Lonely for You Only Kindle Edition
From New York Times bestselling author and BookTok sensation Monica Murphy comes a swoon-worthy new adult romance full of love songs.
Young heiress Scarlett Lancaster is delighted when her father tells her he hired a famous pop star and former boy band member to play at her eighteenth birthday. But delight becomes utter disappointment when it turns out he wasn’t talking about Harry Styles. No, Scarlett’s dad hired Tate Ramsey, former lead singer of the band Five Car Pileup, who hasn’t been popular for years.
Tate, after years of alcohol- and drug-fueled partying, is sober and ready for a comeback. He is in top form at Scarlett’s party and blows the audience away with his performance—though Scarlett herself still isn’t impressed. But when they talk after he leaves the stage, their encounter ends in a kiss that surprises them both—and immediately goes viral.
The viral kiss and the video of Tate singing at the party do wonders for both of their burgeoning careers. So after some careful negotiation, the two of them agree to start a fake relationship. But before long they discover their feelings might not be fake after all …

- Reviewed in the United States on March 12, 2024It's refreshing to read a Lancaster story set away from Lancaster Prep. Before I read the book, for some reason I thought Tate was a lot older than Scarlett than the three years. What started as a fake relationship in order to help each other out, turned into something real. Being around each other without prying eyes helped Tate and Scarlett get to really know each other. Scarlett realizes that Tate has worries too about his future and that he doesn't have it as easy as she originally thought. Tate's impressions of Scarlett has also changed. Even though she was born into money, she has a big heart. When I reached the end of the book, I couldn't believe it was already ending. I just wish there had been an epilogue.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 16, 2024Really cute story!
Scarlet had a crush on Tate when they were teenagers, but she moved way the hell on from him & wasn’t the least bit interested in him when her father hired him to perform at her 18th birthday party. But he’s immediately attracted to her, and before they know it, they’re paired up on a fake relationship. Somewhere along the way though that relationship becomes very real.
I love that Scarlet actually has decent parents too. Lucky Lancaster! Everyone seems to have horrible parents in this family! But both her mom & dad are really great (for the most part).
- Reviewed in the United States on May 27, 2024I'm addicted to rock star heroes. So this was right up my alley. I loved both these characters and their personalities. I love how relatable Scarlett is even though I didn't expect her to be. These 2 were the embodiment of opposites attract. The only thing I was sad about was some of the pivotal first moments between them that we didn't get to see. Some of their first intimate acts, which were all firsts for Scarlett and seeing them shift to fully being a real couple sharing a bed. Those are the moments I live for as a romance reader, especially in a fake relationship going real (and one with a v!rgin).
- Reviewed in the United States on February 7, 2024This wasn’t our typical Lancaster family story. It was a sweet, slow burn romance, with a little bit of spice as well! It was a good read.
I really enjoyed Tate and Scarlett. They were the perfect complement to each other. Tate seems more outgoing, while Scarlett is more reserved. He brings out a more feisty side of her, while she seems to ground him. Truly a perfect match. Watching them figure out their feelings for each other was so wonderful, and you couldn’t help but root for them.
I will also say, I don’t know if this was supposed to happen or not but I developed a crush on Fitz Lancaster, Scarlett’s dad. He’s so unlike his siblings and I loved it.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 8, 2024I loved Tate and Scarlett from the moment they meet. She is so different from him then she is with anyone else in her life. Scarlett is the ultimate good girl who doesn't want to rock the boat whereas Tate doesn't mind a little rocking. She has a love hate relationship with him but he makes her have opinions and beliefs and to stick to them even if no one agrees with her.
Now Tate needs Scarlett which is very clear, but he is so messed up from his past he doesn't trust himself and his choices because of fear from his past. It's Scarlett who might not like him at first and fight with him, but she grounds him in so many ways.
I love that these 2 characters were able to find a way to work in the end. Plus how many songs can a guy write about his girl before everyone is over it. I loved that he expressed himself through music every time he messed up. It was a perfect match.

Slow burn 🔥
Former boy band member and heiress that fall for one another.
- Reviewed in the United States on February 6, 2024Lonely for You Only is a fantastic read. I loved this one. This is Scarlett's book. She has her heart set on one guy and never saw Tate coming. Tate a reformed bad boy band member is looking for his second chance. He never saw his muse coming. Scarlett and Tate are delicious together as they navigate their fake to real relationship. I love the growth between Tate and Scarlett. Scarlett is so supportive of Tate. They have this almost effortless relationship as they spend more time together. I could not put this down. Go meet them now.

Scarlett Lancaster is the NYC heiress to the Lancaster family. With just graduating high school & everyone having her eyes on her to what she does next, she finds herself kissing a has been rockstar at her 18th birthday party. She doesn’t know what came upon her, especially with her everlasting crush on Ian - The son of her family lawyer.
Tate Ramsay is the “has been” singer of a boy band that broke up after a short reign on the US music charts. After finding his high school sweetheart in his best mates & band member bed, Tate turned to substances to numb his pain. Now he is a 21YO with no music future. Until he’s hired to sing at the social media star Scarlett’s 18th birthday party. Until he finds himself in a position with her that he doesn’t want to end.
When Tate finds his breakout after Scarlett’s 18th, he needs to keep it going to keep his public image from tanking again. This is when he asks Scarlett to be his fake girlfriend with a 2 month stint in LA while he records music for a new album. Scarlett feeling lost with her future agrees, hoping it will make Ian jealous. But what spires between both ends up being a lot more than fake.
I enjoyed this story. I did feel it was quite juvenile compared to Monica’s usual writing. I did miss her spice & I did feel like there was that emotional connection with the main characters missing. However I did enjoy the story with it being a very easy Sunday afternoon read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Really cute book
Lonely For You Only is part of the Lancaster prep world but not technically part of the series as it is not based at the school but still about the Lancaster family
This book had a very cute vibe the whole way through
I really liked the characters but I didn’t really connect to them like I normally do with Monica Murphy books
For me, there wasn’t as much depth and background information into them as there normally is
This book is a fake dating trope which is one of my favourites and I do think it was done really well
I do think the plot of the book was really good and cute and was very hooking if you like fake dating tropes
But I just didn’t have that connection with the characters and wasn’t as invested in the book because of that

4.0 out of 5 stars Lonely For You
This is pretty good.
Tate, a former boy band member whose career is over due to alcohol and drugs, has cleaned up his act.
The only gigs he can get is singing at birthdays of former fans.
At Scarletts birthday they form a connection and his star is rising again.
They decide to capitalise on the interest and pretend date.
It turns real but then crashes diwn around them.

I enjoyed this story about Scarlett Lancaster (youngest brother Fitzgerald Lancaster) and Tate Ramsey. I enjoyed their journey to them finding their happy ever after.
