Reviews for other books in the series

"Prepare to be inspired and uplifted! This is a captivating children's book that shines a spotlight on the incredible achievements of four trailblazing women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through enchanting rhymes and beautiful illustrations, young readers are introduced to the brilliance of Marie Curie, Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy, Wang Zhenyi, and Mary Seacole. Each page radiates with the message that children are capable of greatness and possess the power to change the world."
Abigail, Librarian

"I admit I teared up a bit reading this. Very cute, with a diverse selection of women in STEM, displayed with cute poetry and vocabulary lists! And the end of the book includes interactive bits for the kids - coloring pages and paper crafts. My niece is the perfect age for this; it'll not just expand her vocabulary but her view of the world as well.

Absolutely adorable and the art is beautiful!"
Tabitha - Netgalley Reviewer

"A wonderful person- just like you! - This book’s refrain was one of my favorite things about it. This was a very engaging anthology of women in STEM. It covered very diverse people with different backgrounds and different time frames. I think this is a great book to set off a spark of fascination for science."

Author, illustrator, and dentist, Ramya Julian finished her first novel at the age of ten and she avers it was very well received, though it was read only by her brother. She has all the hobbies of a maiden Victorian aunt – reading, writing, painting, crocheting, knitting and sewing, and the temperament of one. When she’s not guilt-tripping her two daughters into good behaviour, she can be found devouring books, crafting poems and puns, and chuckling at her own witticisms. She grew up in India and now lives with her husband and their two daughters in London.

She has experienced so much joy through the enchanting artistry of many authors and creators, that she aspires to share at least some of it through her writing.

This is a wonderful book for kids! I'd say any kid from age 5 and up would love this. As a teacher I'm especially pleased at the vocabulary and definitions included, it's great to introduce kids to advanced vocab words, but the book is still highly readable and easy to understand even for young kids who have it read to them.

I didn't know anything about the story of Louis Braille and now I feel it should be talked about more! The inclusions at the back of the book are also wonderful and expand the experience and learning.

Most importantly, it's fun to read, and my six year old loved it! The illustrations are wonderful.

Overall this is a charming book that is perfect for home but I recommend it even more for the classroom as well!! Teachers take note!

I knew this book was going to be interesting but I actually didn’t know that Braille did “poke his eye out”. I’m glad I had a chance to read his story to my kids as his story will be a reminder to both be careful but also to triumph over adversity.

This is a good introduction to the story of Louis Braille. It includes basic facts about his life, why he developed the braille system, definitions of new terms, and some activities in the back of the book to help extend learning for younger kids. Would be a useful resource for homeschoolers or teachers of children in the early elementary grades.

Written in rhyme, information about Louis Braille’s life and legacy flow nicely. The braille system has always intrigued me - we loved learning more about the man! The added bonus of a braille letter key allowed us to write our own names. This is a wonderful series of books I recommend.

Nothing quite hits the mark in young children's books like a rhyming book.

A rhyming non-fiction text is fairly unusual.

The story of Louis Braille is interesting and informative. I'm sure my class will agree.

Add to that the possible activities at the end and you have a whole host if follow up work too...thank you!

Another fabulous book by this author. This story with beautiful illustrations, and written in rhyme, tells the story of Loius Braille. Loius went blind at the age of 5 yrs. At the age of 15yrs he developed a system of reading and writing through raised dots – known as Braille. The author includes the Braille alphabet at the end of the book. The Glossary also is a great idea and what is even more exciting for the kids to do is learn their name in Braille. Loved it.

Not just this book but this entire series is filled with real people and their real stories of changing the world instead of letting it change them. It teaches children bravery, innovation and brilliance can be fun and educative with it’s interesting activities found at the end of the book after getting through a fun little rhyme narrating the entire story! It has the most brilliantly woven illustrations filled with so much details that can easily captivate little and older readers as well! The Kindle version is free but I think the Paperback version is obviously where all the fun is!
