Little White Bones: A dark horror novel about London’s murky past Kindle Edition
But underneath, dark currents are stirring. Why is she seeing flashbacks of the past? Why is she dreaming about rows of little bony feet? And what does any of this have to do with the new priest at her mother’s church?
‘Little White Bones’, a dark horror romance, is E W Grant's debut novel.
This book is also available in French, the translation is called Les Petits Os Blancs.

Artwork for Eyes of China Blue
I am thrilled to have published two novels: Eyes of China Blue and Little White Bones.
It used to be the case that women of a 'certain age' became invisible once career ambitions had been achieved and families brought up. I believe that view is changing and being free of responsibility, I now have time for to fulfil my lifelong aspiration to write novels. I am fortunate to be able to undertake my second career.
Both book covers feature watercolours created by the author.

Ghostly tales of the supernatural
Many years of exploring the ancient lanes and alleyways of London inspired the author to imagine the struggle to survive the City's murky and brutal past. Little White Bones is the spine-chilling tale.
Later, a neglected Victorian house by the River Thames ignited fantasies of what may have taken place within the old solid walls. Eyes of China Blue tells the haunting, disturbing story of love and conflict.

About the author

Elaine W Grant was born in London on May 6, 1959. After many years of working in business communications, Elaine decided to turn her attention to creative writing. This coincided with the pandemic of 2020, when Elaine and her husband found themselves in lockdown on their boat in Marina Lagos in Portugal.
The result of being confined to a small space was her debut novel, Little White Bones, published in English and French on Amazon.
Eyes of China Blue was inspired by a large, rambling Victorian house near the River Thames at Hampton Court from which a solitary light high up in a hexagonal garret burned brightly despite no other signs of occupancy being visible.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2021I couldn't put Little White Bones down until the very last page. Grant conjured up such a rich cast of characters and haunting scenes, I can't wait for a follow-up novel!
The vignettes Grant created were juicy and menacing in the most satisfying ways for a professed Anglophile like me. She cleverly crafted scenes, drama and conversations that kept me guessing and anxious.
I'd say this book ranks as fresh, clever and edgy.
Highly recommended.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2021Kayleigh is a strong woman who thought she knew what she wanted. All that changed when she went to church with her mother. Suddenly her entire life was turned upside down. I gave this novel four stars because of the ending. To me the ending is very important.

5.0 out of 5 stars Waiting with baited breath for book number 2
This is not my usual type of book but I’m so glad I tried it. Brilliant! So easy to get involved with the characters and the story to the point that you wanted to keep reading to find out what happened next. Mystery, suspense, romance………. some great twists and I thought the ending was very fitting. More intrigue………… I’ll be looking out for more from E W in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth reading
A novel that was easy to get involved in and kept you wanting to know more. The past and the present merging in a dark and disturbing way. Very different from the books that I usually read and well worth trying.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Amazing First Novel by E W Grant - An Author We Will Be Seeing Much More Of
I loved the characters in this book - I felt I really got to know them. The story included a bit of everything - emotion, humour and religion. I was held in suspense the whole way through and really enjoyed the satisfying twist at the end. A really good read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant read
Finished reading this book and was surprised how quickly l read it. Once l got into the characters l could not put it down and although one of the characters is a very unpleasant person the story is told very well and believable. The twist at the end was unexpected. Great read.
