to read an author who doesn't mind making his main protagonist fallible and human.

    The three stories in this box set are nicely executed and a pleasure to read. In some cases I even found that I had to force myself to put down my kindle so I could sleep. Just one more page, or to the next chapter, just a little bit more. You have to hate authors that disrupt sleep patterns. Still, I don't begrudge a single minute that I spent reading the two anthologies, 6 books that this set comprises.

    I hadn't heard of this author before, and only stumbled onto these books by accident while browsing through "recommended" titles. I can't say that I wish I'd known of him before, because then I would have had to wait for these books rather than being able to read the whole series together. I hate waiting for the next book in a series, especially if I'm enjoying it. There are a couple authors who I regularly abuse at length (and privately in my own mind) for not writing fast enough. I suspect my patience may have worn very thin if I was waiting for one of these books.

    I won't say I'm now a dedicated fan of Austin Dragon, I don't want to scare the poor fellow into hiding or anything.

    If you are looking for a good read, then buy these books now. If you want a bit of non-invasive humour with your detective thriller, or some cyberpunk lunacy, or just to wander the streets of a city with 50 million stories, buy these books now. That perhaps is what makes these books so good. There's something here for everyone. science fiction, cyberpunk, noir, hard-boiled, satire, suspense, mystery and even a little bit of good old-fashioned romance.

    I am a fussy reader, while I can sit down and plough through a book I don't like, I would rather not waste time doing that. This means I tend to be quite careful when buying material as there are a lot of, to be polite, less capable authors publishing. When I find something I do like, I will buy and read everything that author has written. I hope Mr. Dragon enjoys the small contribution I have made by purchasing his books, and I can assure him, that I will be eagerly awaiting new material for him. I am extremely pleased to have found another excellent author to add to my stable of collectible writers.
